The chicken fingers were great. The building could use a little work. The tables were sticky, but food was good overall.

Legit! Stopped in on our way thru to Florida(from Minnesota) for a quick take out order … just happened to see the billboard right before the exit. Soooo glad we did. Burger, chicken fingers and onion rings were out of this world. Chicken fingers were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had … anywhere! They were huge. My guess is they brine them in buttermilk. Just a guess. They were super tender! Place is old but that’s part of what made it cool. If you’re not from the area I could see this being a place people may pass buy and not stop at. Don’t pass it up! Highly recommend a stop if you’re passing through.

This places is guhreat! When I go to and leave Tybee, I stop here to get their salad called«Tybee Island Salad» and the butter pecan milkshake. Not only is it tasty, but it’s also a small business and I appreciate keeping my dollars local to the communities I visit. Here I had great service, yumtastic food, and all the«y’alls» I could get! Though the place isn’t as «pretty» as some of your downtown Savannah locations — the food makes up for the experience.(Oh, and as a former food writer I give it 5 Yums Up!)

I had a cookies and cream shake, it was pretty watery. The green beans were more salt than green bean. I say try it for yourself but don’t go with great expectations. Oh and tap water is 75 cents… so just order a coke. Get your money’s worth.

Stopped based on Unilocal reviews. Burger was good, big Reds is 9 oz meat & as good as a grease pit kinda place can serve. Onion rings were very good but the wife’s steak fries, way under cooked. Kinda gross. My so like the chocolate shake a lot. Food was ok overall but wouldn’t look this place up again if was close by.

When there is a Ruby Tuesday, a McDonald’s, and a Walmart on every corner the haters that leave bad reviews for places like this will reap the fruits of their labor. ½lb fresh beef burger, awesome shake, and fries or way above average onion rings will run you $ 12 Ronnie is a real person. He might be there. He spends his money in the area and contributes to the local economy. In my America people don’t leave one star reviews for independently owned restaurants over a few pickles.

Where to start, I’ll start with curb appeal. Don’t look around you if you’re visiting the drive-thru, you might be grossed out by the appearance and condition of the exterior of the establishment, peeling paint, garbage, dirty windows and general lack of maintenance has taken it’s toll on the place. Now about the food. Everything under one roof menu with sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs in addition to ice cream, shakes etc. I opted for the Red Burger, a 9 oz burger patty with all the trimmings. Unfortunately I got ‘pickles” I specifically asked not to be on the burger. Second, though okay taste wise the burger was obviously pre-cooked, it was gray on the outside and the wetness soaked the bottom of the bun which meant the burger basically fell apart when I tried to eat it. Would I be back, not likely, maybe if they take some of the money from their hundred thousand dollar billboard that got us off the freeway and fixed the place up.

The Red Burger is great, but you must like real Manly Burgers to really like it. Don‘t come here looking for Health Gains. Sometimes they tell you, they are out of the Red Burger… Just leave… SERIOUSLY, and I DO !.. Milkshakes are great, but for some reason, you would think the world is coming to an end when you painfully watch them try and get one out to you. Old looking Truckers stop diner look. A Mel’s Diner from the past. I would say they get rushed and get inconsistent at times. They have always been nice and apologetic if something took too long. A RED Burger Fries and Milkshake Place. Don‘t order anything else and take it to go so you don‘t have to stare at the old paneling from Granpappies Mobil Home Bar.

This may be the longest pause between dining at a place and then writing a review in Unilocal History. I ate here on December 27th, 1992. I was 11 years old. To this day, I can remember it as being the best burger I have ever eaten. Still have not had one that compares to this day. We were on our way to Disney World in Orlando and we had driven from Westminster, Maryland and got as far as Savannah before we had to stop for the night. We went out looking for some place that was still open. I remember we walked in and we were the only ones there. There was a girl scrapping ice out of a cooler with a Gallon Milk Jug cut out to be a scoop. She offered me 5 bucks if I would do it. I wanted to, but my cousin wouldn’t let me. Anyways, best burger ever. 23 years ago, I STILL remember it :-)

