My son attended a birthday party here a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately got food poisoning along with all the other kids that attended the party and most of the adults. I contacted the health department for them to investigate. Hopefully the City of Seattle does a thorough follow-up with this establishment. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

This place first opened when my daughter was about 1.5 years old. I brought her in to play for $ 5. She was at the age where I still needed to play with her so I really didn’t think it was that fun. It was basically like having a big living room of toys. We didn’t go back until she was about 3 years old and she could play on her own. That’s when I really appreciated this place. I was able to sit on the side, drink my coffee and watch her play with the other kids. It’s fun to see. Every once in a while we’ll go for lunch(their mac n cheese is delicious) and then play for an hour or 2. We recently went to a birthday party at Twirl and the kids loved it! They were able to run around with their friends and play in the play area. The adults were able to drink wine :) a big plus for a kid place! I’d never recommend that someone without kids come here just to eat… you need to be used to kids running around everywhere. But if you do have kids over 2, this place is awesome! It would be a great place for a playdate too.

Twirl Café is one of my favorite places to grab a good cup of coffee while my kids play and/or meet friends with kids for a playdate and lunch. When planning for my daughter’s 2nd birthday, Twirl fit the bill as the perfect party location. The party was fantastic! Great food, ample room for adults and kids to mingle/play, and an attentive staff helping with all the details. As a mom of two young kids, I’ve thrown several birthday parties — and this was by far the most stress free party I’ve hosted yet! Birthday girl, parents, and guests all had a great time — thanks Twirl!

Today we had a fantastic play date. It was pouring rain and this was the perfect for our kids(2, 3&3.5) to let off some steam. The food is tasty and decently priced. The service is warm and friendly.

I really don’t know where to start… stopped by this place the other day with my sister on our lunch break. We ordered 2 turkey sandwhiches and 2 iced coffees. Sounds simple right? It took over an hour to make our sandwhices, I had to ask the gal behind the counter twice«Do you know about how much longer it will take?» The other lady that was working was too busy texting on her phone. AFTER we recieved our sandwhiches an hour later(no im not kidding) she then started making our coffee. Why the other girl was unable to do anything, i’m not sure. The coffee tasted burnt and im not sure what type of meat they use as turkey, but $ 17.00 later… i sure as heck will not be returning.

This is clearly not a place to get food. The BBQ chicken biscuit had though to chew chicken. The meal comes with a side salad yet the clerk forgot this when she handed me my bag. When you pay high prices you expect the staff to know what comes with a basic menu item, not the case here. This is one of the reasons I hate tipping before the meal or service is given as the staff received a tip now for poor service. Will not return or refer to others in the area. This is one business that needs the Unilocal sign revoked from the window. Very disappointed in this local business and wish I went to Safeway

Purely on the food, this place is great. I love the Boston sandwich– turkey, cranberry, pesto, and brie. I don’t have kids so I can’t speak to the play area. It’s a weird combination of café with alcohol and children play center but some how seems to work.

Today we had the best birthday a mother of a two year old could hope for. I was able to schedule and organize the party online and didn’t have to do anything else except show up! The food was great and everyone loved being able to order their drinks of choice at the open bar. I ordered the goodie bags and Twirl matched some of the goodies to my party theme. The kids had a great time and the adults did too. The best part was leaving the mess for someone else to pick up :)

It was our first time there and I’m not impressed. The play area was a mess, dirty and cluttered. Not what I expected when we’re charged a good amount of money to have our kids play for a few minutes while we drink a coffee. Our kids actually had to clean up in order to be able to play… The food was ordinary. Unfortunately very limited choices if you’re looking for healthy food but have allergies. I must check if we’re allowed to bring safe foods from home. Not sure if we’re coming back.

It is so wonderful that this place exists. I had a personal meeting with someone and needed to bring the kids. She chose this place because of their AWESOME contained play area(fantastic tree house structure and all kinds of toys abound). We were able to discuss our business with total peace of mind while watching the kids play. With a minimum purchase of $ 20, play time was free. My cappuccino was great, and the sandwich and baked goods we purchased were good too. The toys for sale in a back corner were unimposing and came in very handy when it was time to leave so that I could buy a small«transition toy» to keep my sons happy on the way out(they wouldn’t have wanted to leave otherwise). GREATPLACE!

