A hidden gem in Belltown! I thankfully discovered this bakery just a couple weeks after I moved into an apartment a few blocks away, and now am a regular on Saturday mornings. Their croissants are incredible(I’m boring and usually stick to the plain ones)!! This place is the real deal, very authentic, with so many delicious pastries and breads to choose from. I did try their coffee once and really didn’t like it — very bitter & acidic — but this place still deserves 5 stars for the food.

Second time being here, and I am sure it will be many times more. Super friendly staff and gorgeous French pastry make every visit worth it. Have to go for every pastry lover coming to Seattle.

The ambience is Divine. As soon as you step in the door you’re enveloped by the heavenly scent of freshly baked pastries. The presentation is spectacular, but none of this compares to how tasty the food is. Literally everything I have tried here is as good as the boulangeries from my jaunts to Paris. Can’t come often enough!(Also for my gluten intolerant homegirls out there, if you’re lucky and she has the giant macaroons filled with pastry cream and raspberries, don’t stop, don’t think, just GETTHEM. You’ll thank me later.)

I’ve been craving for well made French pastries ever since I visited France! The bakery owner is a French lady, she’s super nice and helpful when I was asking her about the flavors. Their pastries are very very French like. Recommend: croissants(plain, chocolate, marionberry) — SUPERDELICIOUS! Tip: ask them to heat it up, it would make it more crispy and tasty! I wouldn’t recommend the coffee tho. Even though it’s Viktoria, the coffee is a bit bitter. Unless you just want the daily dosage of caffeine, there are better options. Love the owner, love the pastries! I’ve never sat down in the coffee shop, but the chairs seems stiff. Would recommend for daily breakfast before work or morning time with your daily newspaper. But if you’re looking for a place to have a great brunch with friends, maybe try somewhere else. Decorations are very simple and French like.

I used to really enjoy the pastries here, they are really good and would come here about 4 times a month and drop anywhere from $ 10-$ 35 each time. The savory items like the soup, sandwiches and quiche are just ok, not amazing. However, the service from the owner and some staff is very ugly. Because of this I will never come back here. This over-smoked French baker lady with cigarette skin and a hoarse voice has horrible customer service values and promotes them within her staff. There is a girl here named Catherina who acted very nasty as soon as I came into the shop with my boyfriend one day. She had a horrible attitude when we ordered(which we ignored) and later when I asked her for a clean spoon because the initial one was dirty she completely ignored my «thank you». Ok whaterver, so later, I asked for a to-go-box and said nothing after she handed it to me, she shot back a «YOUR’REWELCOME!». At that point, I snapped, and asked to speak to the owner. Catterina marched to the kitchen and told her version of the story to the owner. When the owner came out, she completely defended this rude employee and said we were the ones who were not being polite. Uh, excuse me? We tried to be polite, the employee was the one who was rude. I am shocked at this behavior, after interacting with the owner, we were speechless. How could someone treat their business this way and be so rude and condescending to customers? In the United States, good service is valued slightly more than good product.

There are very few places in Pike place market where you can sit and eat. This place is one of them. We had cappuccino and spinach tart. They were very good and customer service was great. When we asked if they could hear our coffee, they gave us a new one.

Update: had my chicken baguette sandwich after the hike, and it hit the spot. Baguette was nice and crunchy, right amount of dijon, grilled chicken breast, exactly what i’d expect from a French bakery. Also tried their croissant — THIS is what a croissant is supposed to taste and feel like when you rip it apart and crumbles fall all over. Right amount of flakiness, airiness, and melt-in-your-mouth butteriness. GREATJOB! Regarding the raison pastry: perfect as well. Perfect amount of sweet(moderate), butter, raisins and flakiness. Went back today to grab another kouign-amman for myself and for my husband. Bought a Parisian ham and cheese sandwich for the plane ride — I was told it is made with parisian ham, i simply had to try it(pretty sure it will be so much better than the airport options!)

Breaking down each of the stars… + 1 star — [adorable ambience] I was running through Belltown with my woe, and our eyes happened upon this small, French-looking café. One step inside instantly transports you to Europe, with the quaint decorations, red-walled interior, and numerous pastries lining the shelves. + 1 star — [service] Service is extremely friendly; I believe everyone I saw that day was French, and they would speak in French to several patrons. Very responsive to questions you have regarding the menu. + 1 star — [quiche] I forget what exactly this quiche was made of — I recall it having asparagus, but just remember that it was delightful and incredibly fluffy. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t even fancy quiches. + 1 star — [apple brioche] Sweet, but not overly so; custard-y, soft, warm. I’d definitely return for this. + 1 star — [outlets!] You can definitely get some work done here, as there are a decent number of electrical outlets lining the walls. All in all, perfect place to catch up with a friend over coffee and pastries. I visited on a Saturday afternoon, when lines were not too long; however, I can see this place getting quite crowded on weekdays, so come during an off-hour!

Wow such a heavenly croissant! Stopped by here for a quick pick me up and was not disappointed. Very cute little pastry shop. At 4pm it was pretty empty so tons of seating. They also have plugs if you wanted to do some work here.

The food here doesn’t just look good, but it tastes even better. Their crème brule was the best I’ve had in a while! Felt like a kid in a candy store.

