Honestly I personally prefer to cook chicken for myself at home but I was in the neighborhood and was in the mood for some chicken so I stopped by Ezells. What I can say, is that they are consistent the same chicken taste and texture that I had years ago is still the same today.

Deducting 2 stars for charging 70 cents for 2 packets of condiments. I paid $ 14 for a chicken tender combo(5 tenders) fries, drink, roll, also ordered a side of ocra. For spending $ 14 I was shocked to be charged for additional condiments. That’s just ridiculous. The food was pretty good, it was hot and fresh. The tenders were tender but not overly flavorful. The roll is soft and tasty. Ocra was good. Staff not overly friendly.

Why, every time I come here, do I feel like I’m putting them out? Like I’m bothering them by just walking in the door? And I don’t think I’m the only one… I’ve never actually seen them be friendly to ANYONE. The staff is incredibly rude, and the chicken seems to get greasier and greasier each time. I’m done.

Honestly this place is getting worse and worse. Used to be soooo good. Now I get tasteless and bland chicken. It honestly needs more seasoning. I think the original owner left. I hope you guys fix yourselves before we lose another local restaurant.

Not sure what the hype is about. Got the 3 piece combo and the chicken wasn’t even crispy… Sign it’s been sitting out for a while. Also, chicken had a weird texture… Grossed me out I couldn’t even finish the second piece. So, yeah it was dry but the texture seemed… Idk like maybe it was old chicken and was frozen or both… It just didn’t feel like chicken. Can’t really describe it. I’m not being overly picky here, I am from the south and have had the best fried chicken ever in New Orleans, but seriously… I guess because it’s like the only place around besides KFC but I would rather go to KFC next time then to try this place again. Also, it was two of us ordering together, each got the 3 piece combo with sides… $ 25 and then we realize they have an 8piece with large sides and rolls for less than $ 25… Any good employee would know their menu and maybe offer that option to their customer, two extra pieces… Anyway it would have gone to the trash. But still.

People who live South of Seattle, I understand that there aren’t many GOOD places to eat, but for the love of anything good, why the high rating here? 1. Take out only. 2. The so-called«biscuit» is a sweet roll. 3. The chicken was awful. I mean, really awful. I’ve had half cooked frozen pieces of fried chicken that were much better. 4. Seriously, the so-called«biscuit» is a sweet roll. WTF! 5. Seriously, the fracking fried chicken was horrible. Normally, when it sits under those heat lamps, the grease drips and it gets crispier– not here. Apparently, it just tastes worse. How this place even stays open, let alone has decent reviews, is beyond any rational mind. Unbelievable.

I haven’t eaten at the skyway locations but the food from the food Truck that shows up at my work every Thursday is amazing! Nothing better than good chicken!

Amazing chicken! My son and I stop in here sometimes when we’re up at the Grocery Outlet in Skyway. The spicy chicken is actually spicy! And soooooo juicy and flavorful. The mashed potatoes are real potatoes, lumps and all and the rolls are warm and soft. We usually just grab a couple of two piece meals but I think we need to start trying more. I miss good Southern style chicken and gizzards and Ezell’s is the best place I’ve found to get tasty chicken. The only thing I’d like to see is a sit down style restaurant but then again, the grab and go style is nice because the customer service is quick and I’ve never encountered anyone who wasn’t friendly. Sure, the location isn’t the best, but I grew up near Oakland and THAT is hood.

This location, in my opinion, is the 2nd best out of all of the locations. First being in the Central District across the street from Garfield HS, of course. The chicken is always extra juicy and fresh. If you’re coming here expecting some fantastic customer service, you’re just not going to get it. So, at least walk in knowing you’re going to get rung up by some girl with an attitude.

Quality chicken to go… It is hard to say anything bad about this chicken. I ordered a breast and thigh(spicy) for lunch today and really liked it. The chicken was so moist and the spice was just enough to give you a little heat but not be overpowering. The only negative I can say about the food was that the batter was a little more crispy than I prefer, but it was very tasty. I really wish they had a few tables in the restaurant so you did not have to eat the chicken in your car. Oh well, that is the price one pays to eat chicken at this location.

We were so disappointed with our chicken feast tonight! We did it up right: chicken, taters and gravy, baked beans, rolls, fried okra and peach cobbler. The chicken was bland, the gravy watered down and flavorless, the mashed potatoes very gluey and sadly, bland, the rolls lacked their fluffy sweetness! And the okra? Yuck! Was it just rolled in flour and fried? The only saving grace, if there was one was the cobbler, if that is what you call that chopped up mess. It tasted good, but looks… mangled. I want so much to support our local food scene, but that was not good.

This is the only chicken I eat. Idc if you guys think the place looks un inviting. Yeah, there’s a chance you might get shot at but that can happen anywhere. You’re in SKYWAY, not Bellevue. so get outta here with that bs. I’ve been coming to this location for four years and nothing has changed besides he prices, which I am totally fine with. The ladies that work here are friendly to you if you’re friendly to them and if you keep it to a minimum. Don’t ask them hella questions, don’t ask what’s recommended. And Waka Flocka came to this location because of me :’)

I don’t really understand why it’s so famous. The chicken is meh. It’s just a lot of breading without very much flavor to it. Costs are a little bit higher than I’d expect for the food, too. Granted, some of the sides are worth 4 stars — the beans are good(and I don’t like beans!) and the bread is absolutely yummy. Corn is okay but a little too spicy. However, as a whole package I’m not impressed. Add the unwelcoming attitude of the workers at this location, who were not rude but definitely not friendly, and I’m concluding that I can definitely go somewhere better.

