An enjoyable but completely forgettable French place. One of those take-me-someplace-nice places that would not be objectionable, but also not notable. Service was charming. Tablecloths and napkins were starched. A baguette with butter was $ 4 or something insane. I understand some people getting pissy with cheapasses dropping in, munching bread/chips/salsa for two hours and then paying in exact change, but seriously now. This is aspiring to be a big ticket French place. Think about what kind of message you want to express. Pick something memorable besides that you want an absurd amount for bread.

Entre Nous has closed for good. Pity — great place, great vibe.

I ordered the pomme frites and the barley stuffed tomatoes, both of which were lovely. I also asked the server to recommend a wine, and although I don’t recall what he gave us, it was a red wine that I enjoyed quite a bit. Unfortunately, after eating an enjoyable meal & drinking half a bottle of wine, I was informed by the person formerly referred to here as «the boy,» that our relationship would be ending. Nothin’ like a fancy dinner to soften the blow of a breakup, right?! This was months ago and I am just now getting around to writing this review and returning to Unilocal(I missed you!), so sadly, I can’t recall as many details as I’d like. Let’s just say, Entre Nous is on my list of places to return to… WITHOUT getting dumped this time!

There are a few things I disliked about Entre Nous, but luckily the food was not one of them. There were no missteps in the cuisine: simple, flavorful, deliciously French. I couldn’t get enough of the mussels in basil butter and perfectly simple greenbeans with pine nuts and onions. My dining companion even threatened to lick his plate, which is where my first complaint is: Bread is extra at Entre Nous. Yes, they’re newly established(they’ve been around about 2 years), but if you’re a French restaurant, baguette should not be where you nickel and dime your customers. And it was quite a shame because, as it should be in any self-respecting French supper, the sauces made the meal. Entre Nous had friendly, attentive service, but that was not really a tall order since there was only one other party and not a single person at the bar(there didn’t seem to be a bartender around, either). The atmosphere was definitely lacking: the black-and-white family photos, tea lights and mirrors that might have been classy in another establishment just add to the tackiness at Entre Nous. The décor was obviously done on the cheap and desperately needs a remodel to create a warmer, more intimate atmosphere. Overall, though, I had a good experience at Entre Nous and it was because I couldn’t get enough of the cooking. In fact, I left wanting more, but that may have been due to the small portions. I really wish Unilocal would roll out half-star increments because I would give Entre Nous a three and a half star review, but I’ll settle for four since the main attraction was so tasty!

This is what Le Pichet wishes it could be. Sure, the décor is amusingly low-budget, but the menu is diverse and the service excellent. The ingredients are both high-quality and carefully paired; each cheese is perfectly cast for its role. Salads are finely and freshly chopped. Even the fondue leaves the impression it was prepared with concern, and not as part of an overpriced tableside show as too often found. This is becoming a favorite for avoiding the crowds for a romantic dinner.

I was hit with a random craving for fondue a couple months ago, so my husband and I decided to have a date night at Entre Nous. The restaurant was dim and cozy… we went the Friday before Valentine’s Day, and there were maybe 2 couples there. We started off with the scallops and seared duck. The scallops were just okay — although they had a nice texture and the creamy cheese sauce was yummy, they were lukewarm and tasted like they had been sitting out for awhile. The seared duck, though, was amazing. And their baguettes — just delicious. We ended up ordering 2 loaves. Unfortunately, our server neglected to mention that the fondue is only served with baguette chunks… so by the time the fondue arrived(which was about 1.5 hours later, because their service was very, very slow), we were really full and pretty sick of bread. I wish they would’ve served something else to dip with. I was pretty carb-ed out by the end of the meal. Bottom line: the scallops were so-so, the duck was fantastic. Service was polite, but extremely slow(we went around 830p and it wasn’t crowded at all). Don’t go too hungry, as you’ll likely be waiting for your food for awhile. Fondue was delicious, but make sure you don’t order extra bread since all it comes with is baguette. The fondue portion was generous(could have fed 3 people easily).

It’s like Le Pichet’s «café cousin.» Pretty french. Here’s the plan: 1 Beer(Kronenberg) 1 Wine(Pinot or something) 1 Croque Misure 1 thing o’ muscles Eat. Good. When you need to feel like you’re in Paris.

I’ve been here twice for lunch and I have to say that I’m not a fan. This is especially true for me given that I can have a much more authentic French meal and atmosphere a few blocks away at Café Campagna or Maximilien for similar prices. The first time I had a Foie de Volaille Pâté(chicken liver and cognac mousse pâté, which was pretty good. But the service was extremely slow given that there was only one other table seated when we went for lunch. Also, the windows are very drafty so it gets really chilli in the restaurant — I guess I don’t like to eat with my jacket and scarp on. The second time I order a Croque Madame, which I didn’t like at all. I guess it was my fault for not reading the menu properly since the description for the Croque Madam says that its smothered with béchamel. Not being an expert on French food, but having had enough Croque Madams in France and Switzerland, I expect the sandwich to include béchamel but not to the point where that’s all you tasted. Further, the béchamel sauce made the entire sandwich really soggy. I wanted to like the place, but its just not for me. However; it seems like plenty of others like it so give it a try and judge for yourself. Oh yeah, all credit cards accepted except for AmEx.

