Last Saturday, my sister’s husband rented space here for her 30th bday party. By «rented» I mean that R-view lounge reserved the upstairs part of the lounge and the entire north section next to a bank of windows. No rental fees. And since party guests were going to be paying for their own drinks, my sister’s hubby ordered a round of appetizers for everyone, many of whom arrived well after the 9pm start time due to the Torchlight Parade traffic. The(limited) selection of lounge apps were all delish but then again I did consume four glasses of rose bubbly so not sure I am an impartial judge! ;) Views were killer(we were able to see the TL Parade going by on 4th) with sunset over the beautiful Seattle skyline … and my sis and hubs were able to throw a fun party for not a lot of dough. R-view created a signature drink for my sis(peach bellini, she’s a champagne and sweet girl) for what I believe was no extra cost. We had two servers just for us, and it definitely had that posh feel of VIP service. I brought cupcakes, and the only downer was they still charged $ 3pp fee which I thought was a little excessive for mini-cupcakes that required no labor. They did platter them for us and set them out post– candle blowing, but still. I would definitely recommend this place as a low-key unchaotic spot to rent out for occasions or even to bring out of town guests for a drink and city views! Just bear in mind that you can only rent until midnight.

Was in town for Emerald City Comicon and this joint was near my hotel. I have a thing for sky high eating/drinking so we walked over and headed up to the 28th floor where RView was surprisingly empty for a Thursday night. The view and ambiance are the key selling points here but overall the place was very nice and reasonably priced. Our server was new but pleasant enough. Nice variety of food and drink available like seafood and sandwiches. The hard cider offered was delicious as was my burger and fries. Would definitely come back if in the area.

Great little place. Food was awesome. View could have been better, the seats are too low so wall is in way. Service good, prices reasonable for a hotel restaurant.

We stayed at the hotel for a conference and thought we’d treat ourselves to dinner with a view. The place was practically empty so we got our choice of seats by the window. The prices were high, but we expected that. What we didn’t expect was the very limited menu especially for someone who isn’t eating meat these days. We also didn’t expect the horribly slow and lackadaisical service we received. For being guests of the hotel and diners at a higher priced restaurant we expected more. Since it was happy hour we decided to start by splitting the garlic fries $ 8. Tasty, but make sure you really like garlic and are okay to smell like garlic for a while. My co-worker ordered the pork sliders(my picture shows the size). They were small and she said they were okay. I can’t for the life of me remember what I ordered, it was apparently that forge table. Our suggestion. Try one of the many amazing high-end restaurants near here. But, if you are staying at this hotel and want to stay in-house, skip RView and just go to Maxwells for less expensive food, much larger quantities and better service.

Pros: This place gets 3 stars based on the view/ambience. It is a small place, very cozy and intimate. There are floor to ceiling windows and the cocktails are amazing. Cons: We went here for Valentines Day with reservations. Although the wait staff was attentive, we felt extremely rushed. We would ask for a little time to browse the menu/sit and just chat, and the waitress would be back in 1 min. It was to the point that we ordered just so we could stop being bothered.(This happened with drinks, apps and dessert). We both got the New York Strip Steak, one with garlic fries and the other with butter nut squash. The fries had been sitting out for a while, the butter nut squash was tasteless. The steak was cooked exactly how we ordered, which was good, but the flavor was lacking. So, overall– great spot to grab a cocktail and great views of the city. Wouldn’t recommend it for dinner.

RView has excellent customer service! In the process of scouring Seattle for the ideal location to throw an engagement party for my brother and his new fiancée, I found RView. I’d been before years ago, when it was under different management and I thought it would be a long shot to host the party there, but I called just in case. I spoke with Clark, the general manager, who told me that he’d be happy to have us — a party of 50! He worked out a flexible appetizers menu customized to my liking and arranged for a cash bar for our guests. Clark was responsive and readily available whenever I had questions for him and when I asked him if I could increase the number of guests. Any request I had was graciously received. The night of the event went off without a hitch. The venue is just as advertised in the photos with tasteful, well-kept décor. The views were stunning. The servers and bartender were all very professional and accommodating. When it came time to pay the bill, the server brought it to my attention that we ordered a little more food than we needed, so they didn’t charge us for the food that they didn’t end up preparing. This — even though the menu was agreed upon ahead of time. So, the final bill ended up being less than I was quoted. I was really impressed by that. I highly recommend this venue for hosting momentous celebrations that will leave you with lasting memories. I truly appreciate RView and staff for making our event so special and worry-free.

The view and service was great. Very convenient if your still jet lagged and don’t want to think about where to go for food or drinks. The happy hour food specials where pretty good. I wish I had taken some pictures but my phone battery was dead at that point. I was up during what they called the worst storm they’d could remember. Lots of heavy rain and from the 28th floor looked really cool.

