MICHELEISAWESOME. I found Michele a few months ago and she has cut my hair four or five times since. I’ve always struggled to strike the right balance between super basic barber-shop haircut,(which usually has varied quality and looks okay but is cheap) to super Salon haircut(which looks a bit better, but costs way too much for my monthly cut.) Michele totally strikes that balance. She asks what I’m looking for, but unlike other barbers /stylists, she also offer guidance on what she thinks would look good. So far, all of my haircuts have been awesome, and the scalp /shoulder rub at the beginning is an added bonus. My wife says they are the best haircuts I’ve ever had. If you’re just a guy looking for a great haircut, try Michelle. You wont be disappointed.

Michele Tucker at at Evolve Organic Salon is amazing! I have dirty blonde hair and she is a wizard with cut and color. I get compliments constantly on my hair, and really enjoy my hair appointments with Michele. The salon has a great atmosphere, and I love the organic products Michele uses. My hair feels health, smooth and smells great. Thanks, Michele!

Full disclosure: I am a lazy Unilocal-er, as I usually just consume others reviews and never give any in return. Yes, I feel guilty about this lopsided relationship, but I was never entirely motivated until now. That is until recently, when I discovered Michele and her adorable hair salon in Roosevelt. This morning when I glimpsed yet-another-fabulous-hair-day hair in the reflection of a car window, I realized I can’t keep Michele a secret. Holy moly, Michele is a miracle woman with hair. I have thick, curly, unruly hair. Until recently, I’ve always had a hate relationship with the poof, the frizz, the mind-of-its own, uncooperative nature of curls. It is only now in my adult life that I have learned how to embrace /style /wear my hair natural. After spending years finding a stylist who could actually give me a cut that complimented my curls, it was heartbreaking when I moved states and had to start the search anew. I was literally scheduling cuts around my trips back to Colorado after some less-than-inspiring hair cuts in Seattle at other salons. …and then I found Michele in Seattle. WOW! Michele literally gave me the best hair cut I’ve ever had. Michele understands curly hair, she gets the look I am trying to achieve, and she pulls it off. She has also helped steer me in the right direction for styling tips, etc., to get the most out of my new do.(Best tip was how to make unwashed hair last another day and look fabulous to boot.) For the first time in my life I can role out of bed WITHCURLYHAIR and my hair just instantly looks«fabulous.» No joke. I use very little product and my cut just«air drys» and looks insanely gorgeous. Thank you Michele for making a curly girl proud of her curls. My husband has even changed from preferring me with straight hair to now not getting enough of my curls. Do not hesitate. I may seem a little over-the-top enthusiastic for a reviewer, but honestly, it’s simply because I finally love my hair and have Michele to thank. Michele is hands down the BEST curly-hair expert in town.

DEFINITELY book an appointment with Michele Tucker. She is an amazing stylist and a whole lot of fun. Michele cut my hair in Chicago for over a decade and I would recommend her to everyone. Consider yourself very lucky to find her.

I followed Michele Tucker here from her previous salon because I totally adore her. I’ve referred tons of friends to her already and they all love her just as much as I do. I first saw Michele for a cut and color — I knew I was bored with my hair but didn’t really know what to do with it aside from just hack it off. Luckily, Michele sat me down and gave me all sorts of suggestions(with photo reference!) for great long styles that wouldn’t feel so heavy and boring. When she gently suggested highlights I was skeptical to say the least, but I’m so glad I listened. I love the way they look and my hair still felt completely healthy afterward. Months later, I wanted to do something wild but still keep my hair long and Michele gave me the raddest little side mullet with micro bangs you ever did see. It was not an easy cut to pull of and she managed to make it look super cute whether its down or up in a pony. Magic! As if that weren’t enough, Michele is just totally delightful to be around. She is sweet as can be and funny and interesting and all-around wonderful. You’ll feel like you’re visiting an old friend when you see her.

I have wavy, wacky hair, and haircuts have been something I’ve dreaded most of my life. But I always enjoy my visits to Evolve. Tova not only does a great job with my hair but also serves delicious tea, uses fantastic organic products, and gives great scalp massages in a relaxing environment. I love when they have different art on the walls every time I come in, and I’ve been very satisfied with the hair products they’ve recommended. Online booking is easy. This is my favorite salon of all time!

I’m getting ready to head out of the country for the summer and I wanted to get my hair done done last-minute. A friend recommended me to Jeska and I’m so thankful! Jeska is warm, friendly, and honest, and listened to what I wanted(a rich auburn that would last the summer). I got a great color, a complimentary bang trim, and was in and out right on schedule. The shop is cozy and comfortable, and Jeska offered me lemonade right as I came in, a welcome suggestion on such a warm day. Overall, very pleased, and I’m sure to be back in the future. :)

I’m not great at writing long reviews but Jeska gave me an awesome, perfectly natural looking(for my dark blonde hair) partial foil highlight in February and today I had maybe the best cut I’ve had since moving to Seattle 9 years ago from Tova. Excellent. Ogranic products. Both ladies took time to listen to what was important to me and made my hair look awesome even though I don’t think I gave the best description of what I wanted. My new go-to spot!

