We love Megumi preschool!!! Our daughter has been here for 2years. All teachers are so kind and nice. We truly feel like this school is very warm and welcoming!! They keep this school very clean and organized. Our daughter speaks Japanese so well, thanks to this school! We definitely recommend this school.

My daughter has been attending Megumi pre-school for almost a year and it’s been a great experience. All the teachers provide the care and attention that the kids deserve and need, and most importantly for me, she is exposed to the Japanese language all day while I’m at work.

After posting this review(posted in April 2015 complaining about not hearing back about a spot from December 2014), Megumi did get back to us, in May, in saying that our son was now 3rd on the list. We’re happy with the preschool we ultimately found for our son, but we did eventually hear from Megumi and they asked me to update this review, which is fair.

My two boys went to Megumi Pre-School and graduated from Megumi. We were there total 9 years attending as a full time. Teachers are so friendly and giving great care. We liked getting report everyday which covers their daily schedule and how much they ate for lunch and snacks. The lunch is impressive. We can not find anyother place for home made warm lunch for that price.

At first look, this place seemed nice. And in Seattle, it was the only place we had been able to find that had immediate availability and was somewhat affordable. We had our son there just before he was 2 years old. He stayed there for 2 – 3 times a week for about a year and a half. At the time we sent him, we didn’t know that he had a speech delay or other social delays. That being said, he did not do well there and the staff there was not good at assisting him in any way. There was one exception, one of his first teachers was very nice, patient, and actually caring. The rest ended up treating our son as an inconvenience. Due our son’s speech delay, he started biting, and we worked really hard to stop this, but the staff was unable to follow the course of actions we would discuss and they would just put him in the office by himself or sometimes with one other boy and train toys. So this basically taught him that by biting, he was going to be allowed to play with the toys he wanted and not have to share; so of course the biting didn’t get better. We had several meetings with them and what to do and how we could help and it really amounted to nothing because they weren’t able or willing to follow through. Also several times I would pick him up and his diaper would be soaked so I would have to change him before leaving. More than once, he was so wet that his pants would be soaked and a couple times it included his shoes! We ended up having to pay to have one person dedicated to watch him and he still had a some incidents and more than once I would see that person playing with other kids when I went to pick him up. Plus, if your kid bites or pinches or hits another kid, they tell you the name and expect you to call the parents to apologize; they give you the parents phone number and they also tell the parent who did what to their kid. This shows that most of their staff are not actual teachers or have any kind of real training. They are just babysitting. Our son attended Megumi in 2009 so maybe it is better now, but I would not recommend this place to anyone; especially if your child has any kind of delay or just doesn’t always want to do things perfectly. I could keep going, but I think it’s pretty clear that this was not a good place for us.
