One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. Make sure to get the prosciutto and the filet. Great ingredients well-sourced. Looking forward to the new sister restaurant opening across the street in the Amazon building!

This restaurant is really good. Given the greatness of the food, I would not call it pricey at all. I went there for Foie Gras. After half an hour wait, I found that they changed the menu and foie gras is no longer being served. I then ordered something else(I don’t know the Italian names). And they all taste great! Inside you do feel you are in a metropolitan area with the right atmosphere the smart and good looking people. Then you go outside, realizing it is still Seattle where construction sites are everywhere.

4.9 stars for me. Though I live on the Eastside, any trek into Seattle isn’t complete without a stop at Barolo for happy hour. The food is fantastic and they offer so many great selections I don’t have enough space to articulately describe them here. Take my advice, come in, eat until your close to bursting, then come back tomorrow and try whatever you didn’t get around to yesterday. This would’ve been a five star review for me, as the food is that good, but I was charged full price for food during happy hour and didn’t catch the mistake until I’d already arrived home. Our group was in a rush to catch a show and I paid the bill without looking. My mistake there, but the server made an error in charging full price during HH.

My girlfriend and I went here yesterday. Great ambience. Swanky settings. Immediately shown to our table. The food however was below par. The house ravioli I had was mediocre and bland and the veal that my girlfriend had was basically unchewable. The harried waitress did offer to swap it out if needed but it was late and we just wanted to get it over with. So basically everything was great except the food. At a $ 100 before tips for an appetizer, two entrees and a glass of wine you expect the food to be delicious.

Superb service and mouthwatering food. If I could get a way with just that headline as my review, I would. But instead, I’ll elaborate more. 1)We were a party of 5 for my birthday. About five days prior, I made a reservation for 3 people. I followed up two days later to extend the party and they had no problem, keeping the same time slott. 2)We were finished with drinks at our previous spot early. When we arrived 20 minutes before our reservation, they had no problem seating us. On a saturday night? This was an unexpected delight. 3)I wish I’d gathered our server’s name. He was a tall, handsome italian man who perfectly timed everything. We never felt rushed and he was always patient. 4)Antipasto: ***Artichoke hearts: served over a bed of arugula, with olives and tomatoes… this was DELICIOUS. The dipping sauce didn’t overpower and it was enough for each of us to taste. ***Chefs choice platter: a little bit of everything: salumi, Caprese and eggplant. Can’t go wrong with this. ***Escargot: I’ve never had it and now I’M OBSESSED. Sooooooooo tender and meaty… I was accompanied by people who’ve had it before and they all agreed this was the best rendition they’ve ever had. 5) We had a sparkling rose with the antipasto, pre-made course. A bottle was enough for each of us to have a full glass. So refreshing! For our main course we shared a bottle of red. I wish I was paying attention the names because they were both spectacularly paired with our offerings. My godparents who were with us own a winery and had no problem conversing with our server to choose the best labels. 6) I had the Rabbit Linguine. *****When an Italian family keeps commenting on how fresh the pasta is, it’s a sure sign that this place definitely knows what they are doing***** Everyone’s pasta had just enough bite. Kudos to the Barolo chefs who craft these wonderful dishes. I’ve also never had rabbit and again, I’M HOOKED. Tender and full of flavor, the rabbit took center stage while the sauce tied everything together. I could’ve have asked for a better end to my birthday. I will always think of barolo when considering where to dine for special occassions.

Barolo has been excellent since I started coming here in 2009! Every time that I’m in Seattle i make an effort to stop by. This is one of the few places in Seattle that I feel 100% comfortable in letting my stylish side hang out. The bar is always packed with beautiful people and it can be hard to get a seat before 8/9pm. The pasta dishes are amazing as well as the entrees. The place also has a great Italian wine list if that is your thing.

Great food, service and a cool contemporary interior! We were waiting for a show at the Paramount and in the mood for Italian food. Unilocal gave this place very good reviews so thought why not. Man the bar was pack and it was only 5 pm, which is usually a good sign. Thank god we did not need reservations, but I would make them next time. We were met quickly by the hostess and sat at table. The interior of Barolo is very cool, hanging lights and mirrors; at first I thought this place was huge, but it is the mirrors. Service was great and prompt. They brought bread out with a bit of dipping sauce; which was fantastic. Wine selection was good and ranged from decent prices to I am going to write this off as a business expensive price. We ordered the Gnocchi con Mozzarella Fresca and Vitello al Tartufo Nero(veal). The gnocchi was very good and the red sauce was amazing, one of my favorites in Seattle for sure and the veal was nicely done, had great taste, but we thought maybe too much lemon. Portions were on the smaller-side but with the bread and apps you will definitely not go hungry. Overall a great place with a cool vibe and great service!

