I almost hesitate to write this review for fear of «outing» my «secret pool». However, it probably could use more business so it won’t shut down, which would cause me to be really sad. I’m from Schaumburg originally and went to this pool as I kid. However, I now live in the City of Chicago. For those of you who are city transplants like myself –you can relate: there are all these ridiculous rules at the city pools. Example 1) Only one hour of swimming per day. The rest of the time is dedicated to lessons or certain groups(Kids Only, Youth Only, Short people only, etc etc). 2) Some don’t let you bring in magazines –how am I supposed to be entertained? 3) Way too crowded, since they are usually FREE. So, my mom rediscovered Bock and invited me out and I was impressed. There are maybe 20 people here at the most. Pretty quiet, no slides, nothing fancy –just a pool, two diving boards and lounge chairs. $ 6 cover charge. Adults only on Sundays from 10:30 — 12:15pm and then everyone can swim. Yeeeeea. Ironically, much more all-inclusive than the diverse City of Chicago. Hmmmm, makes me wanna move back. Anyway, I really think it’s worth the drive out to come here based on so many factors so I make the trip and then do the other things I miss in Schaumburg while I’m at it –Kohl’s, IKEA, Sushi Station(close to the mall) etc. I’m happy to have found this«diamond in the rough» and I’ll be back.
