IHOP

Server was awesome not to crowded for a late week night. I ordered extra cheese an wanted it melted an it was exactly what I wanted you wouldn’t believe how many times I get that order messed up. Only reason I knock off 1 star is how small an cramped it is especially the bathrooms.

I’ve been here lots of times and I never had the chance to give a review, so here it is…
For where it is, you can’t help but expect for this place to be busy. I mean it is centrally located in cap hill. Especially nights on the weekends, tends to get super busy. Despite it being so busy, they’ve always provided stellar service. For me, anyway. Never did once I complained about this place. Staff were always alert and attentive, courteous and friendly.
If you love breakfast food then there’s really not much to say. For what it’s worth, you get your money’s worth! I had my food to go today and everything was on point! They even remembered my Tabasco to go, lol. ;)
As long as this place is here and they provide excellent service, I will always come here!

I was pleasantly surprised with my family’s visit to IHOP. Our server Sean was on point and very friendly. I didn’t expect him to follow the steps of service but he did while juggling other demanding tables. I think my favorite thing was the fact to sensed urgency and got our son a bowl of fruit before our entrees hit the table. Everyone was friendly not just Sean but I would have to say my normal cringed face when the in-​laws take us to an IHOP may now be changed. At least for this location. Great job SEAN and teammates! Bravo!

IHOP, how hath thee fallen so far?
When I was a child growing up in Tennessee and an IHOP was built down the street, I was so stoked. Pancakes any time with any toppings? Hells yeah! My very kind and patient grandparents would often take me and my siblings to IHOP for an enjoyable weekend breakfast at dinner time and I remember those visits and the food fondly.
Unfortunately, this IHOP did not live up to those childhood expectations, which to some extent is expected, but Christ was this ever disgusting.
I’ve been to this IHOP on two occasions. The first was during the middle of the day on a weekend and the food was standard IHOP fair and a solid 3 stars. The second time was last week around 7pm on a Saturday night and I had what must have been the most disgusting plate of hash browns I have ever witnessed. I asked for them to burn the hashbrowns slightly because I prefer them crisp, and instead I got a patchily cooked blob of grease with some grease flavored shreds of potato attached.
With that grease pile I also had a waffle, which was lukewarm and overcooked, and my friend had crepes, which he said took chewy to a whole new level. I mean, these things were like trying to eat a rubber balloon that someone forgot to blow up at a kid’s birthday party.
The kicker? For those crepes, a milk shake, a soda, and the waffle (the waitress was kind enough to remove the charge for the inedible hashbrowns) we paid $ 36 with tip. $ 30 for the food, and $ 6 for the poor waitress who was kind but probably doesn’t make enough money given the exorbitant food prices.
I was absolutely floored. I do not remember IHOP as an expensive greasy spoon. Maybe it always was and I was just too young to know the difference, but my suspicion is that this particular branch just flat out sucks.
TLDR: AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU HAVE A BETTER JOB TO OFFER ONE OF THEIR STAFF IN WHICH CASE PLEASE DO SO AND THEN LEAVE.

I «have» to give this chain a star in order to relate my complaint. My daughter n I ordered coffee, horrible watered down caffe of coffee. We didn’t even finish our first cup and asked for the tab. OVER $ 6!!! Really? Never again…

This place is a joke. Once you walk in you will hear a server shout out «hola!“ok. Are we at American restaurant. True server Patricia is the worse service. She took our order then disappeared until our bill. The other server brought us our food which she was fairly friendly. The worst part is I ordered a jalapeño and literally they brought 3 pieces and charged 1.07… For a pickle jalapeño!!! So when I told the server Patricia that last time you guys didn’t charge and this is way overpriced. Response from her was well we do now. So I talked with the manager and there was no apology or any kind of customer service… Chic filet does a better service. The food was good but I will definitely not be back with this kind of service.

A Great tasting and wholesome breakfast of Chocolate Chip Buttermilk Pancakes an Egg over-​easy and some bacon to fill it out. The pancakes, egg, and bacon were nearly as perfectly as was their impeccable customer service. Shout to José in the Kitchen. That egg was off the chain.