If you’re looking for an upscale candle-light dinner then this is the place to take a date. Everything from the décor to lighting and table arrangement added to the romantic ambiance. There’s also valet parking starting at 5pm and only costs $ 10 for the night. That means you don’t have to worry about finding street parking and you can wander the downtown area after dinner with peace of mind. Your car will be parked in a covered garage, just make sure to retrieve it prior to the valet shutting down. Okay, enough about parking, onto the actual dinner. First off, the service was fantastic! The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She thoroughly explained the dishes we had questions on, helped us to pronounce the fancy Italian words, and readily checked on our table. I don’t think my glass ever fell below a quarter empty. The food was also equally on par, though a little on the pricier side so this establishment would probably fall under the $$$ side than $$. Our meal consisted of Calamari con Farro for appetizer and couple dishes under Le Paste for the main course– all equally delicious. My spaghetti w/pork belly ended up being the perfect portion size, not too small and not overly filling. Reservations can fill up pretty quick so make sure you reserve online or over the phone at least 3 days prior. Anything later you’ll be looking at limited availability. Also, I heard this place has a pretty good daily happy hour. Which reminds me the bar area was pretty packed during our dinner so looks like I’ll have to come back for a drink sometime.

Came here on a Sunday and they had all day happy hour. We sat at the bar and proceeded to order. We got the prosciutto di Parma plate, tuna tartare and the house ravioli. All three were really good. Probably one of the better Italian restaurants in Seattle. Service was nice and fast. Definitely recommend coming during happy hour for better pricing. You can also order from the dinner menu if you want while sitting in the bar area. The only thing that was subpar was their bread.

I’m giving four stars for one simple reason… All night Sunday happy hour… Sure is happy! The entire bar menu is half off and it’s pretty amazing. Top fave was the tuna tartare — spicy, fresh and citrusy. We also got the antipasto platter — average but generous portions and good to share with the table. The ravioli had the perfect blend of flavors — simple and cheesy! Finally we had the lentil soup, when you add some salt and pepper it’s delish. The other added bonus is: 1. the amazing wait staff(Bailey was our bartender and awesome), 2. intimate and inviting ambiance, 3. The incredible wine selection, and… 4. The amazing focaccia bread and tapenade… I could eat the whole thing. A definite Sunday night happy hour winner.

Went here for dine around Seattle and it’s a fantastic place for a date. Really nice atmosphere. We started with the duck carpaccio and the pear and bijou salad. I’m a big fan of duck but this plate had so many other flacked it drowned out the taste of the meat. Good but not great. I really liked the pear salad. I had the fish and my girlfriend had the gnocchi. Both were amazing! The fish has this light tomato sauce that is the perfect compliment to the fish and has kalamata olives in it. The gnocchi has lots of butter and spinach, nom nom! For desert we got the cannoli and bread pudding and both were great. One thing I thought was really cool was that we ordered a bottle of the Château Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon which we ordered from the by the glass part of the menu for $ 38 though our waiter thought we meant a different vintage that costed $ 52. When we brought it up with him after the meal he adjusted the cost to reflect what we thought it was supposed to be. Great service! Recommend checking this place for a date or nice meal.

I ate at Barolo with two of my other friends for Seattle Restaurant Week, so the food we got wasn’t from their regular menu but I was still expecting an amazing meal for my first time here. It was surprisingly crowded for a Monday night, but I made a reservation so we didn’t have to wait too long. It was a pretty fancy looking restaurant with dimmed lights and shiny chandeliers. The bathroom had mirrors everywhere and high quality paper towels, I was amazed. Now onto the food. We were served this garlic bread with some sauce on the side… Completely forgot to ask our server what was in it but it was delicious! We asked for two plates of them! For drinks, I got the Chardonnay ste Michelle Château(if that’s the right order of the word lol) in a glass, very tasty! The mushroom soup wasn’t my favorite thing to eat for this meal. There was some flavor to it but it didn’t have a kick to it. I think it was missing some salt, or something. I dipped one of the garlic breads in the soup and it tasted a little better. But the soup definitely needed some work, but I ate it all anyways because I was hungry and wanted to eat my money’s worth. The gnocchi… YES! It was like eating tiny cheesy dumplings in every bite. I absolutely loved this, and it was my first time eating gnocchi also so I was very delighted by how it tastes. The veggies added a nice flavor to it as well. The portion was perfect for me, I finished the whole plate but I was definitely getting full after eating two plates of bread and the soup. I was really excited for dessert though. The chocolate cake was a lot smaller than I was imagining, but still had a really rich chocolate flavor to it! It was very warm so you know it was made fresh. It’s drizzled in more chocolate and topped with a raspberry. Overall I was very satisfied with my first visit here. Our server was super friendly and gave us recommendations for certain items on the menu. I’ll try to come here outside of restaurant week to try things in their regular menu but it left a really good impression on me. This meal seemed a bit pricy for the $ 30 deal and some things on the regular menu was also pricey so I’ll probably try to come here for certain occasions. But I plan to return!

