Nice atmosphere and staff, but the food is subpar. Biscuits and gravy was a gelatinous mess. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

I find myself at Alki Bakery 2 to 3 times a week for lunch. The reason for this loyalty? The Blue Plate Special! For $ 6.99 plus tax you get a full meal including drink and that is a bargain that is very hard to find these days. My favorites are Tuesday’s Chicken Parm with Pesto Pasta, Wednesday’s Pork Loin with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans and sometimes I’ll go on Friday for the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. All tasty and a bargain at that price. If the Blue Plate isn’t your thing there are the sandwiches and soup there for the having. I particularly like the Egg Salad, Chili and Clam Chowder. The baked goodies are also tempting so give it a go sometime. You will find something that you will like.

Stopped in here for a quick morning snack while waiting for a meeting to start. I ordered a slice of banana bread. It was good, nothing special. The counter person seemed somewhat disinterested in customers. The dining area was clean. Nothing to complain about here, but nothing to really bring me back again either.

Solid sandwich offerings although I have had some with rather dry bread. The quality of the meats and«lunch specials» are really great. A great place for seating and parking which during business lunch hours makes it a great option for our office staff.

What would happen if Subway secretly opened another chain, but had the same lame service and food? Alki Bakery. This place is LAME, food is BLAND, and atmosphere is BORING… just like the locals of the area that seem to think so much of this place. Just starve or get some french friest at McDonalds.

What a find! Wish we had a quick option like this on the eastside. Incredibly reasonable prices with nothing more that $ 10. Cafeteria style with salad, soup, sandwich and Italian pasta options as well as bakery treats. Lots of seating on the main and upper level and also outside. Plenty of parking too. Unheard of at the noon peak across the pond. My roast beef sandwich was a pleasant surprise on fresh sour dough and a stack of meat. The Caesar was a decent portion with crisp lettuce and just the right amount of dressing. Great quick lunch!

Whenever I am in Seattle, this little spot is close to where I work so I will often get breakfast and/or lunch there. I have never once been disappointed with the meal I recieve. The food is fresh and flavorful. The breakfast scrambles are always a hit and the lunch salads and especially the tuna salad sandwiches are top notch. not the nicest area of town, but if you are there, and need breakfast or lunch, you would have to look pretty hard to find better.

It was ok. I had a turkey sandwich and a chai latte. The chai was fine. The turkey sandwich was pretty bland. The turkey meat was not the best quality and frankly I ended up giving most of the meat to my dog. I guess it’s what you would get at most sandwich places of equal price points, except the pastries here are way more inviting.

I’ll give it to Alki Bakery for having fair prices for their food. And the line even moves pretty quickly despite having two cashiers and a dozen folks in line. But the food quality itself was below par… I had a ham and swiss sandwich, it was literally a slice of ham and a slice of swiss, a mound of dijon mustard and some lettuce and tomatoes. It really only tasted like mustard. I wasn’t impressed despite it only being a few bucks.

I ate here Friday with a colleague. The food was really good, piping hot, well prepared, and the service was outstanding. I arrived early and the told the cashier that I wanted an iced tea while I waited for the other person in our party. She gave me the cut, said«help yourself», and we will ring it up when you order all your food. Uncommonly great service.

I haven’t been in to Alki Bakery since they left Alki, but I remember them having good food and even better coffee. Don’t know what happened today, but ick. The banana bread I had was bland and greasy. The quad shot white mocha tasted downright funky, like the flavoring was off? I’m usually a quad breve girl(all espresso, with steamed half and half) and skip the flavored coffee drinks. Wish I’d stuck to my usual instead of ordering this. It was awful. Since this«new» location is rarely on my way to/from anywhere, I’ll be unlikely to stop in for a visit in the future, but my friends assure me this isn’t the norm. One extra star for the friendly service and clean, open space.

