This is the best sushi on the hill. Creative rolls, fresh fish and good service.

When: Several times Food: My wife and I love this place. We usually start off with the deep fried calamari appetizer and then share(rainbow, spicy tuna, and ‘crunch?’) rolls. The sushi has always been fresh when we have dined and it is WAY better than Octo Sushi which is on 12th. Service: Just AWESOME. The nicest couple on the planet own this place. This was one of the first places we went to when we moved to Seattle and the lady would give us complimentary appetizers of tofu/calamari. Very nice lady to talk to as well. The sushi chef always greets upon entering and exiting the establishment as well. 5⁄5 Ambience: The restaurant is average inside but it’s nice to get a table by the window and just people watch(it is capitol hill). Would recommend Oasis to anyone. Perhaps not NOBU but very good.

Food was only worth 3 stars, but the super nice couple that run it give it a bonus! Sushi was good, but only just so. Still, more than enough to eat at a decent price, I’m sure I will return the next time I’m walking home from school and need sushi!

The bubble tea here is pretty good as well as their sliders and appetizers. I’ve had the fries, clam strips and chicken strips as well as a variety of their teas and smoothies. They are all pretty descent although a bit pricy. They need to learn to be more friendly as well but that aside it’s a pretty good experience. Big bonus is that they are open late!

maybe more 2.5 stars I give them an extra ½ star for the very nice folks who work there. Located in a very desirable location of Cap Hill just south of Cal Anderson Park, this place should be packing it in. The intererior is pretty comfy with a mix of booths and tables. The menu has sushi, ramen, udon, and some korean things like bi bim bab. I got the chicken karaage, the pork ramen and a capitol hill roll(spicy tuna w/unagi and avocado). The karaage was kind of spongy and not very flavorful. There was a side of that japanese brown bbq-like sauce used on takoyaki which helped with the flavor. The roll was decent and edible. The pork ramen was okay and the serving seemed a little on the light side. Most days they are open till 10−1030pm weekedays, weekends 11−1130pm depending on how busy it gets. Since most folks gave this place a 1 or a 2, I don’t mind rounding up!

for these prices, and less than subpar sushi, it’s best to check out a dollar a plate sushi joint like Genki sushi. and with I heart wasabi on broadway, it’s easy to forget about the oasis café. the server is nice, but being a nice person no longer cuts it. ask people who knew Ted Bundy. nice guy, funny but A SERIALKILLER. my salmon roll was slightly brown, which surprised the hell out of me. serving that is not a good idea. and eating it seemed less so, so i decided to try it. it was the first time i had salmon that never tasted like salmon. it tasted like rubbery dried glue. like the stuff that you watch other kids eat when you were a kid. remember those gross kids that ate everything? scabs, dirt, glue. those kids. they always interrupted the class and asked the teacher, ‘why does my daddy cry when i’m home?‘ anyway, i think the only time i would eat here is when conditions become like the road warrior and a can of alpo is a delicacy, ask Mad Max.

I should have walked the other way when this place was nearly empty during prime-time thursday night on capitol hill. But it was raining, and we were hungry. The sushi was vile. And EXTREMELY over priced.(Bill was about what you’d expect from Shiros, but the sushi was like you’d expect from a grocery store. I left most of it on the plate. The«spicy» crab, and other«spicy» fish, were slathered with inedible orange colored mayo that was not at all spicy. The sashimi was cloudy and fishy. Just save yourself the trouble, and don’t eat here.

This is a Korean-owned sushi place so you should only order Korean items from the menu. I had the beef bi bim bap which I thought was fair for the cost and value it provided(10 dollars after tip).

You know what I miss? The old Oasis from like 3 years ago, when it was a REAL sushi bar, not a cheap sushi and teryaki joint. Totally Bunk.

I was hovering between a high 2 and a low 3 on this one. In fairness, I consider the food here to be better than other 2-star sushi spots in the area, but there were little things that brought this down. After the spectacular Cupcake Royale pre-opening party, my +1 Jeannette and Calvin Y stopped in here for a bite to eat. I just got two orders of sashimi, and Jeannette got one of their maki(I forget the name). I have to say, the prices were a tiny bit steep! I paid $ 11 for one order of tuna sashimi and one order of salmon sashimi — which is average or above for most normal-sized orders of sashimi. But take note! An order of sashimi here only comes with 2 pieces, which makes this twice as expensive as most other places where an order contains 4 – 5 pieces. The fish was good, but not cost-twice-as-much good. The service was pretty polite, but I felt oddly rushed while we were there. The reason it was odd is: We were one of three parties there! The server also did one thing that I really, really hate: She made a comment about food being left on the plate. Acceptable comments here include: «Was the dish OK?» … «Can I get you a box?» … «Did you want to try something else?» But hers was no good: «You still have some left!» Implying that she would not take the plate away, or bring the check, until we cleared our plates. Thankfully, I can always stomach a couple more pieces of maki. If I happen to end up back here, I’ll probably stick with something simple and inexpensive.

