Orange Julius

How I heard of this place: I believe my dad first introduced me to Orange Julius, years ago, when we stopped at a shopping center somewhere in middle America. In my first year of college, having obtained my one and only retail job (for a whole three months!), I would use my break time to enjoy a kids size orange julius and a walk around the mall.
Type of cuisine: Since the early days, the chain has added things like hot dogs, nachos and pitas to the menu, in addition to fruit smoothies. I remember it as a sweet juice joint… but it seems now you can also satiate your hunger.
Ambiance: About as casual as they come. Every time I have seen an Orange Julius it has been in a shopping center or other food court, giving shoppers and families the opportunity to eat what they want, when they want, and how they want.
What I ordered: Three of us were interested in a sweet and fruity beverage to quench our thirst on a warm day at the Seattle Center. We had two Entertainment book coupons: one for two orange julius’ for the price of one, and another for two smoothies for the price of one. I opted for the traditional orange julius. In our trio we also had a 3-​berry blast and a mango passion smoothie.
What I loved: I loved the memories associated with the flavor of the orange julius, which has not changed since I can remember. The sip I sampled of the mango-​passion smoothie was a delicious and thick blend of mango with a hint of passion fruit flavor.
Why I loved it: It gave us the opportunity to enjoy a cold and refreshing beverage while people watching near the fountain at the Seattle Center!
Cost: Average to high ($ 5 per 16oz. smoothie)

What a throwback to my youth. As a small child I remember getting these things when my mom took me to the mall. Didn’t realize they had a «grill» and apparently serve food. Guess they gotta get with the times. Damn tastes exactly like I remember it. 4 stars for nostalgia.

It’s Orange Julius, it’s a wonder what Orange Sherbet and Ice Cream.
Our Information Service team at my old workplace, used to be called Team Julius, and perhaps it was because of the many many drinks we get from them, but their fast service, and consistency is what we expected. It’s exactly what we needed when we were at the Center, during long setup days.

Good olé Orange Julius. I love their consistency, I have drank their delicious icey orangie beverages from coast to coast and they are always equally delicious. Great and refreshing on a hot day or anytime you are craving something somewhat healthy yet still sweet and tasty.
