LOVE Vinnie Van Go-Go-s — cash only! Open late!!! Stopped in for a slice after going to Club One. The slices are HUGE and delicious. They also serve whole pizzas. A great place to have a fun casual meal. A favorite when we are in Savannah.

Didn’t really love it… average pizza, too pricey. Service was good. Won’t go back tho.

Found this little gem by way of recommendations from a couple of locals. Right on the corner of Market Square. Pros: The mark of an awesome pie is the crust and boy did they nail it. Crisp and chewy. Just as it should be. Ordered large pepperoni, sausage, onion. Toppings were perfect and sauce tasted sweet and fresh. Pizza came within 30 of seating and server boxed up the leftovers. Cons: cash only so beware. ATM was kind of sketchy so maybe find one you trust before hand. Overall: Best pizza I’ve had in a long time. Price was definitely right for the area. 8.5÷10

I’ll make this the most concise review yet. A very hopping pizza spot in a busy area(seeing ridiculously long lines snaking around the corner is not unusual) selling humongous slices that are big on flavor, but easy on the wallet. What’s not to like? Service(equal parts rude, standoffish, inattentive, and abrupt)

So so sad, I really could not believe what happened in this place… we were so looking forward to eating here, when I arrived to the place I asked the guy that was making the dough if I could make a video of him. Because I am polite, he completely ignored me, twice, however the guy that was next to him heard me so he asked me if he could help me, and I asked him if I could make a video of his friend. So he said that I had to ask him, when I did he said NO. I cancelled my reservation when I told the hostes, obviously she apologized and said they were really busy that we needed to address them first… but come on the guy heard me, he didn’t want to answer me and when we did he said NO. So for me it was so sad … will never come to this place and will make sure to let all my friends know from England, Colombia and Florida not to bother coming here.

A must-stop for every visit to Savannah. From watching the pizza makers throw the dough in the air and hand-picking the toppings of choice, this is the perfect option to go or to eat there. I am a sucker for a slice of cheese with jalapeños! It’s always freshly baked and the slices are huge. Make sure to bring cash, but no worries if you don’t carry any because they have an ATM in the building! The employees couldn’t be nicer and the hours make for a convenient stop any time of day(or night!) Vinnie’s is usually a late-night, post several drinks type of stop for me, and oh that hot, fresh flavor will wake you back up and get you ready for several more hours of fun!

Probably the best pizza in Savannah. The place sells pizza as a whole as well as by the slice. Its a pretty good size slice and one can easily fill you up. The slice itself without any toppings cost $ 2.75 and each additional topping is $.05 or $ 0.75(premium topping) extra depending on what you get. Toppings range from sun dried tomatoes to artichokes to hamburger meat. The only con is that when I got spicy sausage as my topping, there wasn’t enough of it on the slice. THEYONLYACCEPTCASH and there is an ATM inside. The servers are friendly and helpful. I totally recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza.

Busy spot, indicating it’s good. Hubby and I were roaming around City Market and the smell was just too good not to get. It was amazing! Had a beer while we waited. Friendly staff and even better pie.

It may be because I’m a Floridian and I know what good pizza tastes like, but I wasn’t completely blown away by this pizza.* Firstly I need to remind you that this establishment is cash only. It’s kind of an inconvenience for us non cash carriers to even walk into a restaurant in 2016 and see that they don’t accept card. It may be trendy back in the 90s but it’s time to get with the times. Especially considering I’m a tourist and I don’t like carrying too much cash. And yes there’s an ATM but I completely loathe the idea of «buying» my own money. Anyways, we were a party of 5 — and the hostess sat us at a 4 top. Okay… We sat outside which was fine because it was a gorgeous Savannah night but we were definitely cramped and I’m pretty sure I elbowed the people next to me a few times. Our waitress was a tall brunette and albeit she was efficient, she was unfriendly and sort of rude. We tried to strike up conversation with her several times but she wasn’t having it. She was busy too so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. The pizza itself wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great but it was pretty cheesy and I like my pizza with lots o cheese. But that’s really it. There were more cons than pros to be honest. Decent food but bad service and really cramped seating. Not sure if I would come back truthfully but I’d say it’s an experience for those curious to check it out. Just don’t go in with high standards because you’ll be disappointed. *DISCLOSURE: Florida has a lot of transplanted NYers who happen to own pizzerias, so yes. I do know good pizza. Plus my family is from NY. Please don’t send me compliments mocking this fact.

As a New Yorker I can claim this is the best NY style pizza in Savannah or maybe in the entire State of Georgia. Great flavors, thin, huge slices. The spinach was fresh and the pizza cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, it’s cash only. However, they have an ATM or you can walk to the SunTrust ATM few step down.

There is a pizza place in Atlanta just like this, we call it Fellini’s. I love that the pizza is Neopolitan which means it has your fresh, basic ingredients, and typically more sauce than cheese. It tastes excellent. You heard me right, the hype is real! Each slice is huge! I could only eat one but if you’re a big eater you can definitely scarf down more. Your basic slice will run $ 5 each with toppings. They offer beers that range from $ 3-$ 5. Overall worth the stop if you want a great pizza pie. They do have wait lines at times so be patient.