From the highway it doesn’t look like much, but once you park and enter it has a warm homey atmosphere. The hostess is extremely friendly, warm and inviting. I asked her what was good to eat and she named a few things, barbecue chicken, cheese burger and chicken tenders. My son got the cheeseburger and steak fries. My son liked the Niger he had sautéed onions, ketchup, mustard and yellow American cheese. He said it was a good burger and he would go again. The chicken fingers were good they were cooked well and juicy. They were typical diner type chicken strips, but good. The steak fries were excellent fried to perfection, they were just right. I would go back just for the fries. Both meals came to $ 14 not bad for a lunchtime meal in Savannah Georgia

Wow. From the outside, this doesn’t look like much. But once the food arrives — wow! The onion rings are fantastic. And the milkshakes are nice and thick.

Last time I was here was 4 years ago when coming through town. When I thought about breakfast, I knew we needed to grab some chicken biscuits to go – and I’m glad we did! We’ll be back again!

Ordered 2nd in a group of 4 guys. I had hot dogs, all of them ordering the burgers. They received their food and finished while I was on my second trip to the counter, to see if they even remembered I was there. When the girl behind the counter brought my food, she said«Sorry the crazy lady in the back needs to lay off the bottle.» As I sat alone at the table, because the other guys were done, I sat and ate the shittiest set of hot dogs to grace this planet. I heard also overheard the young cashier talking to some local waterheads about her recent baby daddy’s incarceration. Service sucks, atmosphere sucks and whoever’ picture is all of the walls from dirt track racing probably sucks too.

We were passing through on the way south and thought we’d stop here after other Unilocalers gave it a thumbs-up. It’s very good. We paid at the counter and sat down and the food arrived within maybe 10 minutes. I had the pulled-pork bbq dinner, with green beans and steak fries. The beans were traditional Southern/bbq style, ie, cooked a very long time. Savory and tender. The steak fries were crisp. The pulled pork was finely shredded, completely melt-in-your-mouth soft, bathed in a sweet & rich sauce. My son was pleased with the fried-chicken-finger sandwich. The onion rings were also nice and crisp.

Okay, not sure why anyone would give Ronnie’s more than 1, maybe even 2 stars. Went here with some coworkers since we were in a rush and had to be back to the office quickly. Next time, I’m taking my time and risking being late. Here’s a list of all the things that went wrong with my visit here: — when we ordered, it literally took the food 1 minute to hit our table. In other words, the burgers were already made, just sitting there waiting for the next unsuspecting victim — the burger itself tasted like it was boiled in water and there was zero flavor — My coworker asked for no lettuce/tomatoes. When she complained, you can tell they just took the burger and scrapped it off. Which wouldn’t be that bad if they at least scrapped it all off — All in all a pretty horrible experience. The only saving grace(kind of) was the steak fries which were well done. Well you know, a bag of frozen potatoes placed in a fryer then, you know, taken out in time so they aren’t burnt. Now if that doesn’t deter you from coming here, here’s the final touch. When we get back to the office and everyone in the class we are teaching hears we went to Ronnie’s, all you heard was horrific sounds, people screaming«nooooo», and the occasional gag reflex. This all followed up by the question, «did you see any roaches?»

As a fan of local diners and«greasy spoons» as well as a hungry traveler, I was pleasantly surprised to see this establishment across the street from a random stop for gas as I left Savannah for parts south. The impromptu decision to stop for lunch after fueling up was made on the basis of their promise of old-fashioned milkshakes on their road sign. A Red Cheeseburger combo with chocolate milkshake and onion rings was a wise choice as it turned out. Staff were more than friendly and I was once again ready to make my way into stressful holiday interstate traffic on a Saturday after Christmas.

This place actually surprised the heck out of me. There isn’t any flashy sign to announce the place nor is there any modern architecture to draw you in. It’s simply a little restaurant right off the highway. When you walk in, once again — nothing special. You’re greeted by some very friendly staff and then order your food and sit down. Once again, nothing special. It’s nice and clean, however, which is always a pleasant thing to see. However, once you get your food, you realize why you came here. It tastes non-processed and not your traditional restaurant taste. Most restaurants, to me, have a standard«taste» about them. However, this place has a home-made and made by hand taste that is really amazing. So don’t pass this up if you’re around. It’s a great place to go to and pretty good prices as well.
