Twice in a row I have been here and both times were spot on. A solid 5. I highly recommend it. The cook time takes a little bit because they cook it all fresh! Totally worth the wait.

The beer was $ 5 and the lamb kabob was $ 13. For a hole in the wall right at Pike Place I thought that a little pricey but the food was great.

Wow this place was good. Shared a gyro sandwich and it has to be one of the best I have ever eaten. The spice is just right and the sauce meat was seasoned perfectly. A+

I ordered delivery via Prime Now. Food got to me really quick, and the falafel sandwich I ordered was really good. Very flavorful and wrapped well so as to not be messy. It gets a 5 stars. The hummus I ordered on the other hand was fucking awful. It tasted like it was half salt and the other half raw garlic. Over powering with no taste of garbanzo bean or tahini. I would have given a 5 star review based on the falafel, but if they messed up the hummus this bad, I can only imagine what anything else might taste like.

1) He’s a crook, as others have mentioned 2) He makes incredible food Didn’t notice until I was adding up receipts from our trip that he overcharged me, but not my wife. I would still go back because the guy is a freaking genius with garlic and a grill. I’ll just count my change, my kids and my toes when I leave…

This is a one man show so expect things to be a little slow. We were starving after a walking tour and only had 45 min to grab something for lunch before another tour. Saw this place and the decision was made. Just be aware that the plates do not come with pita, that will set you back another 1.00. The owner is kinda shady about it too, he’ll say«Do you want pita». Of course, who doesnt want pita with their plate? In my opinion, the plate should come with pita and nope, its not worth the extra 1.00. The chicken was ok though, a tiny bit dry, but it was flavorful. The plate was enough for myself and my spouse to share. The salad was good, the rice ok, the hummus ok too. A solid 3 stars.

I came here real quick because all I wanted a a falafel since I wasn’t hungry but it sounded good. When I placed my order the guy looked at me weird since I only wanted 1 falafel which came out to be ~$ 1. The falafel itself was good and they guy served it on some lettuce with some sauce. The place was small but it got the job done and the wait wasn’t too bad.

Good food and do not need to wait long. Next to Pike Place Market. Open on July 4th, save my life!

I got a falafel sandwich and greek fries to go and it set me back about $ 14. While it wasn’t a bad meal, there are other shops in the area which offer better quality and value. Also, be prepared to wait when you order here. We were the first in line and it took over 20 minutes to get our food. The pita bread was a cut above the spongy stuff most places use and the falafel itself had decent flavor but was dry and crumbly. If you love garlic to the point of only wanting to taste garlic then you would like their garlic sauce. Personally, I’m glad the falafel at the top of the sandwich escaped saucing or the only flavor that would have come through the garlicyness would have been the plentiful and strong onions.

DON’T PASSTHISPLACEBY! In my opinion, this is some of the very best Shwarma in the Seattle area. This IS as good as it gets! I highly recommend this place. The guy running the place is extremely friendly and makes some of the best Shwarma around. Very delicious and inexpensive! I have tried everything on this menu and not a single bad item!!! We eat from here at least twice a week. If your love for garlic is like ours and you simply can’t get enough of the garlic sauce… creamy fresh garlic with perfect amount of the garlic zing. If this is your thing then you have come to right place. But it is a good flavor full zing… you simply don’t want to stop eating it! My go to order is the Shwarma platter with just the rice. The flavors are perfect. They add a spicy garlicky sauce to the chicken and the tzatziki sauce to the beef(it included the hummus, rice, and salad.) Their lamb is grilled perfectly. Moist and lightly marinated. It is tender and juicy grilled with onions and tomatoes and is served with flavorful rice. All for around $ 10. I enjoy Shwarma, but have never found a place in Seattle that inspires me to keep coming back… until Falafel King. Spoil your taste buds and senses to real authentic shwarma… The AVENGERS would approve!!!

(4÷20÷2015) We were on the way to the market for seafood and had a non-seafood(for medical reasons) eater with us. Stopped by Falafel King on the way to get a couple of bites, had two falafel and two stuffed grape leaves. The lone guy behind the counter was on his Bluetooth headset went I walked in and didn’t stop talking on it the whole time I was there, not while taking my order, not while cooking, not while serving other people seated at tables. The food was good, standard and cheap. If this is your neighborhood(maybe you’re a desk jockey or a downtown suit) it’s possibly a good option for lunch; if you’re tourist, don’t expect this to be an example of Seattle hospitality.

Delicious food for a great price and nice sized portions! It is cooked fresh right in front of you, the only downside is the seating. This little hole-in-the-wall GEM is perfect for a delicious quick meal. All of their«Plates» are served with a small side salad and rice and they also have«Sandwiches/Gyros» if you are on the Go. I love the Schwarma, my kids love the Gyro and my husband gets the Gyro Plate… We are here at least twice a month and are NEVER disappointed! Yacob the owner is friendly and always helpful eager to make his customers happy! They even have a punch card!