As busy as this place is, I love coming here. The servers and the staff are very polite, they smiled and greeted us as we walked in. They came and served us very quickly seeing that there was so much people sitting down to eat. They were fast at working.
The food is hearty and neatly set on each plate. I ordered a breakfast sample with cinnamon sugar French toast, and it was so delicious I ate it all. I can honestly say I’m never unhappy with my breakfast here, they always keep me happy and full when I leave!
Only problem is the seating, it is very tight booths. But totally understandable due to having been a very old restaurant and in the corner lot! This is a very well kept, restaurant that’s been here for years. Walking out you see a person sweeping out the parking lot which helps keep the area maintained! I’m very pleased with my experience coming here.

We had our usual and they did an excellent job! Paid a $ 1.50 for a small bowl of Salsa it’s usually free at the Tyler location in Cali!
Awesome food and awesome service!

It’s always busy, but the service is great here! We didn’t have to wait too long either. It’s IHOP food, so don’t expect it to be high quality. Still delicious either way.

Aside from the seemingly always minimally short staffed approach to service this location suffers from, this location would get five stars if the bathrooms were cleaner. If the amount of drunk college teenagers were less (unfortunately it’s next to a college and on Capitol Hill) and if they people or servers that take your phone order were more polite. Don’t expect the food to be ready in the time they tell you either over the phone. Wait an hour and then leave your house. Honestly I’ve given up home on any delivery or pick up service. Just wish they sold those French toast stuffed things frozen, they are literally so addicting! Hopefully this location can get some new hires, a face lift and some smiles for service!!!

Nicest staff! Lots of big smiles and team work. Food is as to be expected and we left happy. Complementary parking while in the restaurant but it’s a tiny lot

In short, it’s IHOP food, so not great quality, but the servers are very patient, courteous and gracious. I’ve never had anything but stellar customer service here.

I always come here with my friends when there’s a late start. The staff are always so kind and patient. I’m pretty basic so I usually just get a short stack and their bomb ass hash browns. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re ever craving pancakes!

This place is 24 hr! Service is decent. Every time I go here nothing goes wrong with orders and we always get friendly servers. The wait on food time is not bad at all. Although the restaurant itself is super tiny, it always wrks out. Anytime, any day!

Took my large group of drunken (various degrees of drunk, from the stumbling to the mostly sober) friends to this place late at night when we needed some genuine fuel in our bodies. Service was patient, courteous, and friendly to an almost unexpected degree. They had the patience of saints and the positive experience we had here turned our somewhat sauntering down night around.
Food is your typical fare for a IHOP, Denny’s, what-​have-​you. Good prices, filling and exactly what we needed. A+, would stop by again.

Kind of weird when the highlights of my dining experience here were the old lady burping behind me and the guy in front of me picking his nose while chatting with his friends. Ambiance, I suppose?
The staff was very friendly in a genuine sort of way that was honestly a little surprising for what I was expecting out of this chain. Normally, employees tend to just coast through the day while going through the motions. On the downside, No one ever to refill my water glass even after it was established it was the only beverage I wanted.
As far as the food goes, it was standard IHOP fair. I got the breakfast sampler and everything came out as ordered.

Who doesn’t love some classic IHOP breakfast food, any time of the day or night, across the street from your university?
Not only does this IHOP deliver in convenience and delicious and dependable food, the service and staff here are amazing. They are always very kind and patient, especially considering the kind of folks they serve on a daily basis (a mix of drunk/​hungover college kids and the colorful population of Capitol Hill.)
There is a comfortable family-​esque vibe and the servers are always smiling and making me smile. I would definitely recommend stopping by and tipping well!

Didn’t really like the location — and like most fast food, my fond memories of eating the crepes and the patty melt in college have faded.
The service here is good and the staff is very prompt. The manager seems very militant.
My low review is just more a reflection of my dislike for fast food rather than knocking this specific restaurant.
I also had to sit at a small table and try to eat multiple plates of food on a table too small for it while the booths were all taken up by coffee campers. People who buy $ 1 coffees and sit at a booth for hours reading the paper and loitering.
No thanks.

I enjoy this restaurant every time that I go. This hot cakes are awesome!
