Atlas Van Lines International

I used this company for a local/​short move in Tacoma. They broke a television, an electric fireplace and my couch. They absolutely refused to fix or pay for any damages. After a long drawn out exchange with the company. I settled for an amount to try and get the furniture fixed instead of replaced. It was one of the most awful experiences I have had in moving and I have moved a lot being in the military. This company is not professional at all. The movers showed up late and took smoke breaks every thirty minutes. One even had his girlfriend there with him. They took a two hour lunch and then attempted to charge me for six hours of work. I paid them for five at $ 100 dollars an hour. They did not want to give me a receipt. He scribbled «paid in full» on a sheet of paper. After they left is when I discovered they tried to hide all the damages. I immediately called their home office to file a claim and sent pictures of all the damages. First they advised me that the damages were already there. Then they sent a furniture repair person to check out the damages. Then they charged me a $ 300 deductible. I questioned the deductible and was told that the estimate (with is a nonbinding estimate) had language about insurance. Their was no contract. I settle for an amount to repair my belongings less the $ 300 deductible. I wanted to end this awful experience and move on. I do not recommend this company at all. I thought Atlas Van Lines was a legitimate company. They are not!!! The Atlantic Relocation Systems is contracted/​affiliated with Atlas Van Lines. It is worth sitting down with a legitimate company to insure they have appropriate/​professional movers. It may cost a small amount more but I’m sure they will respect your property. I hope my mistake will help others. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Every thing went wrong! They were extremely late because their first job was in green lake & it was too big & they didn’t consider Seattle traffic time?!? So the job was 3:30 to 7:00 pm on a Thursday night. Not even finished at 7 I was struck with boxes up to the ceiling!

We hired Atlas Van Lines for a move from Kirkland, WA to Sacramento, CA. Everything went smoothly until the movers showed up. Two movers to pack and load an entire semi? We did get several other movers out to help, and they were all wonderful to work with, no complaints. The problem was when they took our belongings to the weigh station. I have never seen such shoddy work! They broke every single plastic file box we own, our entertainment center and some other furniture, and lost several items. Even though we paid extra $$ for the insurance coverage, it did not cover the cost of replacement for the items lost and broken. It really looked like some of the items were purposely broken. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone looking to move.
