This is the worst Subway I’ve ever eaten at. Subway it not a first love, but at times of necessity it works for me. But this experience really turned my stomach and I haven’t been able to eat at any Subway since(last 6 months). It was just not fresh and sloppily made. Yuck. I’ll stick with Jimmy John’s when I need a chain subway sandwich.

One female employee(same one stated in other reviews) is the only reason I don’t go here more. She is careless with sandwiches. The meat, veggies, cheese are always disorganized and thrown on in such a way that the sandwich doesn’t close without everything spilling out. I’ve worked for subway for 2 years previously and I just get so mad every time she makes my sandwich. I even hope that she rings someone up or is busy when I walk in. Other than her and maybe one other employee the service here is pretty normal.

I was truly horrified over how I was treated here. I ordered a cold cut combo and the person that took my order asked me several times what I wanted, though I had already said it like three or four times. But the real clincher was when I asked for extra pickles. I had told the young Asian lady(who had no name tag) that I like a little bit of everything, but a lot of pickles. Instead of putting more pickles on first, she loaded up my sandwich with everything BUT pickles. So, I asked if she heard me and then she started yelling at me and belittling me and telling me she would not give me extra pickles! Then, a Hispanic woman came over and turned her name tag around so I could not see it and told me that they are not allowed to give me more than six pickles. I told them I had been a Subway customer for over 25 years and that I had always been able to get extra pickles. They said I was not allowed extra pickles. Then, they started verbally abusing me and laughing at me along with customers who were calling me names just b/c I was complaining. It was truly horrifying. The young woman started angrily throwing about four pickles on the sandwich and said she was not going to give me the pickles i wanted. I offered to pay extra and they would not let me do that either. Meanwhile, I was being belittled and yelled at in line by these psycho customers when it had nothing to do with them, and I had a right to complain about extra pickles. I had asked for the young woman’s name who made me sandwich and the Hispanic woman said, «She does not have a name.» I thought, Wow! I then kept asking for the Manager and they said they do not know if they had a Manager. Then, this morning on 03/24/2015,I called and asked for the Manager and I asked for the young woman’s name who was answered, and she said, «I recognize your voice and I am not going to give you my name.» DONOTGOHERE!!!

Services is what I would have expected. I have never really been a subway fan to begin with so I may be biased. I come here for the convenience occasionally since it is nearby where I work. I always eat at work — the environment may be a bit depressing. On the upside — it is pretty empty and I have never had to wait in line. FYI I did not like the saracha sub what so ever blehhhh!

I love that this is so close to work. I often grab a sub on the way in to work.(One can only eat so much hospital food, patient OR employee.) It’s clean and bring and has reasonable store hours. There’s relaxing jazz music playing and it’s nice to just sit and enjoy lunch/dinner/breakfast(depending on your shift) and watch the cars go by on James. However, the staff is often slow and impersonal. And there can be a long wait around the time before shift change, so plan accordingly between 6:30−7pm.

What can I really say about Subway… I mean the sandwiches are pretty consistent with the other Subway stores(aka mediocre). I personally rather go here than the one on Madison since they don’t skimp as much as the Madison branch. Plus, the service here is pretty friendly and its closer to work. The sandwiches to me are overpriced for what it is but I usually just stick to the $ 5 foot longs.
