I’ve seen Dennis LaMaster multiple times over the past years. He is why I go to New Seattle Massage and is one of the reasons I decided to become an LMP myself. I will repeat what others have said about him — He is a fantastic practitioner who truly cares about and is truly interested in his clients and their goals for massage, not just through his presence but in his skilled touch. Dennis LaMaster gives an amazing massage — intense at times, certainly, but well worth it. I’d highly recommend him.

Initially I thought he was too painful so I thought I would never go back but after speaking to him, the massage experience has been incredible so far. I am glad I went back. Now I am a regular customer!

If you are looking for someone who is strong enough to reach the furthest depths of you pain but aware enough not to hurt you than Dennis is you man. I have seen Dennis several times now and I have to say my experiences only get better. I also love New Seattle Massage, the co-op in the University District where Dennis practices. The facilities are spotless, fresh clean towels always available for use and for a small extra fee you can use the steam room and sauna. My first visit with Dennis was a last minute call looking for coinciding appointments for my partner and I. Normally I wouldn’t chose to see a male practitioner but I have to say I am very happy that I opened my mind and pushed my own boundaries to give Dennis a chance. Dennis is a soft spoken man who very quietly and gently asks you about why you are there and what you are looking for. Actually his demeanor is so gentle that when I laid on his table I was quite shocked but the significance of his touch. Dennis has strong hands but is keenly aware of my reactions to his touch and always seems to adjust his pressure intuitively. Dennis has a routine. My massages are almost always the same with him but they are different than with any other massage therapist I have ever seen. Dennis uses the usual techniques but he also has some unusal moves that one might prefer to be prepared for. This is not a lay down and go to sleep for an hour kind of massage. Dennis requries some passive participation. The first time he asked me to grip his hand and pulled me to the top of the table leaving my head and arms hanging I was a little leery but as I hung there for a moment I felt the stretch relieving tension in places I never expected to be relieved. The biggest difference between Dennis and other LMP’s I have worked with is that he is there to relieve your aching body not just through rubbing but stretching also. He has a way of making me feel relaxed and comfortable, to trust him when it is against my instinct. I have just made another appointment to see Dennis tommorow. I think this will be my 5th or 6th visit with him and I am so looking forward to it!

This guy should not be allowed to practice massage. I went to him and told him that I had a torn rotator cuff that was very painful and that I would be having surgery soon. I went in wearing an arm sling and was very clear that I did not want my injured shoulder touched at all. In complete disregard of what I had said he proceeded to massage that shoulder, and even when I cried out in pain at what he was doing, he said ‘good, now one more time’ and repeated what had just caused me great pain. He is a terrible practitioner and I think his license should be revoked.
