This CVS is the only drug store and pharmacy in Scotia. It is very clean and is fully stocked with everything you would need and expect. However, the pharmacy is notoriously slow. There are as many as five people behind the pharmacy counter with only one or two being licensed pharmacists. The rest, clerks and technicians, rarely help customers at the cash register. There are two registers but only one is ever utilized. If the customer ahead of you has a problem with their prescription(and they always do) you will be in line for twenty minutes while the other cash register collects dust. Another problem is that the pharmacy technicians will yell out the name of your prescription in front of everyone. No secrets here. In fairness the pharmacists are quite nice and very knowledgable but the technicians are quite rude. Calling the pharmacy with a question is often met with sighs and frustration. At the front of the store, where there are four registers, only one is used. If a person in front of you has a cart of merchandise you are in for a long wait. I come here often due to its convenient location but I have taken to getting my prescriptions filled at the Rite Aide in Schenectady, Rite Aide is much faster and is a more professional experience. Even driving the longer distance to Schenectady is quicker than waiting in line at the Scotia CVS. This is a real shame.
