Decided to come eat here for some good old fashioned wonton noodle soup. I came here awhile back with my parents. We used to eat here a lot back in the good old days, when my family was living nearby in the Yesler projects. My parents have fond memories of eating here back in those days. I’m sure it’s probably been the same since the 80s from the looks of the establishment. It’s a real hole in the wall restaurant. The prices are so cheap, with price ranges from $ 6-$ 8. It’s a family run restaurant. The food tasted kind of bleh, but my main complaint was that I felt I didn’t get as much food as last time. Maybe they’re keeping the prices the same, but less quantity of food. It’s hit and miss, so that’s why I gave it 2 stars, but I would come back one more time to see if it improves. Or maybe bring my parents along next time-maybe we’ll get better food and service with my parents there…

Pretty good joint when Mikes Noodle House is closed. There pretty consistent on making wonton noodle soup my preferred way — with the soup on side, dry noodles. Its a reliable spot and the price is affordable. And its often the only shop open late at night.

This place is okay if Mike’s is closed. The congee is not bad, and it’s pretty cheap. The wontons are also pretty good. It’s usually not very crowded here, and it’s quiet.

food is ok, but very different from the pictures. I ordered wonton with fish balls noodles and it came with the slim, thin egg noodles whereas the picture showed wide noodles.

A great bowl of soup! I had the wonton and fish ball soup — broth delicious, loved the green of the Bok Choy, fish balls were appropriately fishy and wontons tasty and well spiced. Was a little worried as there weren’t that many customers in there when I came in at Wednesday for lunch but food put any concern I had to rest. Very friendly service — true you pay a $ 1 to use a credit card. Bring cash to keep your bill under $ 10.

Simple and delicious. Left with a warm belly on a cold spring day. Cramped interior but could be seen as cozy…

Came here around 10:00 pm on a Saturday night. The place was pretty quiet at that time as there were only two other patrons already dining when we walked in. I ordered a won ton and beef brisket soup with wide rice noodles. The bowl of soup was filling as they do give you a rather hearty portion of noodles. The broth has a good flavor, but it is a little on the oily side. Service was decent and prices are very reasonable.

Part of me wants to give Canton Wonton House a 4⁄5 stars instead of a 3⁄5 because I do like this place a lot, but there isn’t really anything outstanding about it. I don’t know if I’d call myself a ‘fan’ per say, but I do find myself returning here quite often for lunch. Can we just call it good ol’ reliable? Truth be told, I(like to think that I) grew up with comparable wontons at home, but have found that wontons aren’t as good when they aren’t freshly made. I come to Canton Wonton House whenever I crave a warm soup for lunch, so I don’t have to prepare it the night before/deal with left overs. Even better is that nothing really exceeds $ 6-$ 8 on the menu, so I can always count on this place to be my under $ 10 lunch spot since my office is only 2 blocks away. Perhaps my favorite thing on the menu is the Sui Kau, which I make a point to order every time I come since these are bigger and have more ingredients in them. I’ve come a few times when the Sui Kau is unavailable, and it broke my heart every time. The regular wontons are also good though, and all of their soups typically come with bok chou and egg noodles, so are relatively filling. The soup is just a basic broth, providing a good balance for a light meal. The décor inside is sparse, and there was, again, nothing particularly remarkable about it. Service is what you’d expect in Chinatown — minimal interaction, although the waiter was quite attentive and refilled my tea cup for me twice. Credit card transactions cost an extra dollar for the processing fee, since they are a smaller business. This place always hits the spot for me when I’m craving a light, warm soup for lunch — but at the same time, this isn’t a place I’d go out of my way to get to. There’s tons of other delicious food in Seattle — leave ol’ reliable here for us office folk at Union Station/Chinatown regulars who don’t need an extravagant lunch for every day of the week.

Best be writing my Seattle trip. First stop would be Canton Wonton House. I decided to take a later flight, so I arrived to Seattle around 10-ish, meaning a lot of places weren’t open on a Thursday evening. My friends decided to take me here, because I just wanted some comfort food that was quick and cheap. The place wasn’t packed and the food wasn’t too bad. To me, it was more of a so-so, but considering one didn’t eat before flying, anything would have been delicious. When you order a mixed meat dish, they really do mean an assortment of meat, meat parts that is. Soy milk tasted freshly made, so definitely worth a try.

This is my go-to if I want wonton noodle soup. It never ceases to amaze me that the food is still on point to this day. I have been going here for quite some time. If it’s cold outside I suggest trying the warm soy drink. It’s a great pair with any type of soup. Parking is kind of tricky, but overall, if you’re in the mood for wonton soup this hits the spot. The only caveat is that if you use a credit/debit card you will be charged $ 1.00, so bring cash if you don’t want a dollar added onto your bill.

The food is a 5 star but the cleanliness of the place docks it down in its rating. I’ve been going to this place for probably over 18 years and it has always been the same which is consistent in taste and price. I highly recommend this place if you really want to know what a real wonton taste like. One thing to be aware of: Not too long ago, they finally added the option to pay with a credit/debit card which is awesome but the downside is they charge you $ 1 for using your card so be aware of that.

