Pho Quang

I can imagine this is the closest you can get to eating in Vietnam. The food here is excellent, there is a language barrier but its easy enough to order. GF was served something other than what she ordered, but it was something new and tasted great. Maybe the language barrier… Point real good!!!

Inexpensive fantastic fresh Vietnamese food. I love their bun thit nuong cha gio, bun rieu, goi cuon, and banh cuon (I wouldn’t get the banh xeo since it was a bit greasy). That says a lot coming from a gal that grew up in So Cal, home of the largest vietnamese population outside of the country. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because of the shady characters it sometimes attract, which has caused me to get my orders to go nowadays. Hope enough people frequent the place to keep it in business, but not too many since there’s only one cook!

This is a great hole-​in-​the-​wall! It’s small on the inside and the outside makes the inside seem even smaller than how small it seems.
I was greeted by an older man who seemed rather odd but later* he was more pleasant. I sat down on and the red chair is pretty cool and not dingy. The menu is a clean and thoughtful binder. Still unsure, when the waiter returned, I ask for his thoughts and possible recommendations. His english isn’t great, so I kept changing words to see what he’d pick up on.
«Favorite? You. Have. Favorite?»
The beef stew noodle soup was selected. He makes 4 odd spaced-​out trips: 1 for the jala/​lime cup, 1 for the basil/​sprouts, 1 for the water and then 1 for the soup. No big. The soup is great and has good flavor. Only ding is mostly the few random bits of gristle (sp) and fat. Tender beef. They weren’t busy for awhile; 1 couple did come in when I left.
It’s a nice space for what it is; haven’t seen the bathroom. It feels nicely airy because if I didn’t look up, it would feel like skylights let in natural lights when really it’s just your typical flourescent tubes.

The quality of the food was good. The speed was amazingly fast, which makes me wonder how fresh it might be. Otherwise, parking could be an issue. I don’t think the gentleman working the day I went in spoke english, as I asked numerous questions and couldn’t get an answer. Obviously this is in the international district so it’s not a negative point, just something to keep in mind in the event you might have questions about the menu.

The several times I’ve eaten at Phở Quang, I’ve thought of Linus in his pumpkin patch, hoping his was the most sincere of all. That’s how I feel about Phở Quang– Solidly tasty food, in a little hole-​in-​the-​wall nook just overflowing with sincerity. Absurdly cheap and very nice people. Last time, the guy at the counter asked if it was my first time there? He was so happy to know I’d been there before and come back, and thanked me so much for my business. Serving me great food and appreciating my business is a sure recipe for bringing me back!

A yummy little place that deserves a yummy little review: they serve tasty Phở with Brisket and fresh bahn mi on properly crusty french bread.

The times I’ve been there before I’ve seen a younger lady (daughter?) working the front taking orders while the mother cooks in the back. This time it was just the cook/​mother doing everything. When clearly she doesn’t speak a lick of english but understands that you want your Nam Vang to come with the soup and noodles separate you can’t help but get a good fuzzy feeling inside that something magical is going to happen in that kitchen. I surely wasn’t wrong. The food comes out lovely and tasty and I can’t complain about the price. Quite possibly the cheapest vietnamese restaurant in the ID and possibly Seattle. Nothing is more than $ 6.50, even on the «specialty» section of the menu. Go ahead and give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
If you get a chance, pay attention to the cook lady’s face. She has this look on her face that screams «badass kitchen queen of the ID.»
Next time I’m going to try the sandwiches as others have said great things about them apparently.

I love this place. Yes, it’s a hole in the wall. But hey, it has great food and… parking! Yes, it has a parking lot right next door, which is rare in the International District.
One of the best things about Phở Quang is their spring rolls… the best I’ve ever had. They are filled with pork, big shrimp etc and they are very tasty.
The phở is great. I took my parents who tried their sandwiches (can’t remember the vietnamese name.) They are great! and the best thing is that the sandwiches are only $ 3. What a deal.
I will be back.