It’s like you got transported to Paris! The croissant had layers for days and was heavenly buttery. The French bread for the sandwiches wasn’t too hard as some French bread can become. The lady running the counter spoke to numerous guests in French adding to the authentic feel of the bakery. Also, super cute décor and ambiance. A must try.

I don’t even know where to start on the food here — it’s all good. Pastries, sandwiches, baguettes, you name it and I’ve probably had it and loved it. It can get a bit crowded/slow during lunch rush so be patient if you go around then, but we’re talking some real delicious french food of all types, so worth the wait unless you’re really in a rush.

This place is soooooooo good. I love the sweet owner! The Marion berry croissants are actually to die for. The quiche, sandwiches and coffee are also amazing! And don’t forget to take a baguette home. They do a different one everyday. Neighborhood favorite!

Nice little café to kill some time and enjoy the tasty treats. The cappuccino and latte were what you would expect from any other coffee, but the pastries were both very tasty. Ordered a baked apple thing(couldn’t understand the name) but brioche was involved and it basically tasted like apple French toast — which is a good thing. Also tried the cream cheese croissant, because I love cream cheese. Probably could have used a little more cream cheese, but I appreciated the light, airiness to it and I probably didn’t need all that cream cheese anyway. A very nice little stop if you’re trying to kill some time in Belltown.

Aaaah… bonjour a Paris! My heart belongs to one of the greatest cities in the world(no sorry, it’s not Seattle ;)): PARIS. I love France and french food and as americans seem to be unable to produce bread and baked goods you need your teeth for I’m craving for a good bread from time to time. And as I’m wandering around I couldn’t believe my eyes: a french bakery. Très cool je veux dire! So I stepped inside and the smell of fresh Baguette and other lovely delights welcomed me, very heartwarming. The design is just lovely, bright colors, lots of space, everything is presented in a nice way and the smell is so mouth watering. I ordered a Baguette Parisienne and Mini Pain au Chocolat; and a nice add: you can order in french as there are real french people! Closing your eyes and you could imagine to be in a bakery in France…(insert daydreams about france, paris, cheese, wine and other delicious french things here). I am happy to have this bakery in my neighborhood and will revisit soon!

Paper in Cake :( I ordered a b’day cake for my wife on 18th September. I got the cake on 19th as promised on time. Cake was really good in taste. However to my embarrassment we found a big piece of paper inside the cake. It really spoiled the whole experience and made me feel bad about the cake I just ate.

What are beach bod goals when you can have the mille feuille at La Parisienne? Each layer of puff pastry was perfection, and the pastry cream is a nice delicious custard that complimented the sugar that’s been dusted on the top layer of the mille feuille. La Parisienne croissant was also the best chocolate croissant I’ve had — light(despite actually being a gazillion calories) and not overwhelmed by the chocolate within. The cappuccino also went well with the sweets, and the décor is classy. Service could be a little better(i.e. tables could be cleaned faster so you can sit down and enjoy your mille feuille) but who cares when the desserts here are this perfect?

Wonderful French café in Belltown chock full of delicious pastries and baguettes! I have a feeling everything here is going to be delicious. * PAINAUCHOCOLATE($ 2.15) — 4.5STARS: One of the better chocolate croissants I’ve had, and I’ve had alot. The croissant is really buttery, and yet the outside layers are light and crunchy. I had it toasted for a minute and the chocolate inside was perfectly melty. I must say I still think Le Marais in SF has a better traditional croissant(which this falls under the category of), but this is still excellent. Note they sell mini plain and chocolate croissants near the register! * CHAUSSONAUXPOMMES($ 3.15) — 3.5STARS Not bad but was expecting a lot more. The filling reminded me of applesauce. * BREAKFASTSANDWICH($ 4.95) — 3STARS Pretty mediocre baguette breakfast sandwich. Pane Pane is far superior. * CAPPUCCINO — 2.5STARS Overfoamed cappuccino using Café Darte beans, tasted pretty mediocre.

Amazing little French bakery tucked inside the Centennial Tower with a great selection of French viennoiseries, sweets, and goods. My personal favorites are the kougin amann and chausson aux pommes. The kougin amanns have a crunchy exterior shell from the caramelized sugar and salt enclosing the sandwiched layers of butter and dough inside giving this pastry a chewy yet fluffy texture in the middle. My other go to pastry is the chausson aux pommes a flakey pastry crust exterior filled with an apple sauce filling, the French cousin to the apple turnover. It makes a great breakfast or mid-afternoon snack. If you’re looking for something sweet, La Parisienne makes large macarons with fresh raspberries and patisserie cream tucked inside the shells and aged for a day to have that signature crunch and chew to them. They also have a fair selection of sandwiches and salads here too. For drinks they offer fresh squeezed orange juice or coffee from Café D’arte which is a nice break from Starbucks or Uptown. The best time to visit this bakery is earlier in the day around 9:30am-11:30am after the breakfast morning traffic and before lunch. The pastry shelf is usually empty by 2:00pm. The employees are really friendly, taking time to ask you about your day while grabbing your pastries. However, this bakery has notoriously slow service sometimes taking 5 – 10 minutes to purchase a pastry when there’s only one person ahead of you.
