A great place to go if you are in the Pill Hill area. A very cute and busy Phở restaurant down the street from Swedish and Virginia Mason Hospitals. If you can’t find a seat, try the spacious and warm dining area upstairs. Tao was working very hard running up and down the stairs making sure everyone had their meal quickly. She also was also refilling beverages AND bussing tables. Very impressive and polite service. I tried the Tofu Vermicelli. Very delish, but the tofu was a bit chewy. and LOTS of noodles. For the price and service, you can’t go wrong. Definitely worth coming back.

this was a good deal for the price. the Phở had nicely spiced broth — the bahn mi was huge & excellent value. the vietnamese iced coffee was just a little too sweet

I’ve lived and worked in this area for 10 years and have never gone in. This week, I thought I’d give it a try. Phở tai for lunch today. The broth should be more flavorful. It’s quite dilute and lacking the richness that usually is present in a beef broth. Also the meat was a bit grey(gross) indicating that it was cut long ago(or old). The restaurant had dirty utensils and overall dirty appearing restaurant. Overall, I’d not go back when there are several other vietnamese options.

Yummy take-out. I’ve never eaten in, always get take-out but not for any reason other than convenience. I most often have the green bean chicken but have also tried other dishes that are tasty. Although not technically on the menu, they’ll always make«orange chicken» for my youngster. Nice staff — the gal who works there is always really friendly, and remembered us after only our first visit.

The phở is good and they’re quick and well priced. Décor is a bit drab but it fits in with the neighborhood.

I frequent this whenever I’m working at Swedish which can be twice or three times a week. They have really decent vermecelli bowls, delicious rice dishes, phở and banhmi’s. The prices are very fair, a banhmi is $ 3.50 which is the going price in Seattle and phở is about $ 7.95 for a reg size which is a little pricey but its really good and not salty at all. The folks that run it are super nice, fast and I feel that you get a lot of food since I usually only eat half of my vermecelli bowls or rice dishes. In fact, my coworkers always place orders here as well if I go to pick up lunch for the day.

Not bad, good broth good portion. The best thing about the phở was that vegetables on the side were really fresh. That was a big good surprise. I would say they can be bit more generous with the meat portion. If I am in the neighborhood I would come back again.

Have been here a couple of times and have decided it is my current go-to Vietnamese craving meal. What to try? The Combination Vermicelli bowl. This is appetizing and satisfying — it comes as a hearty bowl filled with: fried spring rolls, skewered chicken, beef and pork, Cut meatball sausage, shrimp and julienned cucumbers, carrots and daikon — all garnished with cilantro, spring onion and basil. The noodles were cooked nicely and wasn’t clumpy. What makes this bowl delicious is the fish sauce that came with it. It was flavored delicately, not overpowering as some, and with just a little hint of sweetness and pepper chili flakes. The beef phở soup was also delicious. The broth was just right, it wasn’t diluted and seasoned evenly. No need to add salt or pepper! It came with the usual garnishing plate filled with mung bean sprouts, jalapeño slivers, and fresh fragrant basil. This is one of the better phở to be had in Seattle! Finally, the Vietnamese crêpe is also wonderful :-) I remember trying one from SF, and it reminded me of the similar taste. The ginormous crêpe was filled to the brim with bean sprouts, sauteed prawns and I think tofu. The crêpe was crunch and had that fragrant coconut oil and taste. The dipping sauce was just right. I would definitely order this again. PS — Will definitely be back to try the Banh Mi and desserts. The owner and staff were courteous and friendly.

I came in here for lunch on a weekday and was surprised to find it not that busy. I ordered a basic phở ga. The atmosphere was relaxing, and although outside is a busy bus stop, I felt shielded from the noise, which is important when you work on pill hill and just want a quiet lunch. Overall the phở was tasty, and was brought out promptly. There was other items on the menu that looked good as well. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for soup on Madison for a quick lunch.

They have phở. They also have a big menu of other dishes, but I had the phở. It was fine. Not a big selection. The sauces on the table were an odd color — too dark like they were too old — so I avoided those. It was a busy lunch time and they sat me in a corner, got me food, and ignored me. This place is the model of 3 stars: fine, unremarkable.

It’s close to my house and pretty good. Phở is my go to meal when I am sick. I had shrimp and beef spring rolls as well as the Phở Saigon Special Phở Bowl. It was good, there was a lot of meat in my bowl. The lady that helped us was very nice and the food was served extremely fast. Will go back.

I find myself coming here pretty often(since I live a few blocks away). I feel comfortable being there bc the owners kind of know my family. Their service is great honestly. When Im having a bad day i’ll just sit in there and order a bunch of food and their food just comforts me.(Sounds hella corny I know haha.) I kind of want to be able to try everything on their menu.(They have such a huge menu)! So far i’ve tried the hu tiu xao, bun bo hue, shrimp cake, beef w/lemon grass and rice, and I can honestly say is was the ! Although they could make just tiny improvements. The bun bo hue wasn’t as spicy as other places, that might be just me though cuz thats my favorite noodle soup and I like it really spicy. And the beef was a little more chewier than usual. But other than that it had great flavors and i really liked it. They have the best hu tiu xao! Like they did every right with that dish! Im not complaining! Except they should cut the broccoli into smaller pieces. Haha. The shrimp cakes were alright. Its really really chewy, it takes forever to break down. But they’re actually really good. They’re really sticky too, so they kind of add alot of oil to break it apart. Im not really sure how I feel about that. Their Thai tea is honestly the best! Before/after school I always have to grab me some cuz I be having some strange ass thai tea cravings!

I place my order at the beginning of the 3rd Quarter. It’s Arkansas and Texas Tech — whomp whomp. So I wait patiently for my lunch. The clock is only run down to 9:42 and a hot, steamy spread of spicy meat, rice, rolls, etc. are being so carefully set in front of me. The location on the hill is «meh», but I forgot where I was once I stepped in here. I like that a lot. I may know a bit more about the spicy meatballs than I do about Vietnamese delights, but I can say that my food tasted fresh and full of flavor. Only«CON»? I expected I was ordering something similar to Ga Kho, but really it came out looking identical to Spicy Chicken Teriyaki? I wasn’t terribly disappointed though — the flavor was definitely spicy with the faintest bit of sweetness to ground the heat. A lot of regulars were coming in to pickup To-Go orders. I’m also sitting with a direct view to the upstairs; hidden away and well lit with windows, it’s just as inviting as the rest of this tucked away find. Everyone was so inviting. Kind of makes me want to come back and try a little of everything now.

I go to this place almost once a week. The dinner menu is huge and somehow I’ve never had anything I don’t like. The curry chicken soup is especially good. They also have a great lunch money that’s fast and cheap! Family owned and local. I can easily say this is my favorite place to eat.

This spot is located In the heart of first hill & is a great spot to grab a quick lunch– if you are on the go or a want a quick sit down time– there is a big family feel to this place– and I was surprised that there is an upstairs which I didn’t know about. Good to know though because come lunch time this spot is PACKED!!! I am pretty much addicted to their vegetable phở– I am a meat person but I always order the veggie phở– it’s light & the perfect meal for a midday boost– I work close & of all the places to go to on Madison– this is my favorite place to go! They also have pretty good bahn mi sandwiches– I’ve only had the chicken one but they made it fresh– just how I like it!

I found this place right next to Swedish Hospital complex. It offers a large variety of Asian dishes. It looks like it does a large take out service. Food coming out of kitchen looks good. The crowd sitting and picking up tells me it’s either a local favorite or the only nearby option.