It’s not often you wonder to yourself as you walk into a restaurant, «Hmmm I wonder if I’ll get shot here…» Located in the heart of Skyway, this Ezell’s branch is shady. Period. From the guys loitering outside to the bums hanging in the parking lot, I was resigned to the fact that the best place to park would be right at the front door, so I could make a quick getaway if needed. Very unwelcoming from the get-go. I walk in and, as directed by the sign, stood at the register to place my order. About 7 feet away from me was an esteemed Ezell’s employee, who briefly acknowledged me with a glance, then turned her back. Ok… fantastic. I stood there for about a minute more before she finally yells out«C’MONGETOUTHERE!» and the cashier arrives. The cashier was the highlight of this experience, as he was able to keep up with my semi-large order, without having to go back and ask me to repeat things. His efficiency gave me hope that I’d be able to leave this shit hole soon. The food came out pretty quickly, but it was ‘quickly’ on a suspicious level. I figured it was fine, since every other Ezell’s I’ve been to gave me food that was decent enough, so I didn’t bother to check. Well, my suspicions ended up being well founded as, when I looked in the bag to inspect my food, I found a disaster with some of the items. Namely, the chicken tenders looked like they’d been thrown against a couple walls before they put them in the bag. The batter was destroyed, making them look like they were partly eaten already. In terms of taste, the chicken was saltier and more breaded than other times I’ve had it, but the side dishes were consistent with the other locations. In closing, I’m guessing this particular location turned out a little more suspect than Ezell had originally envisioned.

Ezell’s has me hooked on the chicken tenders and fried Okra. They fry the chicken tenders perfectly, not to hard. Same for the fried Okra. Now I know what all the hype is about, especially being from out of town! You know if Oprah recommends a place, then its definitely worth it. I’m looking forward to trying other items on the menu on my next visit. Man, Seattle has some good food :)

If you’re looking for that friendly Southern polite assistance to answer any of your questions from the cashier here, forget it. Instead you get a monotone, curt question, «any thing else?» Followed by your total amount due. Quick and dirty. Great if you are in a hurry and know what you want. However, I don’t want to watch you turn to another employee and start cussing about some other person.

I made it a must to go to Ezells while I was in Seattle for a 36 hour trip, and I’m craving it more than ever! I’m from California and I don’t think we have a place good enough like this down here. I was a little bit thrown off on how to order at the place, but once I saw liver and gizzards on the menu… I almost had a heart attack because those are my absolute favorites!!! I ordered a 2 piece spicy w/a bun and ranch + hot sauce. Their hot sauce was killer delicious. The bun was sweet and was fluffy, literally. It was just so Fluffy and good. Don’t let me get to the chicken, the chicken was moist. Super moist and the crunchy outer skin. I’m a sucker for skin on chicken. I love love love ezells, and wish there was one in my area!

Is it just me or does their spicy chicken strips taste way better than the CD location? I’m not sure if it was because I went on a slow day(July 4th) but these came out hot, spicy and crispy. I would go out of my way if there weren’t closer locations to my place though.

If you live in Seattle and have NEVER had Ezell’s… boy do I feel bad for you ‘cuz you’re missin’ out!!! I think their chicken does what it does best, hits the spot ;) I have been coming to Ezell’s for years(this location & the one in the CD). I like this location in Skyway, as it is next to very many places on top of Skyway. You walk by a few feet away & you can still smell the aroma of hot, fresh chicken and freshly baked rolls. Mm mmm. haha. This location is like the typical location. Small & to the point. I love their chicken, I usually get one of the two piece dinners, with some gizzards. Let me just say… yes, their gizzards(spicy) are the bomb! Perfectly cooked and perfectly flavored. Only one person has been able to make bomb gizzards like this, and that’s my mama. Otherwise, Ezell’s does it best, and FRESH! Best believe it is worth waiting 10 minutes for sometimes. Otherwise, their mashed potatoes & gravy are 10x better than KFC’s, because’s it’s fresh & the gravy is tasty. Their fried okra is good if you like okra. I personally don’t like okra. Get their rolls because I can never get enough. I can eat like 2 rolls… in a row haha. Good, fast service… you just have to be patient because they have to make it fresh because they always run out of things. Good prices, good quality food, and you will never get tired of them. I don’t know if they are more or less than KFC(probably less) but the chicken is better, the rolls are better than the biscuits, and their gizzards and mashed potatoes by far, are the best!!!

Maybe it’s my fault, but I came into Ezell’s thinking their fried chicken would be like the most ridiculously awesome drool-inducing meal ever. I came in here with basically five-star expectations. So, I wasn’t disappointed necessarily, because it’s not like it was bad. I mean, it was wicked good. I guess I need to do a better job of tempering expectations — I mean, this is a fast food chicken joint, not a sit-down restaurant! Food quality obviously adjusts for that! Anyway, as expected, the chicken was rather tender and moist. Very delicious. However, it was advertised as spicy, and it most certainly wasn’t! Popeye’s spicy — which isn’t very spicy either — is much spicier. It’s all good though — I had some hot sauce that made up for the lack of heat. It’d be nice if they had a sit-down eating area, so you could eat your chicken right then and there. Driving it home obviously steams it up and softens it some, so it’s not quite as crunchy and crisp as it should be. Eons better than KFC and Church’s. And since it’s a fast-food place, I’d rate it right there with Popeye’s.
