The best thing about this place is their service. Kyo was awesome, but unfortunately the sushi is not good. the fish isn’t fresh, so if you’re craving sushi and hit this spot in a pinch, try something fried.

I’m glad Roni introduced me to Mio Sushi. When it comes to lunch in SLU, I generally default to Portage Bay or the food trucks, because most other sit-down options in the area tend to be underwhelming, overpriced or both. Mio has a wide variety of specialty sushi rolls and sashimi. They also have chirashi, teriyaki, udon and rice bowls. I was really impressed with the quality of the food and how quick we got seated during the busy lunch hours(it was bar seating so I guess coming a bit early next time wouldn’t hurt). Service was prompt and courteous, and my bento lunch was very satisfying. The bento lunch is a great deal as you get to choose from a variety of options. I opted for salmon teriyaki and spicy chicken for my bento, and they were both delicious. I had a decent sized piece of salmon that was very well cooked and well marinated, and the spicy chicken was very good, flavorful, and mostly white meat chicken(YAY!). There was more onions than I would’ve liked in the spicy chicken, but eh, it was still very good and I would order it again. For the price and location, I think it’s a steal and if it was closer to me(hint hint, I live in Capitol Hill, Mio!), I would get the bento lunch more often.

I like the Mio Sushi in Green Lake. It’s different from this one. More subdued. This was about my fourth time here and I still love the food, so if you want great Japanese, this is your place. A few caveats. First, too crowded. Every time I have lunch there I’m two feet away from a couple of Amazon drones(the human ones, not the remote-controlled flying ones) talking operational procedures or content acquisition. Damn, boys, talk about life or books or philosophy or something. You might even get a girlfriend. Second, music. I will, until the end of my Unilocal account, decry the use of shitty pop music in restaurants. Here I am, trying to enjoy my miso salmon and I’ve got Maroon 5 belching in my ear. Appetite kill successful. RESTAURANTSDON’T NEEDLOUDMUSICTOMAKEWHATTHEYTHINKIS A BETTERDININGEXPERIENCE. It doesn’t. It sucks. Music is a personal thing that should stay personal. If you want to share music with likeminded people, go to a concert! Otherwise, no matter how great you think it is, someone is going to hate your music. SOTURNTHATSHITOFF. Third. TV. Why? It’s not a sports bar. Get rid of it. Finally, they stopped offering the veggie gyoza with their bento box. That was what was unique. They weren’t trying to shove meat down your throat. Some people are more health conscious. Or just… conscious. And the veggie gyoza tasted better. Why? Can’t be cheaper! Again, the food is still great. So go for that if you can stand the other things. It’s my last time there. Sayonara.

Mio is a pretty good restaurant. The prices are normal for something in SLU. They are typically very friendly. One thing about this restaurant is that it is rather popular during lunch, so that is the time that I would not go there. Their rolls are very high quality. Their hot dishes are OK. However, make sure you try their Sushiza at least once. Their Tempura Ice Cream is very very good, and can serve at least two.

TL;DR: Probably won’t go back there, normal price not-so-good food & service. The price is normal for sushi in Seattle and the food is a little below okay, which is not a good combination. Went there for lunch(take out), ordered two very basic rolls and a miso soup, around $ 16. They forgot my soup when it was handed to me, I had to ask for the soup. The sushi rice was on the looser side. raw fish to other ingredients ratio was on the lower side.

Me and a coworker walked in for lunch to order something to go. We weren’t greeted and we waited about 5 minutes… awkwardly standing there and watching everyone else stuff their faces. We ended up walking up to the counter and flagging someone down so we could place an order. I ordered the sashimi combo to go… and I have to say that I’m not at all satisfied with the food. Some of the fish tasted like it was frozen before. So I don’t think it was fresh. Plus, I spent 16 dollars for 8 pieces of probably-previously-frozen fish that took someone all of 2 minutes to cut up and place into a box. Not coming back.

Extensive list if sushi and rolls. Opted for a ramen soup, which did the job. The baked green mussels were a little chewy but overall I like the place. Service was good.

Price is reasonable! Customer service is all right! The food is very so-so! It is Korean owned Japanese restaurant. The Japanese food taste is kind of off.

Great service and awesome food. Mio sushi never failed me and this place was never no differnet. Maybe better. Love their interior designs! Will definitely be back for more. Right now they are on event. Until August 11th, if you get california roll, you get one spicy fried california roll for free! Better be there before its too late folks.

Disclaimer: We went during lunch. We waited probably an hour to get our food, which we ordered for take-away. They had one waitress for the entire floor, who was sweating from just trying to keep up with everything. Just watching the discomfort in that poor woman’s smile was extremely off-putting, and I would have left the restaurant unless I’d already ordered. The food was fine, which is a shame because of how poorly the establishment is being managed from an operational standpoint. I’ll probably never be back.

Food is okay, price is okay and location is great. However, they take FOREVER to give your food. The place was busy, so I was expecting to wait like 15 – 20 minutes. It turns out that I waited no less than 45 minutes(yes, forty five). I was not the only one. There was an Amazon guy complaining that he was just ordering a take-out bento box and that he was already late for a meeting. Food was okay for the price: $ 11.50 after tax for the lunch special. I ordered a bento box with Salmon and Tofu. Well, I asked whether the tofu was grilled or fried. He said grilled(my preference) so I ordered. Well, it was fried. :( I’d give them a second chance because I know that sometimes unpredictable stuff happen, but by reading other reviews it seems that this is quite frequent.

