Nine Lives Tattoo

I had gone to another shop asking about getting a tattoo. They were more than willing to put me on their schedule, but they wanted payment pretty much up front. At the time I didn’t have it. I contacted Josh by phone to see his scheduling policy, and he said «Sure-I’ll work you in». He was able to get me in Saturday night after his normal hours. He drew up my design and had it on my wrist in no time! I love it. Josh was willing to accommodate ME and MY schedule, and took his time to make sure my tattoo was exactly what I wanted. I love my new art. I highly recommend going to Josh. Thank you, Josh. It’s beautiful.

Josh is the best! My boyfriend and I were on a day trip from Portland to Seaside on Sunday and he managed to squeeze both of us in as walk-​ins that afternoon. All we had were basic design ideas, and Josh was great about helping us find the perfect designs. My boyfriend got a rad octopus design from one of Josh’s books, and since I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for Josh put together a skull and rose design for me that was perfect! They both turned out in awesome American Traditional style. Plus Josh was super friendly and fun to talk to, and the price was great for the quality we received. We will definitely be back the next time we’re hit with tattoo fever! A++!

GO HERE!!! Josh was amazing. My sister and I went into his shop around the 4^th of July. He took our idea and made it into a tattoo just for us, not just something we pulled off the internet. Prices were great and the quality of work was amazing. Even though my sister and I got smaller tattoos he put a lot of care into them. I know the 4^th is a really big time for tourists around Seaside and he was able to squeeze us in. Next time in Seaside I will definitely be back.

AMAZING. Go here!!! I went here ten years ago for my first tattoo and decided to come back for my 5^th. Josh is wonderful. Clean, professional, and friendly service. Our daughter died in January so my husband and I went in to get memorial tattoos. Josh stayed past closing time to finish our pieces. A++.

As far as tattoo shops go, Nine Lives truly is as good as it gets! Josh is amazing! Went there because my friend had previously gotten a tattoo from the same place years ago, and both of us decided we wanted to get tattoos while on our impromptu getaway. She had work done last night and it turned out great! He interacted with her and I, really friendly and witty. This is key when you are getting a tattoo and will be laying there for an extended amount of time doing nothing else other than focusing on not moving. After conversing a bit, I knew I wanted him to do a piece for me. We had been contemplating staying overnight, and knowing he had availability today sealed the deal for us, so that I could also have him do a piece for me!
He custom designed a morning glory piece for me, with minimal input from myself (I’m not the artsy type, and my other tattoos are all basic symbols/​outlines, save for one colored word) that I had done today (after we decided to stay overnight so I could be tattooed by him) and it’s beautiful — I love it. He was very nice about making minor changes and took the piece very seriously, which I really appreciate because I put a lot of thought into what I want. He does offer flash and has several pages up on the walls, too.
Getting a tattoo is no painless effort for me — I’m kind of a pansy when it comes to it, actually, but this was my 6^th and the time passed much quicker with him doing the work. I felt comfortable with him doing my largest piece yet, and in color. The shop feels like a tattoo shop, which I love, but also feels clean, it walks the fine line to a point (no pun intended).
I live in Portland, approximately an hour and a half away, but knowing that I will get a tattoo in the future, I can say with confidence that I will be back for more work, and will strongly recommend Josh to anybody looking for somebody who knows what they are doing.
Also of note, the price on my tattoo I felt was far MORE than reasonable, and unlike several tattoo shops, he also takes cards.