We had Birthday party here and were with a big group. They went above and beyond to make it a real happy birthday :) They even had the menus printed out with personalized birthday wishes. They gave us a big table and accommodated us nicely. I’m a salad girl, so you know I ordered salad and it was very simple and delicious. I ordered the burrata cheese salad and was very happy with my order. Other people orders the roasted lettuce Cesar salad and they loved it. My boy ordered the veal shank and of course I tasted it and it was amazing. One of the best veal dishes that I’ve ever had. We ordered drinks and I should say, although the drinks are tasty, but they are not very strong. I ordered the ginger whisky cocktail, loved it but didn’t give me the buz. I love the décor, very modern and stylish, it’s hard to find something similar in Seattle. I felt that it was my kind of a place to go in Seattle, I hid don’t know why I haven’t been. The crowd was also fun, young and stylish. They also have a nice outside seating area with heaters. This is located between downtown and SLU.

Great ambiance, good food and friendly service. They also get a plus point for staying open late. The food is in the $ 18-$ 25 range, and they have a good variety on the menu for seafood, vegetarians and meat lovers. All the food is flavorful and fresh. Overall a good place :)

Been here for srw, and it was a really good price for the lunch fare. My favorite couple took me out for happy hour. I had no idea this restaurant had the same owner as List(is this true? Someone please verify). We Ordered the veal with truffle arugula salad, lamb burger, lamb ragu rigatoni, ravioli, fried calamari… Happy hour is packed, and it goes from 4 – 630. Fried calamari and their aioli were my favorite, breaded just right. Calamari isn’t rubbery or tough, fried perfectly. Lamb ragu was done marvelously, pasta al dente and sauce with meat overload. Just a comforting dish done well. The other items were good, but just not rave worthy in my opinion. I would order them again with friends but not by myself. The restaurant will be packed, especially this bar area for happy hour. So be sure to have the patience to wait and eat sitting elbow to elbow to one another!

Overall — a 2.5 star, but here’s why: Ambiance — swaaaanky! This place is definitely for the cocktail dress and suit crowd. Dark, trendy music, and it seems like a good place for a special high-end occasion(birthday, impressing a date, stock jump, promotion). This of course, attracts a certain kind of people — pretty faces, perfect bone structure, nice physique, form fitting clothes, confidence. Intimidating, no. But I was admiring. Food — my favorite dish was the grilled calamari which I had as an app. Good flavor, great consistency — it was perfect. The other dishes were nothing to write home about — I had the lamb rigatoni, which wasn’t bad, not didn’t stand out to me. Pasta was fresh, but meh, didn’t really fare it any better from any other Italian place. Wife had the fettuccine with dungeoness crab, which she enjoy, but it was a bit salty. Portions weren’t huge, which brings me to price… Price — this is my biggest gripe. Portions were just right, but for the money, it wasn’t worth it. $ 20 for rigatoni and some lamb cubes? $ 29 for pasta in EVOO and some crab legs? I’ve definitely had better Italian for cheaper. And that’s the bottom line — who wants to pay more money for less quality? I certainly wouldn’t, and for that, I wouldn’t return here for dinner. Drink menu seems decent, and combined with the ambiance, it’s a place I would drop by for a drink if I’m trying to impress. But alas, I’m married, my sweatpants are comfy, and I’m trying to be fiscally responsible — I don’t have many occasions where I need to impress :)

Came here for happy hour. Pretty busy even on a rando weekday. Waited probably 20 minutes for a table for 3. Bar area only. Happy hour = 50% off a lot of items. We ordered quite a bit of food and a couple drinks. Was around $ 25pp. Nothing we ordered was good enough for a repeat, besides the grilled calamari! That was really good, like 5 star status. Besides that, everything was just kinda ok.

Happy hour review: We ordered the: Lamb burger Grilled calamari Grill caeser salad Rigatoni pasta with beef and veal sauce Clams Veal carpaccio Poached pears with hazelnut ice cream for dessert Everything was really good! I thought we had ordered a lot of food but we cleared everything. My favorite was probably the clams, grilled calamari, and poached pears. Super yummy and this place can get pretty crowded for hh. Service was okay. There seem to be only one waitress handling the whole bar area so it was slow at time.

Barolo is a pretty fancy looking restaurant close to downtown with great service! The food’s great and the staff super friendly .Been here a couple of times and would certainly recommend the Ravioli del Giorno and Gnocchi con Mozzarella Fresca !!
