Seattle Eye

Very satisfied with my first visit to Seattle Eye. After filling out the forms I was able to see Dr. Crowell with little wait. Not that it matters, but it was nice to see an optometrist closer to my age. Dr. Crowell took the time to explain my prescription and it seemed like the check-​up was more thorough in finding the right prescription for me. He even recommended me a new brand of contacts that were much more comfortable than the ones I had worn for years.
On the eyewear side, most of the brands are high-​end fashion lines. Not being very stylish, it’s always nice to get a female perspective. Rain was very helpful recommending frames that fit my face and even went as far as showing me additional styles online that they could order for me to try.
Will definitely return for my check-​up next year!

Small shop, but good selection of brands and styles. Knowledgeable, helpful staff. Better experience than I’ve had a standard sunglass shop (looking your way, sunglass hut).

Got glasses from them a few years back and one of the screws popped out and disappeared. Went in and they replaced the screw, tightened the other, and cleaned the lenses all for free. 5-​star service!

Never have I ever been to an eye doctor who took such time and care in getting me the perfect prescription.
Dr. Crowell really made an effort to finesse my prescription. He is really friendly and seems to really care about what he does. He told me that my left eye prescription was actually a bit too strong (either those carrots I’ve been inhaling lately are paying off, or I had the wrong prescription to start!) and made some great recommendations as to contact lenses and solutions to try out. He also didn’t judge me for admitting that I usually wear my contacts way too long before tossing them!
The office was really easy to work with as well. I ordered contacts through Lydia and she called my insurance to verify how much they would cover before I placed the order. Easy breezy!

Beautiful glasses. Unfortunately the service girl was busy painting and prepping for the next days trunk show and couldn’t help me, sad.

So I saw Dr. Crowell and he was awesome. Super friendly and engaging with lots of eye contact *pun intended* and just plain down to earth. He actually listened to what I had to say regarding my eyes and then gave me a real world answer, and not some canned «in a perfect world» response. He made very clear *again, pun intended* what my options were. I appreciated not being hassled into prescriptions or regimens that are uncomfortable or unrealistic. Thanks again, I look forward to going back.

I love the staff here, they’re amazing and the eye doctor is extremely friendly and very profession. They have great prices on lenses for all budgets from simple basic lens to top of the line international brands. Mykita is by fat my favorite!

Customer service is beyond horrible. I placed an internet order and got an immediate confirmation, followed the next day by an email that my order had ‘shipped.’ Three days after that, USPS still didn’t have package info.
I called the store and an unconcerned clerk told me (verbatim) «we consider the package to be shipped when we print the electronic label, not when it is actually given to the carrier.» WHAT? So I asked when they might actually, you know, hand it to the mailman. He told me they might get around to it in the next day or two.
Five days later, still not shipped. I filed a BBB complaint, Seattle Sunglass has not responded. I filed an Attorney General complaint, Seattle Sunglass has not responded. I filed a fraud complaint with PayPal, what do you suppose happened? That’s right, no response.
This company doesn’t answer its phone, doesn’t respond to emails, and doesn’t care one whit about the customer. Why would you spend money there?

Great service and great modern hard to find frames but pricey and shotty lenses. I buy lots of eyeglasses and these are the most expensive shittiest lenses I have ever owned. I had to take them back twice because the coating kept coming off. By the third time I was over it but they put in cheap lenses that smudge easily, reflect and flimsy. People ask me where I get my frames whichever ones I’m wearing and I usually recommend the shops I get them from but I don’t with this place. I can hardly ever even see they are always so smudged. If you go here for frames don’t get lenses. Your better off getting them put in somewhere else.

I’ve only yet experienced the optical shop. Eye MDs are one of two MOSCOT dealers in Seattle — the other one is Hitchcock in Madrona. Hitchcock are very familiar with MOSCOT as a product due to frequent trips to NYC and have my fashion sensibilities for a better fitting, so they got my business. However, Eye MDs optical shop has incredible (non-​Luxotica) frames that you can’t find any place else. If I were filling a new prescription, I’d likely have stayed at Eye MDs. Their optical shop (which is very focused on classic glasses from independent dealers — they really zero in on the MOSCOT aesthetic) is the only one of its kind in Seattle. Opthamologists (MD) and well as the regular old eye exam doctors are a nice touch. Should my eyeglasses prescription ever increase, I’d go here to be fitted and figure out what kind of glasses I need. I was initially a little sketched out by how the doctor regularly performs cosmetic injections like Botox and collagen (and the opticians can evaluate for them). However, given that they fit glasses really well, it kinda makes sense that this whole practice doc must have a really good aesthetic eye for faces and fashion. That’s what I’d want for Botox, Juvederm or a pair of MOSCOTs.
They don’t take VSP, but they give substantial discounts to VSP members. Just $ 20 copay for VSP for the exam, I believe, and 30% glasses discount. They’ve got all the MOSCOT you can handle. N.b., if you haven’t made an appointment, you won’t receive much help.