This place is a little shy of 4, but very close to 4, and good addition to special characteristics that Seattle downtown possesses. Situated within a block from Macy’s, this French bistro is just like a neighborhood eatery in Paris — unnoticed by travelers, where you can enjoy a complete meal for an affordable price. I love sharing small plates with my family or close friends. We had a nice salad, scallops(presentation could be improved?), duck and sausages with ratatouille. It was a tiny bit on the salty and oily side for me since I prefer enjoying the individual flavors of each ingredient, but I loved everything we ordered. I hope there will be big support for this type of restaurants in downtown Seattle.

Lunch on Friday, me myself and I was heading down to Pike Place and discovered this little spot… First time. I asked my wonderful server for a suggestion. I told her I was hungry. She shared with me her personal favorite was Tian d’agneau a la nicoise* $ 15.00 which is: Spinach, tomato, mushroom, onion and basil tower topped with lamb loin. It was WONDERFUL!!! I mean seasoned with garlic and me thinks butta this tower was beautiful… I HAD my camera but forgot to take a picture of it before I collapsed the beautiful creation with my fork! yikes! Oh well… just a good excuse to go back soon! I am still thinking about it! That was Friday and it is SUNDAY now!!! I think I am at the first stage of total obsession and addiction…

I’m a big time francophile(and francophone!), and was very pleased to find out that most, if not all, of the bartenders have actually spent significant amounts of time in France! I got to share war stories about Americans in France, and they understood it all. This is just a humble, small bar/restaurant in the heart of downtown Seattle, but the draw is definitely the cultural flair and knowledgeable staff. Also, I’m sure it’s been said multiple times, but the movies projected onto the ceiling are really a nice touch. It’s too bad that the picture is so trapezoidal due to the angle of the projector relative to the ceiling. I thought most projectors had a setting to correct for this. Oh well. This would normally be a three-star place, but I appreciate the staff’s experience so much that I’ll give it a fourth. By the by, our bartender said that he gets many French customers, who come here basically because of the French flag hanging outside and the obviously French name, which translates to «Between Us.» I love that name. A lot.

stumbled across this place the other day and had a glass of wine at the bar. The menu looked interesting so we decided to have dinner there the next day. The charcuterie plate was ample and each item was tasty. The haricote vert were perfectly cooked with a nice sprinkling of sea salt and pine nuts. The seared duck breast was utterly sublime. The grilled pork loin was flavorful, juicy and done to a turn. The service was excellent and the price was quite reasonable– the total was $ 100 for the above items, 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of beer, 3 calvados and a double espresso. The quantities were ample enough to feed the three of us. I look forward to eating here again the next time I’m in Seattle.

French-style restaurant done right, I’d say. You’ll find your typically overpriced«small plates», which are really no more than«bites», but you’ll also find some excellent fondue, and where besides the corporate-chain-whose-name-I-shall-not-mention can you get fondue in Seattle? Nowhere, that’s where. Or not where, depending on your English skills. We had a very nice dinner here composed of some of those small plates(which I confess were all excellent, save the ragout, which was an unexceptional $ 8 bowl of chunky pasta sauce). The fondue is a killer deal, though– $ 22 for two people and it’s basically all you can eat– no two humans(fine…EXCLUDING competitive eaters) could possibly finish the pot. Round it out with a glass or two of wine and you’ve got yourself a nice meal. I think the trick here is to treat it like a nice meal, and not a short bite at a local café, then the prices don’t seem so outrageous. You may want reservations, too. Check it out for date night!

I really wanted to like this place, and the wait staff was perfectly competent and friendly, but I left feeling really disappointed. We had the endive salad, frites, mint steak, and mussels. All of the dishes had problems. The endive salad’s candied nuts were way too sweet, and overpowered even the gorgonzola in the salad. The frites were a little underdone, and over seasoned. Many of the mussels were broken, unopened, or sandy – not too pleasant; but the broth was very good. The mint steak was the best dish, but it was very greasy. This place has many positive Unilocal reviews. I think that maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, and maybe the chef was having an off night, but I definitely won’t be coming back to find out. This place has a crappy location, undeniably bland ambiance, and mediocre food – I’m surprised that the cost was so high. I really can’t justify going here when I can have a wonderful meal, with higher quality food and better atmosphere at Black Bottle or Brasa.

