This non-profit organization composed 100% of volunteers aims to provide free and open community access to the different forms of evolving high technology. In 1994 they teamed up with the Seattle Public Library to provide free email accounts – my own first experience with email as well) and text-only access to the World Wide Web to library users. Since then, that has broadened to allow full access to the Internet to all library-card holders. Now they are instrumental in recycling older computers and giving them to community organizations through the Computer Giveaway Project: If you have an older PC that is still usable, donate it to them(they DO charge for the recycling, monitors $ 10, everything else 35 cents per pound)! (I took my last computer to the Wallingford Recycling Station – which simply pulverized everything – instead but I should have brought it here. It’s less expensive as well).
