My favorite gym. It’s small; The whole thing is about three rooms total. The equipment isn’t the newest or most state of the art. However, the personal trainers are great, the other people are amazing. The whole environment is really personal! The price is also pretty great, $ 23 a month with no contracts. If you live nearby, or if you’re just sick of the hamster wheel that is 24 hour fitness, it’s worth checking out.

I’ve been training with Chris Moedritzer here for about two months. He is excellent. This is a smaller-scale personal training studio, rather than a gym. I don’t have a lot of gym experience so I didn’t give it five stars because that would be «as good as it gets,» and frankly, I’m not qualified to say that. But I have really enjoyed working out here. It’s $ 25/month for a keycard so you can get in and train anytime from 5AM until 10PM. And I go on Sunday mornings a lot and no one else is there. *Love* being able to work out alone. And you can plug in your iPod. More importantly, I’m feeling strong and friends have been noticing my «guns.» :)

I’ve been training with John for over a year and a half and was really excited when he opened up a space of his own. It’s a convenient location off of Lake City Way in North Seattle with plenty of parking. Everyone who goes there is there to work out hard so it’s a great inspiration and motivation on those rather be doing something else days. The equipment is clean and well maintained and you never have to wait to use it. Supplies of water, energy bars and fish oil are available. This is a great gym for the person who has never worked out before to someone that’s been exercising for years and is looking to switch things up and create new challenges for themselves. I’m in the latter category and was looking to take my fitness to a new level. I chose John for this task because I’ve watched him training clients for a long time and knew that he could provide the challenge I wanted. He LOVES what he does and it shows. His knowledge of fitness and nutrition never ceases to amaze me. I learn something new every session. Plus, the workouts are fun. I mean, I actually look forward to getting my ass kicked and handed back to me every training session. All of his clients will tell you the same thing. He keeps it challenging, fun, and never boring. I’m always impressed when John starts with new &/or inexperienced to exercise clients as well. He completes thorough assessments to determine at what fitness level they are at and designs a program customized to their skills, goals and needs. He can also create nutrition plan to meet weight loss, muscle gain, or fat loss targets. And, he’s not going to try to sell you something you don’t need or can’t afford. There are many options from individualized to group sessions or to use the gym for your own workouts.
