Who even knew the Vietnamese made sandwiches??? Well, I didn’t but I am sure glad they do. A friend here in the U-District brought me a sandwich from the deli last week and I was skeptical at first. I mean, I lived in NYC and had the best delis at my disposal daily. But I was proven that the Vietnamese deli could be as good as a NYC Italian or Jewish deli(Carnegie Deli excluded). So, I had to check this place out for myself. The Deli is quick and inexpensive– exactly what you need from your deli. The sandwich is filling and had a good amount of meat as well as very crisp and clean vegetables. The flavoring is tangy but a perfect amount so that is it not overpowering. I definitely recommend visiting this deli. You won’t be disappointed.

Everything but the bread. The sandwiches here are tasty. I would improve on the bread. Our bread was soggy and not crunchy. The filling of the sandwich was tasty. Grilled chicken, mmmm, mmm, good. I’d go back here if I was hungry and wanted a quick snack.

Great Place For BBQ Pork sandwiches. They offer a lot of the subs offered by SUBS(R.I.P) which resided in it space formerly. Bottom line, if you want a great burger or sandwich in this area, and you are any where near jack in the box, cross the street and hit up this, or same family owned Mr. Luis burgers, and enjoy on of the many lunch options the ave has to offer!

Got the BBQ pork Vietnamese sandwich, and MAN this was real deal. The meat was very flavorful, and I have to agree w/the other poster that said that the bread is easily the best on the Ave. It’s delicious!

I adore this place! Everyone here works so damn hard and are so damn nice! Great sandwiches! The prices are pretty good but the food simply speaks for itself. You can tell they use the good stuff. I always feel like I’m getting the ‘hook up’ when I go!

Another new, family-run business taking advantage of the newly reopened sidewalk. Despite the odd name, this is a good place to get a sandwich. The Vietnamese sandwiches are a little pricier than the ones further south on the Ave, but still good value for money. The bread is crisp, but not hard enough to slice up the inside of my mouth. The Vietnamese coffee is strong, sweet, milky goodness — but then again, what Vietnamese coffee isn’t? They also sell regular subs — cold meats, cheeses, that sort of thing. Da Vinci’s, you have competition. UPDATE: I’ve tried some of the subs. They take their time putting the sandwiches together, but it’s worth the wait. There are a few sandwich toppings you won’t find at Subway: pastrami, mortadella, avocado etc. Oh, and the bread is easily the best on the Ave.
