Sometimes it’s good to give your soul a little lovin. For those times this is where I go to fill my spirit and mind with a lot of love.
I am not the type to affiliate with any specific religion. More dialog on that isn’t required to let you know that the Center for Spiritual Living really walks in line with my beliefs about the world we all live in. I find the space comfortable and intimate with the ability to engage if you desire but talking to your neighbors isn’t required. I enjoy the Sunday services as an opportunity to recharge, meditate and reflect. When I leave I always leave smiling and ready to share happiness. It’s a pretty darn, good feeling.

The first time I came here I felt I was home again and have never felt differently in the year that I’ve been going. I love everything about this place and feel so grateful there are people devoted to maintaining this community/​little piece of heaven.

Finally found a place I can go without feeling judged! I love it here so much and I look forward to going every week!

This philosophy is so enlightening and wonderful. Seattle CSL has too much fluff. They fail to get to the heart of the matter. Their services are riddled with bookstore sales promotions, upcoming classes for which they charge money, and way too many songs. I wanted more group therapy, expansion, emphasis and learning — and less showmanship.

I am not a member of this spiritual community. I first attended back in 1994 or 95. I took the Foundations class, which is now the Beyond Limits: Living a Thriving Life class.
Pros: I love the music, CSL Choir, and special musical guests. Garnett Hundley and Jonakan O’Steen at Christmas were so incredibly amazing. Gypsy Soul earlier this month was WOW, great! Karl Anthony tonight will be awesome for Laser Light Kirtan.
I love that they are LGBTQI friendly. Their website declares this as does their handouts. A few weeks ago they had 32 weddings for The Big Gay Wedding, which is awesome. They have a group for LBTQ women called Soul Sisters. If you are a GBTQ Man, however, they don’t have anything for us that I have seen *yet*. This was surprising to me that they don’t have a GBT men’s group.
I love that this CSL offers so many opportunities to learn about spirituality from the Science of Mind perspective. Other CSL’s are not as active as Seattle’s (based on my observations of other cities and their CSL websites) and I heard that CSL Seattle was one of the two largest CSL’s.
They offer a catalog of so many GOOD choices and they offer discounts for early registration. They offer Core Practical Spirituality (Beyond Limits: Living a Thriving Life; Spiritual Practice; Self Mastery for Intentional Living; etc.), Modern Mysticism Courses such as learning about Emma Curtis Hopkins; Prosperity Practices, etc. They also offer Enrichment Courses (Art of Living & Relationships; Financial; Purpose; Religion & Spirituality; Spiritual Practice; and Wellness. They offer Spirit at Work courses and events, as well as travel to India and other types of Retreats.
Here’s what they teach about Jesus:
«In Science of Mind, we believe that Jesus of Nazareth was a loving, powerful man who walked the earth two thousand years ago. Jesus was a Master Teacher and a great example of how to live the individual expression of God. In Science of Mind, the phrase «Christ Consciousness» is used to refer to a universal principle of God expressing through humanity. Jesus was the great example, given to us all, of fully living our divine potential, our «Christ Consciousness.» According to our founder Dr. Ernest Holmes, «Science of Mind does not deny the divinity of Jesus; but it does affirm the divinity of all people. It does not deny that Jesus was the son of God; but affirms that all beings are children of God. It does not deny that the Kingdom of God was revealed through Jesus; but affirms that the Kingdom of God is also revealed through you and me.»
They have a wonderful bookstore. I love their practical teaching series and Rev. Dr. Kathianne Lewis is phenomenal!

Love this place, I came here after my hubby and I did some research to figure what church made the most sense to us and we stuck with this one after attending our first service… it is SO fun, upbeat, positive, and with great music every week. I feel good about all the messages I have heard so far and have almost completed all the classes I need to become a member… I look forward to officially being a part of this church that I already feel a part of.

Super amazing insight at CSL! If you have experienced the circus of religion like I have you would realize what a blessed environment this place offers. And I have had a chance to go to some of the sister sanctuaries beside Seattle, but husband and I would have to agree Kathianne is so in touch with divine spirit and inspiration. If you think this place is too positive commercial… go join Catholic, Mormon, or Nazerines who don’t dance or have a strict code of judgement.

A super turn-​off… SO commercial. Sign up for this, sign up for that. It’s all plastered in the middle of the «sanctuary», even.
Makes me think I’d like Jesus to come and do his «thing» there, like he did with the money changers in the temple. What’s the difference?