Really solid pizza. The slices are humongous so show up with an appetite. I really love that you can customize single slices. I was feeling a little silly after drinking a large slushy from Wet Willies down the street and needed some food to fill my belly. I ordered a red pepper, onion, and sausage slice and really hit the spot! They were about to close so I took mine to go so I can’t really comment on the service. Cash only so show up with some dollahz.

Vinnie Van Go Go’s is what I miss most about when I used to live in Savannah. Pizza by the slice is the way to go so you can customize your slice with the toppings of your choice, and they definitely don’t skimp on the toppings! The pizza dough has great flavor, and the topping choices are great, and did I mention plentiful??? I highly recommend the ham, spicy italian sausage, and green olives, yum! Skip eating here at peak hours if you can since the wait can be rough, and try to eat a late lunch/dinner here to avoid the crowds. And make sure to bring cash, they don’t take credit cards.

The. Best. Pizza. In. Savannah. No, this isn’t up for debate lol! If you know a better spot please let me know. …& if you say Sweet Melissa’s please. Carry on –__– lol. Seriously I never really knew I liked thin crispy pizza until I came here. They are good every time! I only get pepperoni now a days. You can taste how authentic it is. From the dough to the sauce to the crust! Trust me it’s good. Real cheese… real toppings & fresh ripe pizza sauce. I can’t leave Savanah w/o a slice. I love um! Hope you do too! Only con is that they don’t carry the best cider beer but hey it’s cool.

Why five stars? Star 1: Slice size. Just two slices basically filled a pizza box. I have nothing more to add. Star 2: Pizza quality. Pizza is a big deal where I live, and these guys make one darn good pie. Star 3: Price. It only cost $ 5.89 for those two slices. That’s nutty! Star 4: Convenience. Easy to access in the City Market. Star 5: Life. Saver. I fell on my face crossing River Street earlier(like, in the street) and now I’m pretty bruised up. This resulted in a last minute reservation cancelation due to intense pain and no desire to have a sit down meal anymore. Van Go-Go’s to the rescue! I only knew about this place because someone had a pie infecting the hotel elevator yesterday. Someone who works at the hotel confirmed then that it’s one of the best options for pizza in the city. I’ll agree on that one!

This New York style pizza is pretty good. Nothing like the«amazing» reviews that are posted. I enjoyed my slice of pepperoni and walked out spending around $ 3.50 not that bad at all. Oh yea they only take cash. Will I be in a hurry to return next time im in the area?.. I think not. At least I can say I’ve been to Vinnie Van Go-Go’s!

Vinnie Van Go-Go’s is awesome! Whenever I go down to Savannah, I want to sample all of the culinary delights that the city has to offer, but I always just end up going back to the tried and true pizza of Vinnie Van Go-Go’s. I seriously think I’ve been back every time I’ve gone down to Savannah. Remember that they do not accept credit or debit cards, which I forget just about every time. They do have a convenient ATM inside though. There is indoor seating, but the way to do Go-Go’s is outside. They have seating around the side of the restaurant and they also have seating in the front. This is a great location right in the middle of City Market which is always bustling. Great location for some solid people watching. The pizza here is great! It is thin NY style and really some of the best. Reasonably priced, good flavor, plenty of toppings to choose from, great crust, by the slice or pizza to share. I mean it’s seriously just a win win. The sauce is good and the crust will leave you happy. It’s greasy as this style normally is, but not so much so that you are scared for your arteries. I recommend ordering a large and taking some to go. You will definitely be craving it after you leave. I would also recommend getting a pitcher with your meal. They are reasonably priced as well. They have some local selections that you get in a pitcher including Swamp Fox IPA by Moon River Brewing right down the road. This place has kind of a divey hipster vibe. The service here is always good and everyone is friendly and accepting. Don’t seem to have a bias against tourists and out of towners, which is always nice while traveling. If you are looking for some good pizza and a nice atmosphere in city market to have a beer and dinner with some friends, Vinnie Van Go Go’s is the perfect option. I will inevitably be back. I highly recommend.

Everyone in Savannah raves about Vinnie Van Go-Go’s. When a friend found out I hadn’t eaten there yet, she gave me a look of pure terror. For an hour. Anyways, today was the day I would change that. I went in for a quick slice before heading to church. Here’s what you need to know about Vinnie Van Go-Go’s– they only accept cash. They have an ATM inside of the store, so no worries if you don’t have any on you. They also serve New York Style pizza – so none of that stuffed crust nonsense. I ordered a slice with tomatoes, pepperoni and feta. Each slice is around $ 2 with $ 0.50−0.75 for each topping. The slices are also huge! Don’t over-order. My slice took a little while to cook, but these guys are making gooey goodness hot and fresh, so I cut them a break. When I tell you, this was the pizza of cheat day dreams. The Ingredients were so fresh and it was baked just perfectly. I haven’t been eating pizza a lot lately, but I’m so glad I made this exception. If you’re out and about in City Market, make sure to grab a slice and a brew from VVGG – after a while, typing that name gets to ya. Keep it tasty Savannah.
