Having explored a fair amount of Thai restaurants in the city, Mae Ploy is near the top of my list. It’s not the most«gourmet» restaurant around, so don’t expect to get blown away by exotic tastes and an adventurous approach, but rather you’ll be met, time and time again, with consistently high-quality pad thai, friendly service with a smile, and a full stomach. My girlfriend and I come here to eat at least once or twice a month, sometimes more, and the waitress has memorized our order down the spiciness we prefer. Calling our orders ahead of time makes things a little faster for us if we’re in a rush, and we’ve never had any complaints or problems. If you can look past the fairly basic layout of the restaurant, the many pictures of their dishes hanging on the wall(very much like a cheap Chinese take-out place would feature) and the signs begging the local kids from Ballard High School to keep outside food and drink away, you’re in for one heck of hidden gem. I could not recommend this place enough.

After waiting for 40min.(Which is fine), we got the wrong order. Trying to communicate with them over the phone has been very hectic bc it took 4 trials for them to understand English. Then they said they will deliver again. Does that mean we wait another 40min? Very frustrating ESP when you are hungry. I will not order from them again bc I am hangry & when I’m hangry it’s not cute. Sigh. I just want to eat.

Ordered delivery Saturday night picked the Chicken Satay, Chicken Pad Krapraw, Red Curry Beef and rice all 3 star. It disappeared so fast I didn’t even get a chance to take a photo! It arrived early and still hot, will be enjoying this place again!!, Thanks.

This is my go-to place for Thai delivery because I think it may be the only one that delivers in my area. I’m typically happy with their pad thai — it’s enough to satisfy my thai food cravings with plenty for lunch the next day. Haven’t tried much of the rest of their menu but will gladly work on that.

A-OK. I’ve come here a couple of times for take out, and the fare is typical of what you’ll find at most Thai restaurants in and around Seattle. The upside is food is always prepared quickly, and the people working are sweet and kind. That little parking lot out front though can be hairy to navigate though, as a heads up.

Hit or miss here. A few decent experiences, but mostly mediocre food. But it’s close, so we go. After a recent experience with below average food, and very bad customer service, we will not be returning. Too many other wonderful Thai restaurants in the neighborhood.

This place is convenient and fast for delivery which is a plus. The food is not as flavorful as Thai I’m used to. The Tom kha soup came with tomatoes and no delicious lemongrass and bay leaf flavors sadly. The curry was also on the sweet side and mostly sauce. The food is not bad but also not amazing. I would recommend ordering a spice level up, I got medium but couldn’t taste any real spice. I would order again for delivery but probably stick to more American Thai dishes because that seems to be what they’re best at.

I just got beef Pad Khee Mao for lunch and it was tasty, perfect 2 stars with tender beef crunchy vegies and great flavor. The lunch size was perfect as well. Thanks to the very nice lady in the front as well. I will be back for more.

I am giving 2 stars only because I didn’t actually get to eat my order, and because accidents happen. Being in the service industry for 13 years now, I do exercise patience and benefit of the doubt. That being said– I ordered delivery and after an hour went by, map showing it not even close to me yet– I put in a status check. Then the driver finally called saying he was at ____an address just 3 digits from mine. Yet standing on my porch there was no one in sight. As he kept asking what streets I’m between, continuing to say he was at my building(I LIVEIN A HOUSE) I waited out there. Trying to keep my cool. But the language barrier and his lack of understanding/wanting to admit he’s wrong, that he was indeed not near me was beyond frustrating. I could hear his feet shuffling on pavement, asking what color my house is. I had to keep telling him, You are literally not on my street. I can see the entire street. After two of these calls, and an hour ½ total, I cancelled my order and Eat24 reimbursed AND gave me coupon codes. She said the restaurant stated a much different address but she herself could see I gave the correct one from the get-go. Really really frustrating. I can’t help someone get to me if stating my cross streets, describing the house and having the only white fence on the block, doesn’t help. I’m now of course ordering pizza. Because this exact situation happened last time I ordered Thai. Different establishment.

I want to like this place more it deserves. Its the Thai equivalent of Dominos in the pizza world. The food is always okay at best. I’ve had many dishes and am quite often underwhelmed. The pineapple rice is just fried rice with copious amounts of curry powder. The phad thai, which is usually a Thai staple, has almost never had anything other than frozen peas and carrots and a sprinkle of fresh sprouts and/or onions. The most redeeming quality is that they deliver, which is why I’ve returned. If you dine in, their Thai iced coffee is tasty though!

Charming eccentric atmosphere and delicious food. I ordered the Thai Basel dish and Green Papaya Salad, 3 stars for spice, both were accurately seasoned. The service was quick and friendly. I will certainly visit again.

Not bad Thai food and really convenient. For our area, there are not many Thai places in reach, especially ones that deliver. Though they said about an hour wait time, we received it within about 30 minutes. The food was pretty good. I had the panang curry with vegetables and it was delicious. I asked for it to be mild and although it was slightly spicy, it was curry so it was perfect. My boyfriend got the oyster delight which was a bit flavorless, but I think it was just fine. We also got fried tofu and a side of peanut sauce, both excellent and exactly how I expected them. I would definitely go back, pretty good for the price and access!

Love love love this joint. It’s actually disappointing that the rating shows so low. The absolute best cucumber salad I’ve ever had. I wanna think this place is legit and so authentic that they don’t get the concept of «not spicy,» so be warned it’s spicy even when you ask for no spicy. It’s so freaking tasty though that I will just sweat and cry through it. The eat24 app menu lists favorites and none of them have disappointed. Current favorites are the panang curry. Make sure you order rice to go with your food.

Ordered takeout dinner. Service was pretty prompt and overall food was good. It wasn’t the BEST thai I’ve had in Seattle, but good for the location and price. Their lunches look awesome and huge for the price!

This is the best Thai food place in the area. Their veggie dishes are most excellent. My wife is smitten by their vegan pad thai, while my kids alove the tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce. We’e always gotten take out or delivery(prompt every time), so the atmosphere is a little difficult to judge. At any rate, I would say that they have good, filling food that tastes good as well!

Just an ok first experience. Have been meaning to stop in here for Thai for a few months, stopped in tonight and decided to get Tofu fresh rolls, Larb Gai, and tofu ginger dish To go. Spice is good for 3⁄5 stars. Veggies seem fresh and good ginger flavor. The chicken in my Larb tastes old(that strong chicken flavor :/) and the fresh rolls were mostly iceberg lettuce. They also asked me if I wanted brown or white rice with my ginger dish, I chose brown and they charged me $ 6! I was a little surprised, I asked them why, she says its $ 4 and an extra $ 2 for two people, they were awkward after that.

Decided on a whim to get Thai on the way home from errand running. Stopped in and ordered three appetizers, cucumber salad, pad thai and lemongrass chicken. Told it would be 25 minutes. 55 minutes later got the order and headed for home. The cucumber salad was best dish and salad rolls were good too. But biggest bummer was that the Lemongrass chicken, when opened was like a sad half order of beef with carrots and broccoli. It was too far to go back and so instead I figure there are enough Thai places in Seattle I will try them and let this place go.

My favorite Thai I’ve found in seattle. They have great spice & consistent levels. I just call it in when I leave work and it’s ready when I stop in. The woman working is so sweet and accommodating as well.
