I am a regular to this place for about 2 years now. Patricia is a wonderful barber. You get high quality service here and great ambience.

CAVEAT: Check my reviews and I have plenty of experience with my hair and with barbers so I tend to be extremely picky. I’ve probably reviewed around a dozen in North America so by now I know what makes a good barber and what suits my hair and does not. But while I’m picky, this place might work for you. PROS: — She gave me a good haircut. Undercuts/modern pomadours/skin tight fades/peaky blinders hairstyles don’t seem to have gone out of style yet so that’s what I’ve been sticking to the last couple years until I find something else that suits my hair. — At the end she kept showing me if I liked it in the mirror which was nice because I need it shorter around the hairline so good thing she asked. — She’s nice. — Her place isn’t like most barber shops in a good way. Lots of old style furniture and you’ve got some Spanish flamenco music playing. This is the kind of culture we need in Capitol Hill. — She took about 45 minutes on my hair so you can see that as paying close attention to detail. CONS: — The blend she gave me on the sides was a bit too short. I explicitly said I don’t need it shorter at the top of my sides because my hair sticks out if it’s too short; but it’s not the end of the world it still looks presentable because it’s not TOO short just a little shorter than ideal oh well It’ll be back to normal in around a month. Same issue with the back of my head. But part of that could have been probably miscommunication on my part and it still looks amazing, it just wasn’t ideal. — It’s one of those barber shops that face you away from the mirror when you cut your hair and that’s just unnerving for the entire half hour you’re sitting there. Besides Tim’s on 15th, most of the haircuts I’ve received at places like these are mediocre at best. CONCLUSION: Actually if I had gotten this haircut a year ago I would have rated it 5 stars. But per my caveat, I’ve been actively seeking different barbers that can really give me and my hair an ideal cut that work well with my hair type, overall style, and face shape. So I’m really just splitting hairs(haha) but chances are you’re not as picky as I am about your hair and chances are this will be the perfect place for you. I’m new to the area so I’m going to try other barbers next time to see if any fit me a little better. I’m partial to Tim’s on 15th, they gave me virtually what I wanted and gave me what I asked for less cost. Like I said, the cut looks good and is still 100x better than a Great Clips; but I’ve had perfect haircuts before and this was not one of them. It’s just not what I asked for/wanted, doesn’t fit my style, and will not cooperate with my hair type in a week or 2. There’s a slim-to-none chance I’ll come back, but you might have a different/better experience. You can tell Patricia is a hard worker and a great barber who deserves clients but I PERSONALLY will look elsewhere for a barber that I can see eye-to-eye with.

Patricia is clearly an artist, but gracious enough to entertain walk-ins and to provide customers with the exact cut that they are looking for, unlike some fashionable stylists who will only provide what they think is appropriate. The vacuum to suck up hair was awesome and she is good at gauging the customer’s pulse: chatty or quiet as required. The view onto Broadway while getting the haircut is also interesting. Heads up: cash only.

Patricia is the best! I’m continuously impressed by her care and attention to detail. She is friendly and works hard to make her customers happy. One example: when she is done she will vacuum my head all around to make sure all the little tiny hairs get cleaned up. It doubles as a nice head massage! One time she took the effort to let me try a new style. I didn’t like it and wanted to stick to my traditional style. She very graciously gave me my usual cut and didn’t make me feel rush or that I’d inconvenienced her. If that’s not enough, I like the plants and it’s a good view.

Patricia cut my husband’s hair while we were in Seattle. We walked in and she waited on us right away. She took her time and made changes that he asked for and was very sweet. Happy with the results. A bit expensive for a «barber shop» but in reality the attention we received was much more akin to a salon so we were fine with the price. Discounts for students too.

Patricia cuts my hair better than anyone. I really like that she takes her time, and does it right. I have been going there for about a year and half, and I have not had one bad experience. It is really just a laid back, relaxing atmosphere. Patricia is such a nice person as well. EDIT: She buzzed my hair a bit short. I gave her lots of leeway to do whatever she thinks looks good, but I received no compliments, and it made a few people giggle. Judging by the fact that she sort of re-cut the top, it might have been an accident on her part. We had a good run of 3 years, but I am going to try some other barbers.

A good haircut, a good price, and the owner was charming. Plus I like that you can watch the people pass by on Broadway from your perch in the barber’s chair. What more can you ask?

I have been a loyal Follicle customer for years, starting when I was a student at Seattle University. Patricia, the stylist, does an absolutely amazing job on my hair. I am Asian so there are certain parts of my hair that are difficult to cut, but she knows just how to handle it. My favorite part about Follicle is the relaxing experience you have when you’re there. The shop is filled with tons of unique plants and it is decorated in a cool, vintage style. If you are a man and in need of a haircut and live on Capitol Hill, Follicle is the place to go.

Patricia is also great with kids. Last year my son, Lucas(a dapper fellow, as you can tell from my photo), had steadfastly refused to go into one of the hipster places nearby – unnerved, I suppose, by the loud music and facial piercings. We drove around until I spotted the telltale barber pole outside Follicle. Inside, the atmosphere was tranquil: well-worn couches, live plants, and Manu Chao playing in the background. Lucas was still hesitant to get in the chair, but Patricia took the time to win him over, gave him a great cut(not that he noticed), and now he insists on going back there. If I wasn’t «follicularly challenged,» I’d be a loyal client as well. PS: Her hours are officially 10 to 6 Monday-Friday and 11 to 3 on Saturday, but she’ll stay open later if there are people waiting. She is closed on Sundays. PPS: On the subject of parking, Follicle has one marked space in the lot right behind the shop.

For about 2 years I had Patricia cut my hair and always looked forward to the haircut. She is super nice, friendly, holds a great conversation, and generally gives you a very relaxing pleasant haircut experience. She works at a super cute little shop and if you give it a chance you really won’t be going anywhere else. Sadly I had to move away but whenever I visit seattle I’m getting my haircut at Follicle! It’s $ 25 for a cut, which isn’t as cheap as you can find, but she really does a fantastic job and is clearly passionate about hair and eager to help make you look like a stud.

I have been a loyal customer for 3 ½ years, I love Follicle. A real barber on capitol hill that isn’t too cool, just gives great hair cuts? Count me in! I hope Patricia stays there for many years to come.