I was tempted to give three stars because the French waiter was an asshole — and looked like he enjoyed being one, too. That aside, the food here is wonderful, compelling me to let them have that extra star. The scallops in mushroom-cream sauce are what I fantasize about on lonely nights when all I have to eat is Trader Joe’s frozen entrees. The fondue is wonderful(particularly the blue cheese) and you really can’t go wrong with a place that plops down baguette after baguette onto your table. The whole place isn’t terribly fancy, and the lack of good ventilation is murder on a hot night. But you might catch Johnny Halliday on the ceiling, and that, coupled with carb-induced drowsiness, is enough to send anyone off to a happy sleep.

I hesitated about writing this — only because I don’t to have to wait for a table next time I go. The food is not only authentic, its also fabulous! The waiter«David» is helpful and French. I also love the late night dinning. I am going back — maybe tomorrow.

Entre Nous was a great little find for us. The perfect comfortable place to get a French Fix. I’m puzzled why anyone would have anything negative to say about the décor, perhaps they haven’t traveled much to know that this place is reminiscent of many little cafes in France. We found it charming especially after recent travels in Normandy, Paris and Provence. We sat at the bar and received excellent service. The owner/chef came out often and chatted with customers. Our server was very knowledgeable about food and drink, she shared a new Cognac I had not heard of before. We really enjoyed the small plate format, it seems to be a popular trend many restaurants are borrowing from Spanish Tapas bars. Green Beans, Lamb, Mussels, Cheese Plate were all delicious. My only disappointment were the Pomme Frites, I expected a smaller fry size, golden, brown and crispy. They serve more of a jo-jo style fry which we didn’t care for. We enjoyed a nice Cote du Rhone which was reasonably priced. Another server gave us a little French lesson explaining we don’t need to add a «tres»(very) in front of delicieux.

Movies on the ceiling and photos on the wall are the most interesting things at this restaurant. I am always happy to see a new French Bistro open. They serve a «tapas-style» fare and we shared the Salade d’endive, pomme frites, bifteck au menthe, and moules au basilique. I thought the salad was presented well, but lacked that je né sais quoi. My favorite was the bifteck au menthe. This is a place I might stop in for a drink and a «gouter», but I’m not sure about a full dinner again. Hopefully it’s a work in progress. It’s tough because there’s so much competition in that area.

Entre Nous… I don’t love you. You really are 2.5 stars but alas Unilocal won’t allow me to give ½ stars and since the food wasn’t awful I can’t bring myself to select just 2 stars. Met up with a couple of friends here last night to check it out. Had previously walked past and thought it looked like a fun, intimate space. Yes it is small, but the décor SUCKS! I know restaurants, especially small independently owned are usually profitless pits, especially when first starting out, so you put your $$ into the food and maybe not the décor, but if you want a place to have some ambiance, SOMETHING needs to be done… and the uncomfortable wooden chairs, dark paneling/wainscoting on the walls and cheesy mirror/candle combo wall sconces just aren’t doing it. Check out Artemis if you want to see shabby chic done right in a restaurant space. Moving on… services was painfully slow. It was far from crowded when we arrived yet I was seated for about 10+ minutes before even having a chance to order some wine. Also had to request water… INDIVIDUALLY, he wasn’t proactive enough to ask if everyone wanted water or simply to bring 3 glasses…3 separate trips for 3 glasses of water. Not a model of efficiency. The food… I really like French food and know that some dishes can be heavy, but I honestly felt that a lot of the sauces were VERY salty(maybe that’s why we were drinking so much water). The skinny on what we ordered: carre de porc au fromage et champignon(scalloped pork loin with a brie cream sauce), was just okay… monsieur et croc… I’ve had better, pomme frite, prefer Maximilien’s and Café Presse, moules au basilique… lackluster mussels and why did you bring us two pieces of bread for 3 people? And probably the best dish of the night… carnard a la provencal… delicious roasted duck. Definitely not easy on the wallet either considering we each just had one glass of wine… overall, I don’t see myself going back when there are so many other incredible restaurants in this fine city of ours. NEXT.

Entre Nous is a delightful oasis between the gaudy Bergman luggage sign and the chaos of 2nd avenue. The small tables and tightly-woven bar isn’t the only thing cozy about this place… The staff are a delight and the owners are even more enchanting than the old black and white movies playing on the ceiling. Boasting«tapas and fondue» the few bites of food I tasted were incroyable! I have no idea what I was savoring, because I arrived too late to order… But for sure there was a potato pie that kept my companions oohing and moaning for a good 20 minutes. The«When Harry met Sally» line plays in my head as I think of it… «I’ll have what she’s having!» I was dying for some Crème Brulee but we were on our way out… I will for sure be back to strike up another conversation with the lovely lawyer-gone waitress who owns the place and look forward to meeting her husband the chef! Five stars and two enthusiastic thumbs-up for following a dream, creating a warm delicious space, and passing the Bar exam!