There’s nothing too spectacular about Oasis Café. It’s location makes it a very convenient walk from Seattle University, so if you’re around that campus, this is a good place for a decent lunch or dinner. The service here was polite and respectable, and the food was on the better-end of sushi. I had the spicy yellow-tail roll which was very good. Their Alaskan roll is interesting as it includes green onions, something I’d never seen in an Alaskan roll before. Whether or not I liked it, I’m still deciding(the onion seemed to distract too much from the other flavors in the roll). I did feel that the sushi bordered on the pricier edge, especially the more«out-there» dishes(I feel like $ 5.99 for 6 pieces of sushi is acceptable, but $ 8.99 is a little bit much). This is definitely not a place for someone on a budget. A friend ordered the chicken yakisoba, which I sampled, and was delighted with. A very nice rendition of that dish. If you’re not a fun of sushi(she wasn’t), then I’d recommend that, or some of their other noodle entrées. This was a nice place, bordering on the smaller side, with a very quiet atmosphere. I’d imagine this would make for a nice place to grab some lunch while doing some studying or catching up on some work out of the office.

I made it a point to write this review soon after eating here because it was otherwise at extreme risk of being forgotten. Totally forgettable place with decent foot, decent décor, and a polite server that brought me a fork after I said I didn’t need one because I’m white apparently. At least the katsudon was ok. I recommend going here if you’re unbearably hungry and walk by it.

«Average neighborhood sushi joint» Oasis is a sushi joint that offers just OK sushi. Not much to rave about, not much to complain about. The menu has some interesting rolls and the entrée items are decent. There are better sushi restaurants around, but if you don’t want to travel or go searching for another sushi restaurant, Oasis will serve you decent food for a decent price. I don’t make it a point to eat here, but when I don’t want to spend brain power thinking about where to eat and I’m close by, and I have a craving for sushi, Oasis is usually my choice.

Nothing fancy about this place tucked along Pike just east of Broadway. It’s food is decent and the quality is good. You get very good sized portions for what you pay for and the service has always been really good there. Great place to go for lunch or grab a simple and casual dinner. It’s a refreshing place to check out if you are used to all the contemporary or trendy places on the hill!

I come from the land of delicious sushi and so far, I have not been wowed at the selection in Seattle. This restaurant is unassuming and in my ‘hood and the people who work there are attentive and sweet. I like it because it’s never crowded, the unagi melts in my mouth and I can walk there. Is it the best sushi ever? No. But it’s fresh and the service is great and you will not have to wait.

I think decent plus describes their sushi. I went in for lunch takeout and got a sushi combo. Fish was fresh and melted in your mouth. Didn’t make me say«ohhh my,» but it was good. I liked the interior; very neat, simple, and inviting. The staff was pleasant as well. I think it deserves far better than the 1 – 2 stars it’s gotten here, but that’s just me

My coworkers and I like Oasis before the change. I had the Mongolian beef twice and thought it was mighty tasty. It came with cute little cake things and miso soup. They had a seaweed salad that my vegetarian coworker liked. Sadly for Oasis they changed. Their menus are now weirdly tacky and the soda by the bottle or can is strange. I usually have a policy of boycotting restaurants with a no soda refill policy. They got rid of the seaweed salad and several of the vegetarian sushi items(vegetarian sushi, I don’t get it). The Mongolian beef was good, but different and the owner/manager/whatever came out to discover that about ½ the tables didn’t have their food yet. They also no longer do the free green tea ice cream they had by the door.(Yes another odd thing to begin with but it was a nice touch). Sadly, Oasis too has joined the boycott list.

Since Oasis is across the street from our house, we were really hoping for a winner here… But, sadly, that hasn’t been the case. Their lunch prices are right on, but the lunch food is mediocre at best… Most of it tastes like frozen dinner Magic Dragon garbage. Dinner is better, but not worth the price. We’ve had a couple of really good dinners there, but also a couple of really terrible ones… And they charge far too much to be hit and miss… All in all, skip it and walk the block and a half to Ballet. UPDATE: It looks like some changes have happened at Oasis, yet I’m unsure if they’re changes for the better or just changes for the sake of changing… They kept the fancy-shmancy décor but then put really ugly orange«TERIYAKI!» signs all over the windows… They also redid the menu, and it looks like they’re trying to make it an upscale teriyaki joint. I’m not so sure that’s gonna work out for them, and I’m not so sure I wanna find out… It’s some freaky parallel universe in there, however, with pop machines and tacky menus and ugly signage but fancy décor… I don’t get it. I just don’t get it.
