This was a great experience! There were tons of trees to choose from, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and my kids loved the hayride to and from the farm. Up at the tree farm there was a campfire with marshmallows ready for roasting. They had cookies, hot chocolate and a warm fire waiting in a little barn when we got back. The model train above the fireplace was a great touch. The whole experience was festive and fun. We will definitely go back next year. Just minutes from Cabelas, this family owned and operated tree farm is a must.

May peace be your gift. Our holiday season always begins with Ruffs. On tree day, a large group of friends gather at our house for breakfast before convoying to Schuylkill County in search of the perfect fresh Fraser Fir. From there to Stoudt’s for lunch; it has been our lasting tradition. When you arrive, you’re immediately greeted by very kind folks, a cozy, blazing fire in the fireplace at the lovely antique barn, free hot chocolate and cookies. The wait is never long for the tractor to pick you up for your hayride over the hill to the tree farm where you can cut down your own tree or select one to be cut for you. I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who chooses their Christmas tree months in advance and tends to it over the months before harvesting. The farm is dog-friendly and the owner is always happy to see that Mary is still able to make the trip. He walks towards her with a delightful smile as he calls to let her know he hasn’t forgotten her name. The prices are good(don’t forget to tip the workers who are bailing and loading your tree) and $ 2.00 of every purchase is donated to the local SPCA. That should tell you a little about the likableness of the people managing this family farm which has been around since 1939. Fraser Fir, Concolor Fir, Douglas Fir, Canaan Fir, Turkish Fir and up to 12′ tall. My only wish is for the option to one day purchase an organic tree here.