Food and location are good, however there’s a shady practice whereby they’ll tack on an extra buck or two to your order in hopes that you won’t notice. We did and when we asked about it first they said it was tax(it clearly wasn’t) then they said it was for extra pita bread. Only problem? We didn’t order any extra pita nor did they serve us any after charging us for it. I imagine this little trick nets them a few grand over the course of a year, with plenty of tourists oblivious to it. I’d rather they just raise the prices to what they feel is fair and just do some straightforward business. If that were the case then I’d bump this review a star or two.

I said no onions :(and they put in the onions. I was the only customer to go too. Wasn’t impressed. I’m not sure how the falafel’s taste like when you eat it fresh… but after 15 minutes of walking to get to my destination, and eating my to go falafel. the pita was sooooo dry. So hard that I could not eat it easily(and did not want to either). So I ended up eating around it. Was alright. Nothing special. All I remember was how hard the pita was, and how they forgot that I requested no onions. Sadness :(

Not sure if I would call them the King or da Kang… but they in the royal court. Location is on 1st near Pike Place Market main entrance area. Walked by this place for years as you can smell what they be cooking up. Small place but my coworker and I were able to enjoy our lunch sitting outside watching the gentlemen folk go in & out of Deja Vu across the street. Anyways, food was a solid 3 star in my opinon, I got the chicken shawarma plate, had plenty of sauce, rice was ok, chicken was ok. But so much garlic flavor, I like garlic just like anyone else but lord have mercy… all I tasted for the rest of the day was garlic. I even have a toothbrush & toothpaste at my desk, yea, I brushed my teeth afterwards. Comes with a little side salad and the portion was pretty huge and pricing was fine. My coworker got the falafel pita, he liked it, nicely fried and good size and enjoyed the pita. Seems like Falafel King goes heavy on the spices but its a pretty decent spot and would come back once in a while.

I would have hated myself if I went to Seattle without having any middle eastern food. This place was sufficient, but I still felt a void in my desire to have great middle eastern food. I got the falafel pita. It was as one would expect a falafel pita to taste. The location is great and they had some good craft beer varieties, but then again, what place in Seattle doesn’t have good beer? It was okay, but left something to be desired. There were four seats in the building and it was tiny. It will satisfy a craving but it’s nothing to write home about.

How I heard of this place: A walk along First Avenue, making one’s way around the Pike Place Market one cannot help but be enticed by the wafting smell of deep fried balls of falafel goodness. Type of cuisine: Mediterranean fare at its best including everything from Spanakopita, Baba Ganuje and Hummous, Salads, Shawarma, Kabobs, Falafel and all the delicious sides you crave. Ambiance: Reminiscent of walks through the falafel shops in Israel, this open-windowed shop, complete with indoor-outdoor barquette gives patrons the Middle Eastern experience not only through the setting, but also through its tasty food. What I ordered: Four falafel pieces($ 0.75 each), gloriously set atop a bed of Romaine lettuce, topped with a drizzle of creamy tahini. What I loved: Tahini drenched falafel balls. O.M.G. Why I loved it: The perfect setting for a warm afternoon snack or bite with food quality and flavor taking one back to the small streets and alleyways of Haifa, Israel. Heaven. Cost: Low to average($ 4.99 — $ 9.75 per entrée)

I like this place, and I think I find humor in the fact that Falafel King is right across the street from Deja Vu Showgirls. Ah… I’m going to hell for that one. Anyway, you have an excellent falafel stand here that is practically a part of Pike Place Market with how close it is to the rest of the stores. But with all the cars zooming by on the street separating this place from Showgirls, it really feels more like a part of Downtown Seattle. Despite the excellent location, this restaurant is surprisingly cheap and shows absolutely no sign of price gouging. Tourists would love coming here to get food at non-touristy prices. The best part is that the food is still pretty good, so this is a great place to take a break from Showgirls(though I vehemently deny ever going to the place across the street and then coming here for dinner). This is just a small and simple restaurant that gets the job done in a great area at great prices. I would probably go again… for the falafels, of course.

These reviews are right! It’s just an alright place. I was so excited to try this place because I loveeee Mediterranean food. Definitely one of my go to foods for comfort. It’s easily located on 1st ave next to the Pike Place entrance, across from starbucks I think. This place is a bit small and could be a bit crampy. I stood behind a guy who made himself look like he was in line(because he stood in front of the doorway and register) and o find out he was waiting for his food. Jerk! Anyways, I get their gyro because that’s my favorite. The menu doesnt indicate what kind of meat there is but I order it anyway. It is made in front of you by chef Yacob. The gyro is actually kind of small. For 7 bucks I expect a big one like aladdin or all the other Mediterranean places I’ve been to in seattle. It’s more like a skinny burrito almost the size of a churro or a taquito. The tahini is good but a bit too thin of a sauce for me and way too sour for my preference. The meat was also just alright. It had a slight spice to it which I enjoyed but I really wish it was bigger and meatier and more spices to really make it shine. Good service though. And the wait wasnt too long on a monday afternoon. Im sure the lines are longer on busier days though. I wish I ordered something else because I LOVE garlic breath… would’ve really liked that had I ordered something else. Maybe I’ll give it a 2nd chance to try their shawarma or something.