I just got another wonderful haircut at Evolve Hair and Art. Tova has cut my hair for years, she has an amazing eye and gift for framing one’s head and hair while providing great service and support.

I’m an out-of-towner and needed styling help for a wedding, and I found Evolve down the street from where I was staying. Tova helped me make an appointment with Jeska. Pretty painless — I called and left a message on Monday(they’re closed) and I got a call back the next morning. I told Jeska about how my hair usually falls really flat after a few hours of getting it all pretty. I was also really unhappy that my hair was going through an awkward growing-out phase. I gave Jeska creative freedom and she tried different things, asked me if I’d like this and that. The results were wonderful and I’m still getting compliments about my hair. Jeska took my concerns to heart and armed me with enough bobby pins and hairspray(she calls it «hair glue») to survive a zombie apocalypse. On top of all that, it only took 45 minutes, including the«consultancy.»

I made an appointment, showed up on time, & I was told«I’m running late. Need 5 min» TWICE. after waiting 20 mins, I cancelled, walked next door to Derby Salon and received instant, FRIENDLY service! Making a customer wait when they make an appointment = lost customer and bad review. FAIL.

Love this salon! Love the people who work here(I go to Christi but they all seem to do a super job); love the products. Everything is organic and such high quality! Strongly recommend this place. You won’t regret it!

Evolve is a great neighborhood salon — I’m so happy we found them. The ambiance is peaceful and they always pamper you with tea and chocolate. Their prices are reasonable and Tova is a great stylist and colorist. She listens to your needs and makes the right recommendations for your hair type. My experience with their eco-friendly coloring system has been positive — no allergy reactions.

I had written the salonist about this the day when it happened, and she did offer a free cut to make up for it, although I didn’t accept that. I don’t want to make it seem like it’s an evil place — I’m sure Tova is a really nice person in real life. It was just a bad experience that I don’t want to deal with potentially again.

I was turned onto Evolve in response to an online coupon deal for a discounted haircut. I instantly felt comfortable with Tova, and loved that I was supporting a local, female-owned, environmentally-aware business! Tova is very easy-going and something about just being in the space makes me relax. She did a great job with my haircut and was able to give my fine hair layers to create volume rather than just a recipe for flyaways or a cut that looks shaggy all of the time(I’ve experience both problems after cuts from other salons). I went back to her last weekend for an up-do and she did a great job in matching the inspirational images that I provided and incorporating an antique haircomb that I brought in. My up-do lasted all night, and survived a lot of dancing. Also worth noting: I came to the shop for the up-do on a Saturday and for some reason it didn’t even occur to me that I’d need to pay for parking. Tova happened to notice a ticket landing on my windshield for the oversight and felt so bad that she gave me a discount on my ‘do.(How sweet is that?!) Just goes to show that she really cares about her customers.

Fiscal conservatism(the real kind, not the 21st century Republican kind) had me laying back a bit on swanky salon coddling, so I’d been doing all kinds of chemistry experiments of my own here at home, where people couldn’t laugh at me-or if they did, I could take away their XBox. Unfortunately that meant I used a temporary hair dye to turn my hair goth black… apparently forever, because it seems that by «lasts through 18 shampoos» L’Oreal actually meant to say«enjoy the nightlife, Vampira. Good thing you’ll live forever, because so will your squid-ink hair.» So a few triage self-treatments later and still looking like something you might sweep up from beneath the sofa, I was delighted to see a Groupon filter in for Evolve, which is a mere block from my house. Despite my history of overcommunicating-even bringing photos in to stylists for reference-I rarely find someone who actually delivers(much less intuits) what I ask for. Whether I come in there for dark brown, highlights, or black with orange pieces, somehow I always seem to leave with dishwater brown hair with Bellevue mall-shopper highlights. It’s depressing. But I guess I’ve just learned to expect it. So I wasn’t hyper explanatory with Tova; I wasn’t even sure what I did want… only that I wanted something much less boring. Now hear this, Seattle: In addition to being a super warm, positive person and( Unilocal reviews testify!) an amazing listener, Tova knows what the hell she is doing. Though her sweet Zen guilelessness and her laid-back, tea-serving«cozy living room» salon might belie this fact, Tova’s a tiger, and her New York model-circuit years come through in how effortlessly and artistically she colors. She expertly wove blonde and black pieces all throughout my coif(I’ve uploaded pictures) and I’ll be back to have her clean up my crazy layers-formed more by Darwinist«survival of the least processed» methodologies than by anything deliberate like haircuts. I really can’t overstate her talent. I’ve had a long, rocky history with stylists even at the foolishly expensive salons. I once spent $ 220 at Magnum Opus in Portland to have my hair burnt off. It fell out in clumps and they still collected my payment! So it was crazy to just stumble through the Groupon chute and find The Stylist I’ve Been Looking For… a block away and for a fair price(not cheap but not crazy; normal price for my color would have been $ 120). I should also note that she has treats out for her guests – good teas and organic dark chocolate. If you’ve been feeling like you’re speaking! Kung to your hairstylists, or that somehow they’re translating everything you say to Oppositelandish, I really recommend giving Tova a shot. From a woman with severe salon whiplash, I’m telling you, she’s damn good.