Yaaas, Canton Wonton House, yaaaas. I’ve found my new go-to place for a simple and delicious bowl of wonton noodle soup. I haven’t tried anything else here except for their beef brisket and wonton noodle soup, but just from how good this was, I don’t think I’ll be trying anything else from the menu soon. The beef brisket was tender and just really delicious. The wontons were FANTASTIC. Simple, with plump little shrimp inside, but just insanely good. The egg noodles were also tasty. Great little bowl of noodle soup! The regular size, for $ 6, is a steal. If you’re hungry, and especially if you get here for an early dinner, you might want to get the large size(it’s only a $ 1 difference).

Came here with a group of 8 people and it was a quiet Sunday night. It’s definitely a hole in the wall so we were a bit skeptical. Our server promptly sat us and I just have to say he’s as swift as can be, with the quickness, we liked that! I should also say within 15 minutes after us arriving people started quickly trickling in, and we realized why the place was packed, we just got lucky we got there before the herd. I ordered the regular Sui-Kau & Beef Brisket Noodle Soup and i was not disappointed at all whatsoever. In fact it was the best beef noodle soup I’ve ever had. Broth — so on point, i loved that they didn’t use star anise like most places use. It didn’t taste too oily either, just a nice hearty beef broth. Bok Choy instead of Cabbage pieces, oh you fancy huh? …or maybe i just tend to go to cheap a$$ places for my beef noodle soup. but wait, this place is cheap too… DOUBLESCORE! Nice big chunky tender pieces of beef brisket and just the right amount of fat on it — yes! And the Sui-Kau: I’m so glad I asked the server what that was, I was mind blown. He told me from the get the popular choice was the wonton & beef brisket noodle soup, and i didn’t know what the hell sui-kau is but in the pictures it looked just like wontons so i had to know. so what is it exactly: it’s pretty much the same thing as wonton but BETTER because instead of just the shrimp/pork mixture there’s also shiitake mushrooms and bamboo shoots mixed in. NOWWEATTRIPLESCORE! All around, great family owned spot. We could see the dad making the wontons and you could taste the freshness! If i ever go back to seattle this is definitely a spot i have to go to!

Cheap, good food, quick service, nice portions. It’s basically a hole in the wall kind of place. My sister and I might sound crazy to get soup on a hot summer day but it definitely hit the spot. This place screams cheap eats as their highest priced item is about $ 8.60. I ordered Sui-Kau & Beef Brisket Noodle Soup while my sister ordered Wonton & Beef Ball Noodle Soup. The soup came out quickly and he gave us tea with food. Fresh wontons, tender brisket, a large portion of noodles. If you want a spice kick, they have the usual chili oil, soy sauce, sriracha, etc on the side. The service is decent and quick which was all that really mattered. The teenage son is the waiter and if not helping other customers, is usually on his DS or his cell phone. This is Chinatown, so I didn’t expect much. Disclaimer: $ 1 charge on debit/credit card, recommend having cash when eating here. I highly recommend this place and will come back.

When BF and I were alone in the restaurant, the cook father had an argument with their 16 year old waiter son. It got quite awkward. Service also wasn’t great because the 16 year old was too busy playing on his Nintendo DS or phone or whatever. BF had the cod fish congee with a side of siu kau soup and I had wonton noodle soup. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The three dishes were too much because the«side» was much larger than expected. The food was good but not something I would go out of my way for.

2.5 stars Really wanted to love this place! from the reviews I have read, this place must have been much better in the past. I love the hole in the wall establishments! Canton Wonton noodle house is truly a hole in the wall but the charm sort of stops there. Its a bit dingy and the service was a mess. My first time here and they got my order and someone another customer’s order wrong. They also wouldn’t give a customer the order she thought she paid for and simply said«eat this instead. its good too’. What?! The vibe was also weird as the waiter and the cook seemed to be arguing a lot. That being said. I did try the beef brisket with wonton and noodles. I felt like the they were a bit stingy on the amount of brisket but it was tasty enough. the Chinese broccoli was good but the oyster sauce was some of the saltiest ever! over all, not a resounding endorsement. It is affordable to be sure. with most bowls of soup going for $ 7-$ 8 dollars. but I am not sure if that is enough to draw me back even though I love Hong Kong style soups! I hope they can get improve things because there still is potential here!

Canton Wonton House is my go-to just landed from a flight meal. It’s always comforting to have a bowl of noodle soup as my welcome home from a trip.(I could come here all day, but a trip is my excuse to eat these delicious carbs.) We first found this place through Unilocal when we moved here last year. After the first meal we took a business card that has their entire menu on it, and taped it to our fridge when we got home. It’s not glamorous food or super special in any means. But it’s a good price, for a large portion, and always the same. I know what to expect and I get it every time. They are great about packing up the soup and noodles separately for to-go orders. I’m glad they are now opened 7-days a week!