2 months later, still no glasses.
I completely regret ordering glasses from this company. I worked the Skye for three weeks to find ballistics rated prescription eye glasses. We finally found some Oakley brand glasses that were close to meeting my needs. She sold me 2 pair for a total of $ 825, which I pay upfront. I wait a week as I’m instructed, and no call. I call in, and no one will help me but Skye. She calls the next day to inform me that she sold me a product that doesn’t even exist!
Well, now they have my money, so I offered to let my boyfriend use the credit. He picks out one pair of prescription glasses at $ 625, and uses the rest for non-​prescription sunglasses. We get the glasses a week later, and there are logos etched into the lenses! They caused discomfort, eye strain and reduced visibility at night. We’re talking about a serious safety hazard. We bring the glasses back, and Skye informs us its normal for them to sell $ 300 lenses that have logos etched in the middle because it helps them ID the lenses later on. Wow.
They lost their CEO recently, and this place will soon be out of business. Shop here at your own risk!

This place USED to be good. Customer service has become horrible since staff changes last summer. Excuse after excuse for delays on repairs. Rude opticians.
Go elsewhere.

Amazing customer service! Walked in with a broken pair of glasses and some contacts that were hurting my eyes. Rain, one of their opticians, both fixed my glasses and hooked me up with a pair of contacts to tide me over until my order shipped.
Wonderful experience. Would highly recommend!

Found adorable frames!!! They have a good variety of brands and prices! AND they happened to have a special going that was 50% off frames with lens purchase! Score! I got adorable retro glasses with lenses for only $ 190! Most affordable and greatest glasses I’ve ever had!

Best frame selection BAR NONE! From Oliver Peoples to Moscot, the options here are far superior to your average eye-​wear shop. Aside from the extensive selection of high-​end designer frames, they have many options for polarized sunglasses across all brands and price points. The staff knows what they are talking about too. This little shop is well worth checking out next time you are downtown.

The staff at Seattle Sunglass took great care of me on a recent trip to find a nicer pair of sunglasses. I agree with other reviewers that mention the good selection — I was looking for Maui Jim brand and was impressed to find all of the models I had seen at the Maui Jim website. The store is clean, staff is helpful and I am happier than expected with the new shades. Thanks!

I have bought glasses from the optical shop and that was a good experience so I went to the get by eyes checked at the doctor’s office. I was prescribed 3 different eye drops for dry eyes. $ 200 later it was extremely painful to put the drops in my eyes and my eyes reacted to the drops by turning beet red. I called the doctor to discuss my reaction. The receptionist told me she could answer my questions for the doctor. This is not a professional practice and she was rude. The doctor called me back and was not alarmed at my experience with her office. I will not return. I have gone to another doctor to get a second opinion.

Dr. Perriman is the best — I’ve been seeing her at this clinic and her previous one for over 3 or 4 years now, and I’d follow her anywhere… even to downtown Seattle where I have to battle for paid parking (one of my pet peeves despite being a city girl)! She’s extremely smart, keeps up with the latest/​greatest in the industry, and I completely trust her.
I have a few ongoing conditions, because I wore my contacts ²⁴⁄₇ when I was younger and am basically allergic to everything, which she has tamed magically via daily contacts and a trio of eye drops. I really can’t more strongly endorse her!

I’ve been wanting new prescription glasses and the usual place that I get them from didn’t have what I wanted. I was searching the internet for a place close by and found this place. They have an awesome selection of designer glasses. They carry Tom Ford, Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Coach, Tommy Bahama, Tag Heuer and Burberry just to name a few. You can call ahead of time and they will quote a price for the frames before coming in the optical store.
I went in to the optical shop on a Saturday looking at the frames they had. Darn I forgot the person’s name that helped me out. But he was very helpful, friendly and patient. He noticed the sunglasses I had on the top of my head and asked how they were working out for me. I mentioned that I had dropped them and one of the lenses popped out. He offered to fix it for free and asked if I needed and adjustment on them. How nice. I found a great pair of frames that were a grayish, white marble with chrome and they were on sale for 50% off. He said it would be about two weeks and I ended up getting a call 5 days later telling me that they were ready. I picked them up the following Saturday and it just needed a minor adjustment.
Next time I need another pair of glasses or even sunglasses I will be buying them from here. There is no sales pressure, they have a great selection and customer service is awesome.
