This place was literally disgusting ! We ordered our food after 35 min they come back to tell me that they dont have what i ordered. Then i re order and it was so disgusting i only ate some cause i had to pay for it. The biscuits and gravy does NOT look like whatever picture was taken on here. It was canned gravy. I asked for mashed potatoes and gravy and i got mashed potatoes w yhe same gravy for the biscuits ?? My husband got the hot link sandwich on a french roll it was a burger bun w a wiener cut in half ??? Never in my life will i waist my money here it was fucking awful to say the least.

This was the worst experience and food I’ve had thus far in Monterey !! They waited 35 min after ordering our food to tell me what I ordered wasn’t ava then the food I actually received was just plain awful. I don’t know when are what the deal is w the pix on this business were but they are NOT what you get. the biscuits and gravy was from a can it tasted like and the omelette was a freaking joke.

This is a definitely a great hidden local diner meets chow hall spot! Once we discovered it, my family and I can longer go back to any other diners in the area. If you look past some of the outdated décor, you will find that there is more to it than meets the eye. Friendly customer service and good food! This is a weekend regular spot for my family and I! Warm and hospitable atmosphere for families!

After 12 check ins, I thought I would write a review. Almost everything I have ordered was very good. Only one exception in all my visits was their Thursday special, corned beef and cabbage. It was very salty. Considering their ocean town location, I find their prices very fair. We often drive there for breakfast. It starts our day. I find their breakfasts outstanding. Portions tend to be generous. I like the variety of choices. It is one of those places, if they have it, they will make it. I was never an oatmeal eater — now I am. They provide brown sugar and raisins. It isn’t unusual to see tourists stop in. It just may be the best option in the Seaside area.

We’re here for breakfast, pretty awesome SOS biscuits and gravy he. Also got a cabana it, not bad but they seem to use Thin sliced deli ham. I’ll probably try it with the sausage patty next time. Very good service all around.

My most awful experience is getting your order and tasted like it has been prepared for days. Brought to their attention regarding the issue and of course asked whether I would like to order something different. Not knowing how they’re handling the issue I went right ahead and ordered regular hamburger no fries. Got the tab and saw my hamburger cost me $ 9.49. I questioned the charge and she said«since you ate the soup on your first order it includes with my hamburger tab». $ 9.49 for a cup of soup & regular hamburger is pretty expensive, if I would have known I would have gone to McDonald’s for Jalapeño double burger. Otherwise they do an excellent job doing their rounds on drinks refill and anything else you need. The only issue is customer service satisfaction.

Great diner –style food. Excellent thick bacon on my BLT. Plenty of tables so there was no wait. Waitress was attentive but didn’t make us feel rushed. They even have a real jukebox.

Its great to have an old fashioned, local diner in a tourist oriented area. We go in for breakfast or lunch as often as possible, as do many of our local friends. Excellent service, good food and fair prices.

The staff were really nice, but the food was super subpar, and too expensive for what it was. The omlettes come with some kind of jar salsa on top(pretty sure it was tostitos). It was pretty unsatisfying. The omelette was also much small than other nearby café type places. The French Toast was okay, but again much smaller quantity than other nearby places. This place is just very… okay. I liked the atmosphere. It was truly nifty.

We were visiting my husbands son, wife and kids and wanted to get a quick breakfast while we waited for them to get ready for the aquarium and we came across this place. We love to find mom and pop, hole in the wall kinds of places. This one definitely looks like it’s name. I ordered a veggie omelet with a side of fruit and grits(I gave those to my husband). The menu said it was a 4-egg omelet but I’ve seen 3 egg omelets twice as big so I think not. It was just alright. Satisfied my hunger but that’s about it. The fruit was not very fresh. I tasted the grits and they were okay. My husband had the pancake platter with eggs over medium and bacon. His eggs were NOT medium. They were pretty darn runny. We gave them to the dog. The pancakes were average at best. Total check was about $ 25, which is pretty average. All in all, it satisfied our immediate needs but we would not go back.

Went here for the first time yesterday for breakfast, my boyfriends plate was good because he got the French Toast but my blueberry pancakes were very undercooked… probably won’t be going here again. The hot chocolate was good though lol

I stop here quite regularly for a hearty breakfast. The food is great and the staff are always pleased to see us :) This is a place where many locals go and there are many repeat customers — so it just goes to show what good customer service they have. Despite not living locally, I always feel welcome and my coffee mug is always kept full! I rate Nifty 50 Café 5 stars for service and reasonably priced, family style dining. What’s not to like about that?! We will be back!

Enjoyed quiet breakfast here… Food was okay, have had better but it filled us up. Our waitress was super! Very friendly and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. She deserved 5 stars with the food a solid 3. So split it and went with a 4 :)

Went here yesterday for breakfast with my daughter and father before we took off to return back to WA state. Cute little diner. Very warm and friendly hosts who make sure everything is good and your coffee is full. I really enjoy a good pancake and they had AMAZING pancakes! I will definitely be back the next time I am in Seaside!

We stopped in for a Sunday afternoon lunch from a friend’s suggestion. It was easy to get parking in their parking lot. There was one server and cashier running the place and only a few tables were occupied. Since the place wasn’t that busy we got a seat right away. The server took our drink order right away. I ordered a hamburger with a side salad. The salad bar was very small and the salad was so so fresh. When my hamburger came out, it looked pretty small and pretty plain on the empty plate. The burger was ok, but the buns could have been toasted more.
