Bob’s liquor has taken over the Old Italian Spaghetti House location. I’m not much one for hard liquor, but they do have a really nice section of locally-made artisan ciders that I’ve been slowly working my way through.

Prices are high, but that is everywhere in Washington… As far as Bobs review, where are you finding Jack for 17 dollars? Maybe before taxes… These guys list the after-tax price, so prices might appear more expensive The place is brand new inside and they have a bunch of types of booze to choose from Another really cool thing is that they have a small section that is purely local distilleries! Highly recommended that you check this place out!

I used to frequent the state liquor stores and now use the super markets for most of my purchases. I have driven past this store for a couple of months and needed to get some scotch recently. In walking in I had hoped the store would have some of the more difficult to find brands that I and many of the scotch drinkers I know can’t easily find, sadly this wasn’t the case. The Balvenie Double Wood is not stocked, Singleton not stocked, and pretty much all of the brands they had are the ones you can find at Safeway and QFC. I also was really surprised that about a quarter of the store is where wine stoppers and drink wares are. I say this as most of their wine stock is set up to only let you buy 1 or 2 bottles at a time as there are no cases to buy. I am hoping the store improves over time to have a more unique selection of spirits you can’t find elsewhere and larger wine selection in the future, until then I will only go here in a pinch.

Although this store has replaced what was once the Italian Spaghetti House, it is a pretty decent store and has a nice location right off Lake City Way. I have to admit, I don’t really venture into liquor stores often. Even the old state stores, I only was able to enjoy them for a solid 2 years before we ended up kicking them to the curb: P However, I can report on my personal experience(thanks Unilocal!) and it was nicely spaced, bright and had quite a bit of a selection. Obviously there’s liquor, but they also have cold cases for beer, some wine, and soda for mixers to throw in for good merit. What I liked most about the store was that their prices include ALL the taxes, including sales! It’s nice to not have to whip out my phone to figure out exactly how it’s going to cost. I don’t know if this is customary with other liquor stores, but it definitely requires some effort comparing prices when buying from the grocery store. Not here, it’s all out in the open at Bob’s :) Also, because the way stores price liquor really varies, it’s hard to say if it was cheaper or more expensive than the grocery store. If I could tell(especially if they trend on the cheaper end), I’d give them another star for sure! My only qualm was that the parking lot is really awkward, and their curbs can’t really accommodate traffic in both directions. So drive carefully, drink merrily, but hopefully not at the same time: D P. S.- There’s a green shop next door, and a strip club a couple blocks north. The liquor store makes a nice addition. Welcome to Lake City!
