So ridiculously expensive. I am still in shock by the amount I just paid for our dry cleaning. The sign outside says 20% off but they don’t take it off the final number, they take it off before that. Highway robbery is the right term for it.

The woman who works there, I don’t know if she is the owner or not, will steal from you. Yes, she will pad an extra $ 30 or $ 40 onto your ticket. I’m horrified. I started suspecting something as my bill recently shot up — about 3 or 4 times ago. See, I usually request no receipt. I don’t do anything with them generally, so why load up my purse with slips of paper. This time I asked for a copy of my ticket — the handwritten one. Quite clearly, I see that the total should be 124.83, and I see that she has written a 5 over the two. I can’t be the only person she is doing this to. And the cleaning service really blows. Sometimes my clothes come back as dirty as they went in, only flatter. I was on the look out for a new cleaner anyway, but I don’t want to just ignore the theft. Suggestions welcome!

While the quality of the dry cleaning is ok, laundry items at Ruby’s get special treatment. Firstly, they will write your name(my wife’s name in my case) on the shirt using indelible marker. This usually occurs on the tag, but tag-less shirts are written on directly — usually along the inside button strip at the bottom of the shirt front. Then, they will launder the shirts so harshly that the buttons will chip, and thinner cotton will start to feel like canvas. Ruby’s — they’re the worst.
