East West Massage

We made an appointment here a few days in advance. Today we showed up for a couples massage and she told me that they only had one person available to do the massage. Instead of being polite about it, she laughed at me. Odd thing was, I confirmed the appointment just an hour before showing up. Do not recommend. Terrible service.

I am an airline crew member, was in town on a layover, and decided to find a place for a massage. I initially found East West on Craigslist and then looked them up on Unilocal.I had a little trepidation about trying them because the reviews were all over the place but decided to give them the benefit of doubt and was pleasantly surprised.
I walked in with no appointment and was pleasantly greeted the moment I walked in the door. I asked for a a one hour body massage and was immediately escorted to a private room. Wei La was my masseuse and gave me what I would have to say was probably the best massage I’ve ever had. She asked me how much pressure I would like and she used just the right amount and managed to find all the muscles that were really in need of attention. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to do 90 minutes instead.
I would highly recommend East West but be aware, they have two spas directly across the street from each other. I wanted to take advantage of the table shower offer on Unilocal but when I asked about it they told me the table shower was in the other spa across the street. So, if you are interested in the table shower be sure to go to the location on the north side of Jackson.

This place is reasonably priced and Tyler is professional and fantastic. I would highly recommend.

This is my first time writing a review on Unilocal.And I am doing it just to give this place justice. This is the most amazing massage place I’ve ever been to. Yo An gave me a full body massage and without me telling her she knew exactly where to put pressure. Every Time I’ve been here has been wonderful! 200% recommended.

My husband and I have been coming to this spot for the last 4 months about once a week for the hour long foot massage. The massage itself is nice enough, we pay, tip and leave feeling good about the whole experience.
Last month our friend surprised us and treated us and himself to an hour foot massage as a wedding gift. Our friend paid the entire bill and we all left. A couple weeks later, my husband and I went back in and the first thing one of the massage therapists starting telling me was that we needed to TIP double «because last time there was no tip»… #1-​Having our massages paid for as a gift, we had no way of knowing what sort of tip was left. #2– TIPS are NOT mandatory!!! If they are… you should include it in the price which makes it no longer a «tip». As regular patrons at this spot who always tip, we were unbelievably insulted!!! So RUDE!!!
We have found a different foot massage spot and will no longer go to East West Massage.

The massage was good, that is when the masseur was present. He left the room 5 times to talk with people in the main room. The people that work there were speaking vary loudly to one another. There are better choices for well priced massages in the area.
Not relaxing at all. I have never left a massage feeling like I still need a massage until now.

I opted for the private room massage which offered a deep tissue massage. Not bad for $ 50! Although it felt more like a back massage (which really felt good) rather than a whole body massage. The masseuse was professional and had great technique. I wish she spent a little more time on other bodiy parts, perhaps better time management. I’m not sure if I’ll come back

Clean facilities but a waste of time and money. I had a weak masseuse who was clearly passing the time knowing it was a full hour massage. She was basically rubbing oil on my body the whole time. No technique whatsoever. Im a person that gets massages every week. So i can tell. I asked if she could put more pressure and she was very inconsistent. She was nice though. Spent too much time on my legs as though she was tickling me. And not so much on the knots on my back. She massaged my feet and went back to my face without sanitizing her hands. This isnt my first massage with them either. Ive had one of the best massages ive had from this spa from 2 other older ladies in the past which is why i brought a friend with me today. I just happen to have ended up with the weaker masseuse. Im sad to say im never coming back. Cause you will never know who youre getting. I cant remember their names nor do they communicate. They barely spoke english.
The deals they have only attract first time customers.

Note: there are TWO East West Massage locations on the same street across from each other. We arrived for a foot massage at the 654 address and got a blank stare from the employee, I thought I had mistaken another guest for an employee, but no. She said that we had to go across the street…
This is a review on 661 S Jackson St., East West Massage. Redeemed $ 55 Groupon for two person foot bath, foot massage, and tea. Worth it for the deal price, not sure about the full price.
We received a warmer welcome by the front desk person so that was nice compared to our first encounter across the street. Not busy on a Saturday at noon you could probably walk in easily, several chairs.
30min foot soak, they kept the water warm. I’m not tall, so the seat was uncomfortable at the neck until I realized you can adjust the head pillow, and they recline it for you too.
30 min foot massage was good and includes lower legs, end with upper thigh/​hip area. They refilled hot water in the tea at the end (since it’s hard to drink while lying there) and we were not rushed at the end to enjoy the tea and sit there for a bit. Walked out with soft relaxed feet. However, the street outside with bus stop is kinda shady feeling.

Found this place on GroupOn. A pleasant surprise! Great customer service and wonderful environment. I would definitely go again!

