If zero stars would be an option, that would be more warranted. Frankly, I’m shocked people enjoy this place. I’m not shocked to see other reviews refer to the unfriendly staff here. Unfriendly staff is an understatement. They’re completely rude. By «they’re» it’s one particular guy pouring beers and working the register. If you try to buy something he’ll chastise you for your choice or scream«THEREISGOINGTOBE A CORKINGFEEFORTHAT»…like, really? I’m at a bottle shop, I know the procedure, don’t be a jerk. This place is overpriced. Yes, it’s a small bottle shop, but they’re a solid $ 1 – 2 more per bottle(ATLEAST) than their competition in Seattle. They also display the beers poorly, the layout is cramped, and the place is dirty. I’d sit in a dumpster before sitting in this place. I really can’t believe it’s getting positive reviews based on everything I experienced… I held off a solid two months before writing this and I’m still steaming. I cringe every time I walk by. But seriously, they need a staffing overhaul and a broom.

Excellent place to hang out grab a couple of beers and just relax. I loved their cloudburst stout!

Pretty underwhelmed by the experience. Staff wasn’t very friendly. Beer selection was less than I expected. The store is dimly lit, which doesn’t really encourage shoppers to linger and hangout. Beer prices were also fairly expensive.

I’ve tried Bottleworks on two separate occasions over the past few years. Each time I went in with an open mind. Both times I’ve been extremely disappointed in the service. The person working the register and(occasionally) pouring beers ought to be ashamed of himself. Perhaps he should consider that a «little» customer service goes a long way. It would be one thing if this was the only bottle shop in Seattle but it’s not(see Chuck’s and The Beer Junction). I can’t believe anyone would choose to come here on a regular basis. If you can get past the moldy/musty smell that hits your face as you walk through the door and if you can get past the burned our lights in most of the beer coolers, then perhaps this is the place for you. I’m amazed that people frequent this dump.

This place is an amazing homage to all things beer. Huge selection, absolutely unpretentious, just true to the beer. And they have an awesome small bar in the middle of everything. One of my favorite places in town.

Small, cramped store in a trendy neighborhood surrounded by Asian restaurants. Parking in the back is nice. All the beer inside is refrigerated with a local section, cider section, Belgian section, etc. Lots of bombers; tons of local beers. They had a 1.5L or bigger of Fish Leviathan, which was pretty cool and not even that expensive. Good recommendations on cider from the staff. They have a tap list in the back and you can drink those on premise. De Dolle Oerbier on tap was pretty cool. Other than that, it’s a good bottle shop but you can find a similar selection at Pear Deli on Pike’s Place/Pike Market. Prices were high and a few special bombers didn’t have the price listed :/

Bottleworks is a big fat slice of beer heaven. This is where you should buy your beer! –Drive out of your way to support the place that is partially responsible for the entire West Coast Craft Beer Scene. –Enjoy a delicious draft beer while you shop. –Chat it up with the clerks and get the scoop on all the cool Seattle beer news. –Bring a small group and have a bottle share. Bottleworks has a more than adequate number of bottles and taps(peppered with rare finds) all stored properly in their dark beer temple. If you’re a corporate-beer-loving-costco-shopping-tommy-bahama-wearing-numbskull this may not be the place for you. But for the rest of us, this should a be a weekly stop to stock the fridge and enjoy the beauty of this perfect little beer shop.

Neat store, which lets you buy beer cans individually so that you can try a whole bunch of different ones Friendly service, beers on tap and they sell wine too. We bought a few cans and hung out at the long –wooden bar in the middle of the store. the interior is cool and pretty nice thought the exterior looks like a storefront, inside its a totally different ambience. Go in and try it out. Great beer selection, try something new.

Not only is this place in a great location and cool neighborhood– they have GREAT beer! Both on tap and in bottles. Staff is very knowledgeable and beer is very organized so if you need a quick grab of your favorite beer, then you’re golden.

Very great beer selection with reasonable prices. I used to not be into beer, but their huge selection has helped get me into beer. Favorites so far –The Commons Flemish Kiss and Hofbrau original. Staff seems to be very helpful and willing to give suggestions.

Bottleworks has been around for a while – they are the first dedicated beer store I can remember in the Seattle area. They have a great selection of bottles, plus they offer growler fills and even allow customers to drink draft beers in the store. The store feels pretty cramped and one constantly has to jostle for position with other customers. The staff knows beer very well and are always helpful, but not overly friendly. Bottleworks is a great resource in our city, and I’ll always be a customer.

One of best bottle selections in Seattle, top 3 definitely. A few hand selected draft beers available. Small space but a couple tables available and can open bottles for small corkage.

Holy beer heavan Batman, if you want it, they have it. Growlers… smart folks, good prices. Get your hop on buddy, because this is the place for you. Perks include growler filling fees that are very reasonable, a tasting bar area and super informed staff. Minuses would be parking o_O and a bunch of boys who work there who aren’t exactly high on the OCD level for cleaning leaving you with an ever so slight feeling of wondering what IS on the floor. Come for the beer… not the floor.

Right in the heart of Wallingford, you’ll find this beer mecca neatly tucked away on the corner in a cool old-timey building. When you walk in, you’ll find that it’s reminiscent of those more readily available 99-Bottles shops — but, quite a bit smaller and way less main-stream…this shop feels special! Don’t let the size fool you! I was very impressed at not only the selection, but the knowledge of the staff. I walked in asking for a certain German bier that I love and can typically only get at one of these types of places, and was a bit disappointed they didn’t carry it. This disappointment didn’t last for long! They were able to recommend a similar style beer that I had never tried. Before I knew it, the top was popped, the contents cascaded into my glass and my taste buds were dancing! Love that they’re pet friendly, too! :)

As good as it gets, indeed! Every square inch of this business is dedicated to beer. Bottles, cans, there’s even a bar and you can drink while you shop for drinks. I came here before Xmas to buy some beers for my dad who’s really particular and everything I managed to find was something he’d never tried before. Come here for rare, popular, local and foreign beers. Basically it’s the best beer shop you’ll find anywhere around. I especially loved that I was immediately asked if I needed help and wasn’t ignored as I shopped.

This is a great place to come in, try a new beer and have a conversation with a friend. I have been here a few times and look forward to coming back. Luckily it’s right by a friend’s house and I can always sucker him out to grab a beer with me. The guys that work there are great. I usually go there later at night and I have never been kicked out. They do last call and then let you wrap up your conversation at your own pace. For me, that is huge. I never feel rushed to finish my beer and get out the door. It’s more natural and enjoyable. I’m yet to buy a bottle but they have a huge bottle selection as well. If there was ever a type of beer you were after, I’m sure Bottleworks would be more than able to send you in the right direction. I definitely look forward to coming back soon.

Great place to get all sorts of imported beers and wine, even ciders. They are stocked wall to wall with tons of selections and plenty of things you have never even heard of. They even have a sitting area with a rotating tap where you can sit and have a beer. They do however charge $ .75 if you want a bottle of beer you just bought, opened to drink.

Bottleworks is a nice shop. They have a pretty good selection and likely have what you’re looking for. I saw many familiar bottles and lots of new ones. They have taps so you can sit and enjoy a beer or drink while wandering around the store. They also do growler fills. The prices seemed a little steep but I would go back for my beer/cider needs.
