Formerly Loco’s(which I wasn’t a fan of), and now bursting into the scene as an «upscale sports bar». Stopped in during St. Paddy’s(which isn’t always the best indication of the quality of an establishment — imagine pared down menu, harried servers, drunk customers, etc.) but they handled the lunch rush like pros. They aren’t busy yet. People have yet to discover this place, which is fine. I benefit! Win! We were able to come right in and get a seat upstairs for our party of 6. We ordered burgers, chicken fingers, and sweet potato fries. The chicken fingers were okay, a little dry. The burger was good, but nothing memorable, but the sweet potato fries were delish. I’d go back just for those! The service was great. They really tried to make the best of the situation. The restrooms were clean(and ended up being a valuable find when the port-a-lets started overflowing outside) and the people friendly. I’d go back again on my next visit to Savannah!

One wonders over the mindset of the reviewers here, and whether there’s an overall discontentment because the chain«Loco’s» is no more. Perhaps there’s been a shift since its actual changeover. At any rate, I attended their Grand Opening last night and was absolutely blown away beyond expectations. The expectations: I’d heard it was a Sports Bar, and I’m not particularly big on those, but I’m all about supporting local efforts. The atmosphere was coastal bohemian with white lights canopied across a cloud-strewn ceiling, floor to ceiling windows giving you one of the best views on Broughton, delicate silhouettes of painted trees adorning the corners. «Can’t do anything right», are you mad? Two tables were set out in the back with assorted appetizers to introduce the community to some of the menu offerings. I sampled one of each: Tempura-battered shrimp kabobs, a delicately fried potato cake topped with lox and crème fraîche, fried oysters on bruschetta and a crab cake which was punctuated(I think) with the presence of tiny diced apples. All were beyond divine — the flavors rich and original, and far superior to the former Loco’s soggier canned and frozen fare. A familiar face floated in and about the crowd soon making things abundantly clear — Steve Maguilas, owner of Toucan Café, has recently taken over the menu helm, the creations were his. I went in with fairly low expectations(assuming sports bar, I thought there would be the stereotypical wings and chicken tenders), and walked out not completely satisfied — I wanted more(and then some). In the end, it’s possible that changes were made between some of the older reviews and my own visit. I’m also told that their wine menu is exceptional, I regret not trying a few glasses. Next time! If you’re a local familiar with Toucan, you’ll realize what a great thing that is; if not — the only thing I can offer is TRYITNOW before word gets out. Local offerings, accessible upscale, and an utterly magical atmosphere? Please. This place is going to be huge. And no, this isn’t a shill review — I’m a writer with South Magazine and a elitishly snobby foodie. TL;DR: I’m critical as hell. :) (Go already. Before the tourists discover it.)

I call this place«The Wind»…because it blows. This must be the default place you have to settle for when there’s a two hour wait at Wild Wings. I’m surprised that more reviewers have not made puns about calling this place«dis-satisfied» or «un-satisfied» because I’d say that was the general consensus on how my friends and I felt about it. This place isn’t the worst thing in the world, it’s just they can’t seem to do anything right and they take a long time to do it! There were plenty of tables open on a Saturday night when we wanted to watch the Bama-LSU game.(That’s a bad sign when you can easily get a seat on a Saturday) I will say our waitress was super sweet and very helpful but she was swamped. She had too many tables and didn’t seem to have any support staff. Getting a bottle of beer was an ordeal. Trying to put in food orders was like pulling teeth and then waiting for the food was excruciating. We ordered burgers, sandwiches and the meatloaf special. When it came out over 45 minutes later it was cold. By that point we were too hungry to send it back so we just ate it. It probably would have been good if it had been hot but cold meatloaf is about as appealing as it sounds. This place does get points for having a ton of TVs and as I previously mentioned, a super sweet waitress. But I can’t give it more than two stars because if you’re billing yourself as a place where you can get food and drinks, it’s important you’re able to deliver on that promise and Satisfied just isn’t up to the task. If you want slow service and cold food, this is your place. If your standards are a wee bit higher, go somewhere else. We should have just waited the two hours at Wild Wings… we probably would have had our food in the same amount of time. We asked some locals if we should go there and they told us to avoid it. We should have listened to them.

Went there because I had a gift card from and heard that it was a nice spot. Upon arrival we were seated immediately and our waiter Joy was real nice. I ordered the JT’s Sweet Habanero wings and sweet garlic wings which my friend and I split. They were quite tasty. And dare I say better than Wild Wingz Café. I wanted to try something outside my norm and ordered the Parthenon Panini sandwich which had Oven Roasted Chicken, Kalamata Olives, Roma Tomatoes, Spinach, and Feta served with fresh Pesto and Sun-dried Tomato paste with a side choice of Onion Rings once again my taste buds rejoiced. The atmosphere was good, the staff was friendly, and the prices not to bad. I will be back to try the other half of the menu. Check out the place for yourself
