I love this mom and pop store. The couple who own it are so kind and accommodating. I honestly have no idea how the Unilocaler below can find them rude. I live around the corner and go there for snacks and sodas and to buy things I run out of like flour and sugar and toilet paper, It’s a lot easier to go here instead of QFC to handle these small needs. We haven’t tried the sandwiches but when we watch them made for others, the ingredients are fresh and look tasty. It’s a great little grocery.

I agree with Jeffrey — excellent quality and well worth the wait. Definitely beats Subway! I highly recommend the royal.

We had walked by this place several times and noticed the sandwich pictures on the sign for a couple months before trying it. Finally went to get sandwiches and they are really really good. This old woman makes them all by hand with careful love. We got 3 different specialty sandwiches and all were equally amazing! Huge portion for 4.99. Much more meat then a subway sandwich and loads better! Highly recommend this place if you don’t mind slow service with a delicious outcome.

I pass this market ALL the time for two reasons: I work out at the Golds there on Aurora and I ALSO live in this ‘up and coming’ area of Seattle called Phinneywood(sort of in between Greenwood, Grennlake, and Phinney Ridge. The person or family who own this Aurora market remind me of communist Mao and his family(if they angrily and militaristically operated a market). There is one older woman, in particular, who is rude to me every time I have attempted to give this seemingly struggling market any business. She does not acknowledge when someone has entered, does not ask if everything had been found, nor does she give two shits about you to squeak out the total price owed after ringing up your groceries, let alone a little ‘thank you’ at the end. It gets to be somewhat comical because she is so blatantly rude that one feels as though he is in one of those British or Canadian cafes that really lay on the rudeness as a comic relief. I guess Crowne operates on a ‘you need us’ and ‘we don’t need you’ mentality. They get over it.

I go to this market/deli at least twice a week typically, as it’s right next door to where I live. The food selection is pretty bare-bones, but it has all the things that you would expect from a corner market. Candy bars, chips, microwave meals, ice cream, Redbull, lottery tickets, soda, beer, wine, etc. Nothing really out of the ordinary or noteworthy. I go mostly for beer, and they have a decent selection at fair prices. For example, they have a deal going right now that is $ 8.99 for an 18-pack of either Miller High Life or Icehouse. That’s pretty cheap. The other reason I go here, and why this place is somewhat unique, is that they make great sandwiches at great prices. The specialty sandwiches are all $ 5.95 and include a soda. The 6 sandwiches are: Gourmet Club, Crown Grinder, Royal Grinder, Pastrami Grinder, Terriyaki Chicken and Veggie Grinder. My favorite is the Pastrami Grinder(pastrami, sauerkraut, provolone, swiss, tomato, peppercini, red onion, black olives and dijon mustard on a sub roll). A close second is the Crown Grinder(turkey, ham, provolone, swiss, tomato, peppercini, red onion, and black olives on a sub roll). All sandwiches except for the Gourmet Club are toasted. There is also a French Dip sandwich for $ 4.99 and a Veggie Sandwich for $ 4.69. You can also build your own sandwich for $ 4.99. These sandwiches are huge, one could easily eat half and save the other half for later, but you won’t want to they’re so good. The market also makes good breakfast sandwiches in the morning time. The Croissant Special is $ 3.25, Bagel Sandwich is $ 2.95, and the English Muffin Sandwich is $ 2.75. Your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. Conveniently, any sandwich order can be called in and will be waiting for you when you arrive. Very consistent quality on all the sandwiches. Very friendly workers, always greet you with a smile. A great store for North College Park residents.