Had to wait for like 5⁄10 minutes til the bartender got back. The space needle definitely is not the sears tower.

We stayed in the hotel and just wanted easy. Well RView was easy, they are just up from the room. But, the food was a total«meh.» The chowder was salty, the mussels lackluster, the crab cakes were the best thing we had, but they weren’t enough to come back for. Not a do over.

Hidden gem! Renaissance is a bit out of the way, so this spot is quiet when most others are busy. Great happy hour, reasonable prices, locally sourced food, and amazing views. I almost didn’t want to write this and keep it to myself, but they deserve the business! Tip: ask restaurant manager Marc to fix you a barrel age cocktail, you won’t be sorry!

The Oregon Ketchup was the best item on the menu it came with the sweet potato fries – which were the only sharable apps for more than two. Our streaks were not fit to eat, and we sent them back – and really i am not that picky about it. They did remove from the bill with no hassle. The potatoes and asparagus were good. The crackers, butter, and olives plate was yummy. Our server was sweet, but not very good. The bartender was«busy» so our cocktails took forever – 20+ min. I had to ask for water while we waited. The price is upper middle, but the quality and presentation was middle bottom. I was very disappointed in the food and service, but the view was nice.

The views are spectacular! Nice little place that seems relatively unknown from the top of the 28th floor of the Rennaisance Hotel. Really impressive food for a hotel bar/restaurant. Seriously, besides the Columbia Tower Club, this would be my favorite view of Seattle. We all shared a bunch of apps and entrees, so we got to try a lot. We had the hummus, salmon sliders(I didn’t try those as I don’t eat fish, but my friends said they were great), a mushroom spinach ravioli with cream sauce(my favorite!), sweet potatoe fries, and the roasted chicken. Also, highly recommend the martinis. The cucumber martini is good but not my fav. The one I had, I can’t remember the name, but it was a combination of chambord, wine, and something else. Pretty darn yummy! Anyways, the place is nicely laid out, has great views, and it’s nice and quiet. Would definitely recommend it as a date-night place, a place to bring your out-of-town guests, or a place for special occasions.

Quaint little place with great prices considering this is a hotel. I dined on the(to die for!) Pecan Crusted Salmon with herb risotto and veggies. What a great way to end the night! Associates were very attentive and warm.

Views from the 28th floor are fantastic! Service was top notch. The crab cakes were some of the best I have ever had. The salmon sliders were good. The drinks were well made. I highly recommend this lounge for happy hour or sunset. Great place!

I was staying at the hotel, and came up here several times during happy hour to get a drink before heading out for other activities. The libations were decent, the service was awesome. Stella the bartender made some great recommendations for local bars and restaurants, and the views are fantastic. Happy Hour is from 4−6pm, and the drink prices aren’t outrageous if you do miss that window.

I made reservations last week for a Mother’s Day brunch at RView through Open Table. I was promised«stunning views of downtown Seattle and Elliott Bay while you savor the finest in Pacific Northwest cuisine». Saturday, the day before Mother’s Day, I was contacted and told, not asked, that the Mother’s Day Brunch would be held on the second floor of the hotel instead. I searched specifically for a special restaurant with a view to take my wife to, and found The RView. My reservations said RView, and were confirmed at RView, until the day before. This left me absolutely no time to make a reservation elsewhere. What choice did I have? Upon arriving, we were both very disappointed in the appearance of «Maxwell’s»(not RView) but again, had no time and didn’t want to take our chances driving around trying to find another place that was more appropriate for brunch. We had our daughter with us, who was very hungry and wouldn’t be able to wait. That is why we made reservations in the first place. Keep in mind that our reservation was made for 15 minutes after brunch started. There was 2 dead calla lilies on the table and a view of the freeway on ramp and power lines. Hardly any of the food was labeled. None of it even looked appetizing. The muscles were tough, the sausage was so cold I thought it had just come out of the refrigerator; the bacon had the tenderness of beef jerky and was also cold; the pancakes were cold and stuck to the pan; the shrimp had obviously been frozen; the green beans and potatoes looked like they had been sitting all morning. The only good part of the entire breakfast was the omelet. We each ordered a mimosa, which at many other restaurants is included with a brunch, and our bill was $ 91.30. After a tip, I spent over $ 100 for mostly inedible food, a horrible view, less than attentive service, and a couple of dead flowers on the table. Now you tell me, would you be proud to take your wife or mother to this place for Mother’s Day? I am so lucky that my wife is understanding in the fact that I made the reservation at a much finer brunch than was delivered. We left without making a complaint because she didn’t want to get upset with the staff on Mother’s Day. We were, however given a coupon for a free appetizer at the restaurant that we originally made the reservation at, I assume to get us to come back and spend more money, which I assure you we left on the table. I am extremely disappointed, angry, and embarrassed that this is where we spent my wife’s Mother’s Day. I have had better meals at the Best Western.
