The puzzles themselves were pretty good, but I can’t help but think some sort of investment in the storyline plays a huge part in the overall experience. Unfortunately my group of 6 paid $ 28 each to have someone who was in training painfully limp us through the experience while being overseen by one of the partial owners. Collectively we had a hard time understanding what the trainee was saying, and thought that she struggled to effectively communicate when setting the stage for«the escape», or when tying all of the twists and turns of the storyline together at the end I’ll sum it up like this: It felt like all of us were there serving as polite volunteers to sit through a poorly prepared presentation as a courtesy to the trainee.

Some of us spent most of the game unable to participate at all because of the poor organization of the puzzles. I’ve escaped several rooms in a couple cities, and this was the lowest quality experience I had by far – probably because I was one of the aforementioned people. The set up had some cool ideas, but they could have been executed better. It’s hard to describe without giving details. The puzzles placed too much emphasis on searching, and the environment was a boring and bare – I saw no signs of effort at making a themed/decorated room. The puzzle operator also seemed kind of bored and didn’t help when we got frustratingly stuck for like 30 minutes. Probably still worth your time if you really love solving puzzles and/or are an escape room completionist, but there are tons of better escape rooms around the area.

A group of 10 of us went and did the game today. We had a great time! It was well organized, really fun clues, and challenging but not impossible. We’d definitely suggest it!

We visited Enigma Studio room this weekend. It was the first real escape game for all of us, and we loved it! You get an extra 5 minutes on top of allotted time to escape if you like them on Facebook or something like that, but we decided to play it hard and declined :-) Finished the room with some time to spare, with a hint or two from the org closer to the end. I liked the puzzles, and I felt the game overall was nicely balanced, not too hard and not too easy. But our team were all friends, so communication was really easy — must be much harder to play with people you’ve just met. Can’t say anything else for the fear of spoilers, and that’s pretty much the only problem of this game — you have to be really vague when telling about it to the friends :-)

MAYBE the game is good, but you better be ready to do the marketing for the promoter. I tried to sign up for the weekend game, but there was not enough people that night and when I tried to work with enigma and asked if they have a spot on another night I was told the following: «we have events every day, but you either need to find your own group with 6+ people or see if there’s any event that already has more than 6 people participating.» I love escape games, and traveling from out of state, this was one of my priorities when visiting the town. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem that single customer is a priority for this organization.

This is not the first real escape game I’ve played, but it’s definitely the best one ever! Really worth more than 25 bucks, looking forward to their new games!
