This place has the best gyros and shwarma in the city. I swear! I went to Mr Gryros the other day and it was pretty ‘meh’. This little place, tucked into a run down building on Lake City Way, is my all time fave for Mediteranian sandwiches. The guys who own it are super nice, and like the other reviewer said, communication can be difficult because of the English factor. But they will do you up right with a heaping Gyro, dripping with the good stuff. I’m glad to hear they are still around and putting some effort into the décor. They really deserve some more business.

Despite having«Grocery» in the name, there isn’t much in the line of groceries here. However, there are Gyros and a few other foods from the Mediterranean. I’ve only really had the gyros here and I’ve really enjoyed them. I’ve also had the baklava and it was extremely good and fresh. The inside of the place isn’t much to look at, it’s in a really old run down building and the owner hasn’t done much to improve the look. The people who run the place are nice and friendly, though communication can be a bit difficult sometimes. Completely unrelated to the quality of the food or anything… one time I was walking by the place thinking that perhaps I’d go get a gyro I looked in the window and there was the owner, in the window sitting in a chair facing out towards the street fast asleep! UPDATE: They have put some work now in to renovating the place. They’ve re-arranged things, put the stove up front and put some paint on the walls which makes the place look a lot better. So, I’m giving an extra star for effort… they’re definitely trying!
