Had the shrimp and grits with egg. Flavorful and filling. The egg was served fried and runny, perfect for mixing into the grits. The grits were moist and Flavorful, I could definitely taste the butter. The best part was the bacon bits. I looked forward to every bite with those in it.

Such good food that they’re catering my wedding even though I worked there and so have had the food over and over again. Mike is the best.

5 minutes after 12noon for a lunch truck and out of Shrimp and Grits… Nuff, said…

I stopped at this food truck in Bellevue and ordered the shrimp and grits. I was a little disappointed that the grits weren’t cheesy or creamy but there was still a lot of flavor in the dish(probably because I put sriracha on it). I’d definitely get it again but cheesy grits would make this dish.

I look forward to Sunday every week so I can get shrimp and grits at the Mercer Island farmers market! I grew up in Charleston, SC and love my grits! Mike’s are perfectly prepared. The grits are deliciously simple and are only made better with the shrimp and bacon. I’m not sure how you couldn’t love this place!

I just picked up the pork adobo & grits meal… half of it leaked out of the container during the walk back to my desk. My first suggestion would be to use bigger boxes for the food so that the grease doesn’t leak out and ruin someone else’s new sweater. The food itself is subpar but definitely on the greasy side. I think I’ve consumed about 1⁄3 of the meal and i am calling it quits. If you try this place, make sure you have plenty of water because its very oily and salty.

Tried the shrimp N grits tonight at the queen anne farmers market and was really disappointed. My first tip off was no line whatsoever, second clue was the pastie white grits. Even though there was bacon, shrimp and an egg on it the grits had no flavor. Very bland. I couldn’t taste any butter, cream, cheese not even salt… nothing just grits. I’ve lived in the south and shrimp n grits is one of my favorite dishes but this was off the mark. I did like the texture of the grits and the shrimp and bacon were nice, but the blandness just over powered everything else.

The first time I visited this truck, I liked it. It was during the annual Taco Truck challenge in Volunteer Park and though they weren’t selling anything but tacos for the competition, the staff was kind and the shrimp & lime tacos were awesome. But, this past Sunday this truck was at the Mercer Island Farmer’s Market. I ordered the Adobo with grits and collard greens, which I was so excited to finally try since learning about it during my first visit to Kiss My Grits. But when I was paying for it, the cashier already added tip and asked me to sign for it. Okay, I didn’t realize you can read my mind and tip for yourself… So that was pretty lame. And when I got my food, the adobo was not nearly enough for the portion of grits they give you. It was also dry, so not very tasty. The collard greens were good — but like the adobo, the portion wasn’t much. The grits I found meh. They weren’t exceptional — definitely not ordering this meal again. Especially because I’m still so offended that they would tip for themselves.

My pork tacos were spicy as promised but fairly dry. Unfortunately«spicy» was the only flavor I tasted. The grits was the consistency of overcooked oatmeal and was overly salty. I’m not a super cheesy, creamy grits person, but this alternative was not what I was hoping for, especially since grits is literally in the name. The worst part, though, was the rude service. After I had finished my meal I borrowed the hot sauce for a friend and was met with not a ‘please, this is only for customers’ or ‘I’m packing up, can I please have that back’ but a ‘I need that back’ as he snatched it from my hand then as he walked away under his breath ‘that’s only for customers’. No need to worry — I won’t be a customer of yours any longer. Not a fan.

First of all, the grits had the texture of and more-or-less tasted like rice. I’m not from the south, nor have I had grits super often, but I’ve still had much better. After we’d eaten, some friends ordered some food from elsewhere, so my girlfriend briefly borrowed their hot sauce so they could use it. Almost immediately after she’d brought it back to the table, the owner(?) came up to us and demanded his hot sauce back. This was his right, but it felt very rude and when combined with the mediocre food, it led up to a bad experience. I will actively avoid ordering from them in the future.

Found this little gem of a food truck outside of Holy Mountain Brewery. We had the pork sliders, shrimp bowl with grits and cup of clam chowder. I highly recommend stopping and enjoying the yumminess!!!

These guys come to my office building weekly and honestly, I look forward to the days that they do. I’ve worked my way ½ way through the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet! Highly recommend starting with their Shrimp and Grits first, then Adobo if you come back. Their light, buttery grits compliment their protein selection perfectly. Mike, the owner, is a super down to Earth guy too. Definitely give these guys a try if they’re in your neighborhood!

This truck was parked in my office park today. I got their special — shrimp & grits with bacon, mushrooms, and green onions — super delicious. As another reviewer said, I’m also not sure what«down home» grits are supposed to taste like, but these were amazing! I’d like to see slightly larger portions, but other than that, highly recommend.

Kiss My Grits was parked at my place of work today in Ballard, and knowing that they served one of my favorite meals that I had when I was in New Orleans(shrimp & grits), I had to go down and pay them a visit. Limited menu, but an enticing one at that. I obviously ordered the shrimp & grits — a generous bowl of white buttery grits with 7 or 8 shrimp in a bacon green onion sauce… or maybe it was bacon fat. It was good. It wasn’t as good as I recall in NOLA — the one I had there was way more ‘saucy’, but it is still good. Pricetag was $ 9 — can’t decide if that’s a steal or not, but I enjoyed it.

I have to say, I recall the first time I ever saw grits — they were at a McDonald’s breakfast buffet in Alexandria, Virginia and they looked as unappetizing as could be… fast forward to the weekly visits to Where Ya At Matt and their cheesy Shrimp and Grits were quite tasty but also very greasy. I tried Kiss My Grits at the same spot, although their appearance was part of the Bellevue Farmer’s Market. The Grits were not cheesy and looked like a plain jane congee, but man was it flavourful! Everything lit up and was well complimented by the bacon and shrimp toppings(I requested no mushrooms). Can’t help but say that these are the best grits ever. Good job, chef!

Mmmm. .. I’m no expert on shrimp and grits so I can’t really say how authentic it tastes but I will say that IT. TASTES. GOOD! The portion size is a bit small for $ 9 but the flavor does pack a punch. I got the traditional shrimp and grits with bacon, mushroom, and green onions — I just wished the portions were bigger!

KMG. This spot is legit. We’ve been to a couple of their pop ups at Bloom in Ballard and now caught them at some farmers markets — Mercer Island, Columbia city. Some of the best grits I’ve ever had and really inventive, delicious seafood creations. Favorites have to be the hoppin’ johns and the smoked salmon with grits. This is definitely a place to watch. Freakin yum!

Went to this place at the Mercer Island farmers market. They were almost out of shrimp and grits but had a few left so I had to get it. 5 Stars!!! This was so damn good! It was $ 9 of complete happiness! Bacon, shrimp, green onions, grits with a dash of Louisiana hot sauce. Good stuff!!! I will have to get more.

This place is SOOOO good. As a Georgia native who also focuses my diet around a lot of seafood, this is pretty much the BEST! Excellent flavors with an elevated imagining of classic soul food. A better version of home. I honestly can’t say enough good things.