I have been attending CSL now — on and off — for 15 years. And I can say with truth that the biggest positive changes in my life are directly related to the times when I’ve been most connected with the church and the message.
CSL welcomes all faiths, nonbelievers, searchers, undecided. It honors all pathways to God. It teaches that we all have a personal connection to spirit — no matter what you call it — and by tapping into that connection we allow God’s love and blessings to flow through us. It is a very personally empowering and uplifting message.
What’s interesting is that every time I hear Rev. Kathianne speak, it seems like she is speaking directly to me. Directly to the issues I am facing, the needs I have, the message I need to hear. Wow — is she tapped in!
There is a beautiful spirit to this church and well worth your time to give it a try.

When I first moved to the area it was suggested I try this church and it was just ok, not my cup of tea. Ha Ha… Whenever I say to anyone…“and so it is” …they immediately know I’m talking about this place.

Whenever I’m in Seattle, I ALWAYS visit this spiritual powerhouse. This church is awesome and is led by a woman who walks her talk!

Its pretty weird to rate a church… I mean it’s kind of personal, right? So this is just me talking. I think Kathianne is smart smart smart and funny too. And that girl can pray up a storm! But the best part. is new. Eddie Watkins Jr. has come to town — oh my. Live wonderful music every Sunday — two services and maybe if you’re lucky, Wednesday night as well. Check it out

The few times I’ve been here, I’ve always really wanted to like it, but instead left feeling like I’d just attended a cable worship telecast. Some people are going to like that, but to me, it felt manufactured rather than sincere. Given my fundamentalist Christian background, I really liked that they have a woman at the helm. But she was unfortunately the biggest contributing factor to it feeling like a cable telecast. (which it probably actually is).

I also left this church and am trying to find another unity church. Yes, Kathianne has an enormous ego and has turned the church into one that is very financially driven. To the point at the annual «member sign up» if people aren’t able to become an official member (I was unemployed) you’re left sitting in humiliation while everyone else is called to the front to be honored.
The beliefs through Unity churches and Religous Science are the best I have ever found. However after attending several classes, Sunday services, and working with a paid practioner I was still having problems.
I emailed Kathianne and said I believed the beliefs of Religous Science could help me, but they weren’t. What was I doing wrong? Her response was basically too bad, sorry we couldn’t help. I think I would have got a much different response had I been a paying member even though I contributed finanically at every service I went to.
The only reason I gave 2 stars is for the beliefs of Religous Science. I have no stars to give to this church

!!! Uplifting!!!
Go to this church for a wonderful uplifting Sunday and likely other days meeting/​service. I was so blessed last week to attend the service.
Warmth, love, appreciation. A compelling speaker, Kathianne, choir, and the message wraps around you, enters your heart and soul and you feel good!
That warm feeling of being loved and loving carries into your life. Gratitude, appreciation, forgiveness, reminders we are all human and practicing and learning these aepects of living as a human.
I am going back. Often.

I’ve been to several Religious Science churches over the years and this one is my second favorite. (Agape is *the* best IMHO).
I like this church because it’s balanced between spirituality and science, faith and action. Most of all because it’s open-​minded and accepting of all people and religious traditions. Seems to me that’s what a house of God should be.

About 80% of CSL’s congregation left and went to Seattle Unity Church. Why? Kathianne Lewis. Great speeches, BIG EGO. She hand picked her board, and when people protested (as a board is supposed to be voted by the church), she either fired them or had them blackballed.
Not to mention the large billboard in Ballard that had a huge picture of her face, and then «Center for Spiritual Living». Um — it’s not about you, Kathianne. It’s about God.
If you are drawn here, I’d say check it out, then go to Seattle Unity. It’s a lot better.

All the good things about Church but none of the crazy religious crap.
If you are looking for a place to learn, listen to great live music, feed your spirit, find community, attend classes, bring your kids, meet new people and have fun, this is a place you should try.
I dare you to try it if you are fed up with religion but long for a little more depth in your life.

OK — take it that this is coming from a member of this church (but someone who can be fairly skeptical and cynical). If you are looking for a practical, non-​dogmatic, experiential church or spiritual community, I highly recommend coming by and trying out CSL. Besides the energy of a packed house, Sundays bring amazing talks from the head minister — Kathianne Lewis, and great music (amazing variations — not your usual «church music»). What kept me coming — as this place was out of my comfort zone– was how practical the talks were, and how much they were in line with what I had always believed inside. I was raised Presbyterian, and would go to church and edit what I was hearing, throwing out parts I didn’t really believe. Here, I don’t have to do that. Namaste!