A conveniently located sushi restaurant near the Amazon Corporate campus, Mio certainly draws a large lunchtime crowd on a typical weekday. The sushi is fine(for lunch), however the service is typically slow and the restaurant crowded. When I’ve visited for lunch, I’ve had to ask for my soda(soy sauce, napkin, chopsticks, you name it) several times from several different staff before walking up to the counter to get it myself. It also takes kind of a while for food to be brought out. I’ve had several of the rolls, but typically opt for the Beauty & The Beast or the Crunch. The price is right at $ 10 or under for most rolls, but again food quality is just«fine». I would compare to sushi that you could pick up from QFC or Lunds. Overall, an average-at-best lunchtime spot that I visit out of convenience more than anything else.

WHYOHWHY would ANYONE ever eat here? I made the mistake once too. I stepped in for lunch one day, and was halted by a sign that assured me that the hostess would show me to my table. After standing patiently for a few minutes, the hostess finally finished texting from her phone and led me to my table. But it only got worse from here. My seat was super uncomfortable, and my butt hurt by the time I left the restaurant. There were at least two flies buzzing around my table. A small bowl the waitress furnishes wasn’t even entirely clean, complete with sauce stains on the side and inside. Then my sushi arrived. Rice was unseasoned and hard. Fish was stale and desiccated. Supermarket sushi would’ve tasted better. A piece of octopus was the worst — it was hard and chewy as hell. Even the eel was bad — the BBQ sauce’s cloying sweetness overpowering any other flavor I could detect. I also tried a shrimp tempura udon entrée. The udon was standard but the egg that came with it was overcooked and ugly as sin. Shrimp tempura was limping and soggy from soaking in the broth too long. Throughout the meal, I had asked for water to wash down all the crap I was eating, but it never arrived either. In general, a place to avoid unless you are desperate for food. Maybe you were recently released from prison or you don’t care about your own health. Awful.

My boyfriend and I have stopped here a few times for lunch and once for Happy Hour. They get pretty swamped at lunch, but you never have to wait an absurdly long amount of time to get your food. I think the biggest thing they can work on is the friendliness of their wait staff. I know they have a tough job and are running around a lot, but they don’t check on you at all during your meal. It is also a little bit of a hassle to get your check. Their happy hour is AWESOME — great deals! Just wish it ran longer. Overall quality of the sushi is A. Delicious options, always fresh. Price wise it’s reasonable as well. We normally walk out of there after spending ~$ 40 total for two.

Great location. Highly over rated sushi spot. Terrible service when I dined in and that was after a really long wait. Then I tried take out and although they double and triple asked me about the items when ordering on the phone the messed up 3 of 5 rolls. Food made me nauseous on the 3rd piece and I can confidently say I’m never going here again!!!

Recently stopped in for dinner. The location is great. The place is usually busy, as I walk by almost every day. I was greeted quickly and taken to my seat at the bar. The service was good. They had an extensive sushi roll menu, reasonably priced as well as several other items to order. I went with a couple rolls and yellow tail sashimi. The rolls were OK, but the yellow tail was chewy and perhaps not fresh. Overall the food wasn’t great and thus I probably won’t go back.

There are not a ton of sushi options in the SLU area withing walking distance of the Amazon campus. If you are in SLU and craving sushi the place is worth a try — there is definitely better sushi is Seattle. 3 stars max. A vast majority of the rolls are priced in the $ 10 range, but a roll by itself is likely not enough for lunch. I went with the Mt Rainier, Spicy Tuna and Miso soup — the quantity was right, but the quality of food across the dishes was so-so, at $ 20 for lunch, hard to give the place anything above 3 stars. Given the lack of sit down sushi in the neighborhood, the place gets packed — we got here at 1230 and had to wait a good 20 minutes for a table.

Hate to say it but this place has gone downhill, mostly in the service department… which is a shame because it used to be one of our favorite spots for mid-priced decent sushi. When we walked in, the restaurant was only half full and it didn’t appear to be particularly busy. There were two servers running around, but they were preoccupied and, as it turns out, they couldn’t multitask and be detail oriented simultaneously. As we awkwardly stood in the doorway, no one acknowledged us… so eventually a sushi chef asked us if we wanted a table he pointed at. Not his job, but sure we did! We sat down and still, no one acknowledged us or brought us menus. No one even screamed the whole«I’ll be right there» schpiel as they ran by. I almost got up and got the menus myself, but I thought that would be making too much of a statement. Anyhoo, rude! At this point, we were visibly shifting in our seats, mostly from early onset starvation. I actually asked if we should go somewhere else. The reply was that we’re already here, so why not dig ourselves in deeper, right? As we searched frantically for our server, one eventually came over to give us menus. From then on out, the service was quick and our server was very sweet, but our 3 miso soups never came and somehow still ended up on the bill. The sushi quality was still just alright and maybe I haven’t been there in so long my memory of the food was too fond, but honestly, the food wasn’t as good as I remembered. Even the tea tasted a little acidic. The last nail in the coffin for me was that they were also out of uni, which was one of the only reasons why I was there… That and the presumption of reasonably priced sushi which I would have gladly paid more for if there was a shift in service and food quality. When they brought over the small after-dinner thingy, it wasn’t 3 mints or 3 small rice puddings or 3 candies… it was one orange. There were 3 of us, so that was kind of odd. We got a complimentary avocado roll, which was nice, but not enough to salvage all the events leading up to the roll. Alas!

Came here for the chirashi. The seared albacore was a bit tough… Brought my complaints up with the sushi chef and he blamed it on the back kitchen chef. Situation was not remedied. Good points: Service was quick! Beautiful location. I’d totally give this place a second try… Lunch specials seem like a great deal!!!
