Second time I have received old and cold roast pork. Let’s face it I just go because kau kau is always so busy. I guess they are for a reason.

I’ve tried the sausage, roasted chicken, and bbq pork here. The sausage and roasted chicken are decent but the bbq pork, worst taste ever. It’s salty and greasy tasting(in a bad way). The people who run the place is pretty nice though. They only accept cash.

Top shelf fresh meats 100% legit I don’t understand some of the negatives I’ve read I’ve been here 5 times now and never a bad experience 100% satisfied customer I highly recommend the duck to anyone that likes it best I’ve had in Seattle by far

My family has been coming to this store for god knows how long to buy roast duck. It’s totally worth it because this is some of the best roast duck in town. Despite the accessible location of this store, its minimal presence on Unilocal does not surprise me because it appeals to a very specific demographic. I guess that most Americans don’t need to visit Chinese butcher shops, but my family does not fall into that category. Basically, this place is a butcher shop, though it is a bit on the small side. There is a very minimalistic approach to how they run things because aside from a menu and a few dead animals, there is not much inside this store. I’m not complaining, though, because evidently it works. They don’t have the whole farm here hanging on hooks, but they don’t need to because the business runs just fine. The roast duck here are $ 17.00 each, which sounds like a lot but is actually a good deal. There is a substantial amount of meat in that duck, plus it tastes great. The butcher will chop the duck up for you before your eyes and put the pieces in a tray, but with no gloves on. I would prefer that they refrain from touching ready-to-eat foods with their bare hands, but I’ve never gotten sick from here before. I’ve only had positive experiences from this store, so it gets a positive review from me.

Too bad the hype is all wrong. I was so excited and hungry-so willing to try this place as I heard great things about their bbq. I got here on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t as busy as I’ve seen before. They have lunch box specials for 5.99 and up. I wanted bbq pork and duck, which was 6.95. Pretty good deals if u ask me. The lady who was the wife was friendly at first. Then she kept gesturing at her husband to not give me sauce with my dry food. Sad. The duck was bland. Super flavorless and the skin was not as rendered as other ducks at Asian bbq places. The skin had no flavor or spices either. Really disappointing. The bbq pork was hard, dry, old and bland. The marinade was not the typical kind you get from like Kau Kau or other Chinese places. It was disappointing because of the taste and how old it was. Service was okay. The guy was nice but the woman kept nudging the butcher and refusing things when he asked. Mehhh. I wouldn’t return unless it’s guaranteed fresh and flavorful. I dont want that old flavorless food!

the best bbq ribs, bbq pork and roast duck in seattle. the pork was neither mushy or salty – perfectly seasoned, not hard but juicy & tender. This is not a restaurant, just a butcher shop to go. cash only. way way way better than kau kau.

The best Chinese BBQ in Seattle. Get the ribs and try not to eat them all at once.

Mushy, salty BBQ pork. Not a fan. Will get mine in Uwajimaya next time. Duck and ribs looked pretty good, however not good enough to return.

Cash only spot. Shop at this location in the morning. The 12th ave location is just as good but even better when China town gets a lil cray.

King’s is a great place to go for Chinese roast and BBQ meats. Cash ONLY, but great price and way better then getting the stuff in the cooler at Uwajimaya(and I love Uwajimaya). I’ve only ordered Roast Pork and BBQ Pork, but I would love to return and try the roast duck and BBQ sausage. They also sell lunch boxes, which are basically your choice of meat on rice. Easy meal, I suppose. But like the others have mentioned, no seating area, it really is like a butcher shop.

Don’t expect to dine in here. You’ll be getting everything to go! I ordered a whole roast pig here for a party we had for my dad a few months ago. The pricing isn’t the cheapest in Chinatown, but I would say it’s just a bit above average. Though the pricing is a bit higher, the taste/flavor here is worth the money. I came here the other day for a lunch box special. Though their window price show’s $ 5, it’s actually $ 7. Pretty misleading, but it’s okay. I usually expect to spend around $ 8 for lunch. Make sure to pay attention to their pricing chart behind the counter!

You’re in for multiple surprises if you stop in to King’s for lunch with a bunch of friends. First: It’s not a restaurant. King’s is really a butcher shop for roasted and BBQ meats that also has lunch to go. There are no tables, and not much room to stand around inside. And it has that not-so-lovely, almost-abattoir ambiance. Next: Cash only. No need to figure out who is going to put lunch on their card, the answer is none of you. Finally: Really quick for lunch, and it’s pretty good. And you could pick up a whole roasted duck along with your lunch.