Food is alright. Came here with some coworkers, seeking noms away from SODO. I ordered the albacore tuna salad and coworkers ordered sandwiches. I probably should have asked for a description of the salad because when it was brought to the table, it was basically mushed canned tuna mixed with mayonnaise scooped onto lettuce. It reminded me of cat food I saw once but molded in the shape of what came out of an ice cream scoop. I wasn’t a fan of the vinaigrette either. Blah. Everything was bland. The presentation was offputting, I didn’t really want to eat it. I ate most of it and left the mix of water and creamy mayo in the bowl. Anyways. Coworkers seemed pretty pleased with their meal. This place is laid out in a cafeteria style fashion. Service is friendly and helpful.

Ordered coffee here this morning… probably my last visit. They never fill the cup all the way, leaving two inches of space from the rim. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

This place was a lot better before but service and quality of food has declined a bit. It looks like they closed their Alki location and expanded this one. The other location was better. This one is not convenient and one that I would drive out of my way for like I used to. Probably won’t be back unless it is by accident.

I went to Alki Bakery for lunch on a whim after having a co-worker mention she liked their salads and also wanting to get out of the office. I pulled in around 11:30 and the parking lot was truly a terror. I was able to find a spot after a big truck pulled out. It was extremely packed though considering their parking lot is pretty large and free. The lobby was extremely busy and at first I was a bit overwhelmed but it turned out those folks were waiting on their coffee/espresso orders(who knew they were so popular for coffee?) There were signs everywhere on how to order and menus for you to take with, etc. I had already looked online and had an idea of what I wanted so I was pretty quick to get my order going. I ordered the penne marinara and a side caesar with a drink. The girl was quick to take my order and send me with a tray with a number to get myself seated. The ‘directions’ say that you should grab your utensils and seat yourself and wait for your food to be delivered. I grabbed my fountain drink and utensils but for the life of me could not find the napkins. Everyone who was seated had napkins but they didn’t have them out nor were they on the tables via a dispenser. That’s when it hit me that they give them TO you when they hand you your food. I don’t like places like that. Not when you paid over $ 10 for your lunch. Even McDonald’s leaves the napkin dispensers out so you can grab as many as you need if you are a messy eater, etc. My food finally arrived and I have to say I was pretty disappointed. Not only was my salad not that great(the salad was literally brown and wilted) but the penne marinara was actually cold and the cheese had solidified. It was around 10 mins or so wait for the food so I’m not sure how the food got cold so quick(unless it was pre-made and sat under a heat lamp). And the sauce was just eh and dry. I realized after the fact that perhaps I shouldn’t have come to a place for lunch expecting good ‘food’ when they’re known for being a bakery or a café. But then again, don’t offer up a whole menu of food items and box lunches if you can’t produce a decent quality product. The place only got busier as the lunch hour went on but I have to say it was pretty disappointing when I was hoping to enjoy some nice pasta and a salad. I would skip it and maybe next time only get something from the bakery(like the desserts or croissants, etc) but definitely don’t come here for the ‘lunch’ food.

Our HR team at work had a retreat and for lunch, our organizer set us up to eat at Alki Bakery. It was awesome! We had our own room upstairs, that sat around 15 people, and we were able to close the door to get some work done while we were eating lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that the organizer was able to book the space with such short notice! Way to go Alki Bakery! You made our HR retreat a success!

I always thought they had good salads, but MAN have they stepped up their game in the last few months. It looks like you guys pack these a little tighter with more veggies and meat! Lots of great flavor. Thumbs up to you guys! Also, a HUGE fan of the Fish Tacos. I was ordering at least every week for a while.

I love Alki Bakery! Their delicious chocolate chip cookies are the size of my face and are soft and gooey. Their salmon Caesar salad had plenty of salmon, so much so that after eating the fillet I was pretty well full. Their grilled cheese sandwich was ooey and gooey and delightfully delicious! The little apple on the side is perfect palate cleanser. Parking never seems that troublesome. There’s usually street parking or the lot in the back. The line can build up fast, but the staff works their way through it pretty quick. They’re not the friendliest, all business, but for as little as I interact with them I don’t care. Depending on what is ordered depends on how quick the food comes out. If you’re in a hurry order a sandwich.