Went in expecting a foot massage and got so much more! Very pleasant atmosphere and very welcoming. Staff was very nice and professional. Foot massage included head, shoulders, legs etc. Great experience for my daughter and I. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back!

Booked the 90min massage — amazing technique with the hot stones was very relaxing. Super professional and a relaxing private room. As good as any Vegas 5* Spa.
Would recommend to anyone, the store entrance looks shady — but once inside a wonderful place.

This was more of a foot rub than a massage. Definitely not worth it and my feet don’t feel any better. As several other people have insinuated, this place seemed more interested in selling the «full body» treatment to older men if you catch my drift.

This place sucks. I think I got the weak massager. My boyfriend and I came in here to get the 1 hour foot massage and soak. The massager I had was lightly rolling his knuckles into my feet. No pressure at all; it tickled more than felt good. I asked him to push harder and he seemed angry and started speaking in Chinese to his coworker. He also didn’t increase the pressure either. I also told him it tickled and he just laughed and disregarded my comment, then kept lightly massaging (aka tickling) me. I think this place was more intended for the «full body massage» for old men… As two men were escorted to the back. They seemed like they really enjoyed their massages.

Got a groupon and went for a visit. It was an hour bath/​massage combo.
First, my feet sat in a tiny wooden tub with a plastic liner for nearly a half hour, to the point where I had to pull my feet out, because there were shrunken prunes (not quite the «herbal foot bath» I expected). The massage itself was nice (when it came), not like the one I remembered from Hong Kong, but definitely enjoyable. As I was leaving, I considered getting a quick body massage, so I asked the guy at the front desk. He needed to check if there was an opening for me. In the interim, a guy off the street walks in, with no appointment and gets my spot, even though I was there first, standing there. WEIRD. Was it because I was a woman?
When I say no frills, I mean it’s no frills. This place is a bare bones spot in Pioneer Square, with chairs close to one another. Don’t get me wrong — had this been a good experience, I would’ve given it 5 stars — I have no problem with no frills — to me it’s all about the service.

My friend and I did a groupon deal that included a 30-​min foot massage, 30-​min herbal foot bath, and tea for two people.
Great, relaxing atmosphere. Good, attentive service– they were very conscientious of making sure the water for our foot baths were kept warm with refills. Thorough, very relaxing foot massages with just the right amount of pressure. Would definitely come back.

I called this place ahead of time because they were the only ones that were open at the time. Honestly speaking, it’s better than most asian massage places. It was clean but dark and smelled funky. A lady greeted us when my friend and I walked in and asked if we had an appointment, which was hard to understand because she barely spoke english. Then she looked confused and told us to wait a couple of minutes, then another person came and asked the same question. A few minutes later, they directed us to the rooms and got the massage.
The massage was great and i would give it 5 stars but professionalism, i give them a 1 star. Aside from not being able to communicate with customers, they lack discipline. Throughout the whole session, the lady was speaking in chinese. I asked if she was talking to me and that i did not understand what she was saying. she kept talking. I thought she was trying to hypnotize me for some reason and started praying. A friend of mine had that happen to him and lost his wallet and his phone so that freaked me out. As she closer to my shoulders, i heard another person speaking and found out that she was on the phone. It made me feel a lot better but at the same time disappointed that she would be on the phone the whole entire time. I mean, one part of the massage session is the smoothing classical music that eases your body and this lady just annoyed me.

The place is TERRIBLE. It’s dark, cold and dank smelling. Upon arrival the woman – who looked like she just woke up – in the back belched when walking down the hallway. (You can’t make this stuff up!)
My GF and I dropped in last night and it was the usual back and forth in broken English, a process with which we are accustomed. It seems as though they are way more interested in getting you in the «back rooms» for «full body massage» at $ 50 than actually doing foot massage but, once we established we only wanted foot massage and sat down and tried to relax. Emphasis on tried. About 5 minutes in, another customer showed up for «full body massage» and they practically shoved the poor lad into one of their back rooms then both the ladies started making phone calls, looking for another massage therapist. 10 minutes past, wherin my feet are now in cool water and I’m being serenaded by one side of a series of phrenetic Mandarin phone calls and we put on our shoes, walked out and went to Imperial where the massage is great and the service is prompt, efficient and organized.

I was hoping for a walk in appt shortly after they opened for the day. From the looks of it, it was totally empty except for the two ladies at the front desk but they just looked at me like I was some random person that walked into their home. I asked for a massage and they just said, um nooo. I reply, um Oook. A few more words were exchanged about it but I got the feeling they just wanted me to leave so i happily obliged.
WTF?

So I came here because we had a groupon. Actually the service was great. I came for foot massage and It was worth every penny. Don’t let you fool the look from the outside. Inside it’s pretty clean and nice.
Not 5 stars because the parking was hard. But oh well it’s the location. But be aware of that.