Great spot to pick up any Chinese style meats including roast duck, roast pork, bbq pork, salty chicken, roast chicken, etc. They even have chicken feet and animal intestines… You can order half a chicken or duck. The porks are by pound. It’s perfect for those evenings when I’m lazy to cook and just want a little something to eat with my plain rice. Cash only.

The three stars I’m giving King’s doesn’t mean I don’t like it, it means it’s just perfectly fine BBQ but I’m not desperate to go there when I’m in the neighborhood. I will say that my Taiwanese friend who grew up in Seattle says he and his family only go to King’s, so they have that going for them … but I’m always a bit put off by the lackluster service, dingy interior, and cash-only policy. Are they seriously not making enough money that they need to save on the credit card fees? I just don’t understand why people are still cash-only when even food trucks take credit cards now. Anyway … the BBQ itself is decent. It’s no better or worse than the surrounding Chinese BBQ places I’ve been to, so I feel safe in recommending it.

King’s Barbecue House is a Chinese BBQ shop next to Yummy House Bakery and close to Uwajimaya. This is no restaurant, though they do offer BBQ rice plates. Everything here is takeaway. My go to Chinese BBQ places are Kau Kau and Ton Kiang in that order, with King’s being my 3rd choice. Since I was running a little short on time, I decided to go to King’s rather than walk the extra couple blocks to go to one of the other BBQ places. Picked up a half pound each of the roast pork($ 8.50) and bbq pork($ 7.75). Flavor was okay, though I think the other two places that I mention offer better versions of these two items. Reason being flavor and taste. It’s not bad, but it could be better. Not to mention the pricing here seems a little higher since they need to add sales tax still. If you happen to swing by King’s, I wouldn’t rule against giving this place a try. It’s totally fine. Though I think you might enjoy Kau Kau and Ton Kiang’s offerings a bit more.

Whenever I’m feeling lazy to search around for food for my lunch break or when I feel like going home to eat. THISISMYSPOT. I highly recommend their BBQ ribs, wieners and roast duck. Their BBQ food is flavorful and it’s not too roasted, it’s pretty damn perfect for me to chew on. Watch out for the BBQ ribs though, they get stuck on my messed up teeth, so it sucks picking them out. but it’s worth it for the goodness. Funny thing is, I always wondered where my grandma buy her wieners and apparently we were destined to buy wieners at this place. This place accepts CASHONLY. It’s on the same street as yummy bakery house, shanghai garden and it’s across the street from this one bubble tea place that you can spy on if it’s busy or not.

This was my first proper chinese barbeque experience and I couldn’t be happier. Went for lunch and got the 2 item lunch combo which includes(plenty of) rice and two meat items of your choice(chicken, pork, duck, pork ribs, sausage, chicken feet, wings, tripe), and its only $ 6! I got the duck and pork ribs and it was delicious. The duck was tender and skin was nice and crispy. I can’t wait to go back and try more! Cons: cash only and no dine-in, but don’t let that stop you.

I feel like this place is kind of hit or miss. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it’s either been really good or just so-so. Was going to stop by another place, but it wasn’t open yet so we wentn here and picked up a couple of lunchboxes(rice w/2 choices of meat) $ 6.60/lunchbox. The amount of meat given was kind of inconsistent, one box had a good amount, the other seemed a bit skimpy. The bbq pork was gone well, but the roasted pork pieces given seemed to just be overly fatty. I’ve had their duck here and it’s tasty. My favorite has always been the curry squid, but they didn’t have that today. Okay, but based off of this last experience, I will be trying out other bbq places around the ID district. Cash only.

BBQ is their specialty and that is all they do, all day! They offer: Roast Pork, BBQ Pork, BBQ Ribs, BBQ Sausage, Roast Duck, Roast Chicken, Baked Salty Chicken, Soy Sauce Chicken and BBQ Box lunches to go. I got an order of both the roast pork and BBQ Pork. What a waste of my money! The pork was dry and fatty and the BBQ was overcooked with no flavor whatsoever. Kau Kau BBQ nearby is so much better… sad to say, I will not be coming back. Update: I went here January 2012 and found that the duck wasnt too bad so upped the stars to 3 stars. This could be because I put it in my Convection oven?! Hmmmm, if you must buy here, you gotta heat it up right as well.