Twirl Catering saved the day! We had a late breaking lunch meeting for(9) VIPS, and Becky made the lunch happen. Healthy and delicious, from meaty to vegan — all dressed in adorable lunchboxes. Thanks to Becky for a super-quick and friendly turnaround, we’ll definitely call on Twirl Café Catering again. Thank you!

This was a fantastic place to go with my 17 month old this morning. The service was good(not terribly speedy, but with only one guy behind the counter and a reasonably full shop, I can’t blame him too much), the food was delicious, the play-space was fabulous(my little guy loved it!), and the price was actually quite good! For play-space access, a latté and breakfast for me, and then lunch for the two of us a couple hours later, it came up to $ 21. Not bad at all; I’ll definitely be going back.

The concept of Twirl Café is brilliant. A place for kids to play while parents mingle, eat and sip wine. However the execution of the concept is fairly poor. PROS: They offer for your child to play with a meal purchase. They have great healthy kids snacks & drinks. It’s in a central location with a cute style on the inside. CONS: It smells like sweat and rotten socks when you first walk in. Automatically this makes me think the place is dirty and the toys offered may not be sanitized as they should when multiple kids are playing. They do not list the price of a glass of wine, they list prices for everything else but seem to want to screw you on the wine. It’s actually not a glass of wine but a sip of wine for $ 9, when I gave the worker a tip that they should list the price she took offense to it and basically looked at me like I was insane for even mentioning it. They offered for me to take a survey on their iPad which crashed, maybe the survey kicks you out for telling the truth. I might go back if we run out of activities to do with the family when they’re in town otherwise there are plenty of other sanitary places to go.

Twirl is a special place for parents with small children. The interior design blends the whimsy of childhood with the polish of adulthood. It has an indoor playground that excites my inner child and a delicious hazelnut latte to satisfy my adult tastes. My nephew celebrated his first birthday at Twirl Café. The service was lovely. I highly recommend twirl to parents who are looking: –To rent a space for a celebration –For a good play-date location

Party Mama’s this place is perfect for planning parties without the drama. Had my little girl’s 4th bday party here. Planning was hassle-free & flexible. We did a private rental for about 60 people and the space was perfect. I’ve been there on busy days and thought we’d be cramped but it turned out to be larger than I anticipated. The party room provides an area to setup tables for décor, favors, etc. We even had a piñata and face painter, to the kids delight. The staff was excellent and catered to all my whims(and there were many) with a smile and grace. The play area was a lot of fun for the kids, we had a «Once upon a time» theme and they all decked out in costumes. The playarea lent itself perfectly to this. Love the staff, the space, and the service. Would definitely recommend!

Let me start by saying I am a mother of 2 year old twins! Any place that lets me put them in a fun and safe area that they cant escape is a huge plus! Ive taken them here twice now and they were entertained for well over an hour. One compliant but its not twirls fault… The hovering parents! Annoying! Get out of the play area and let the little ones play. Kids will be kids but as long as everyone is playing nice let them be.

This is a fantastic little place for small play dates. Though the space is fairly small, the layout is nice as they have tables both above and around the play area so that parents can sit, eat and drink while keeping an eye on their little ones. There is a small fee for using the play area, but is worth it because there is no time limit. We had a four-kid play date on a Saturday afternoon. The place wasn’t too crowded, which was nice. I’ve heard afternoons/early evenings are the time to go to avoid the busy periods. The food is really good, with generous portions. I ordered a panini sandwich and it had tons of turkey and bacon! It was enough for me to share with my son. They have all sorts of kid friendly snacks too. If you’re in the neighborhood, I would definitely recommend this place if you have a toddler.

I balk at a place where you pretty much have to pay someone to watch your child AND be there in case said child needs to be changed, clings to you the entire time, or you are already a hovercraft parent(like I tend to be) and are quick to track him anyway. That being said, Twirl does offer some neat community things, like parents night out, happy hour, and neighborhood playdates. Really cool interior– I imagine a private party here is probably the best use of the space. I also really liked the additional space upstairs, which at the time we went was totally open for kids to go into if they wanted to play with balls, rubber spots and the like. The organic menu is small, but offers enough for the usual kid palate and quick bite along with espresso drinks and tea. Staff seems mildly friendly.

I see the need for parents glued to their laptops and iphones to have a handy dandy tots area they can throw junior in for a few moments of peace. That said, i thought it was incredibly tacky that you have to pay $ 5 dollars to throw said junior into the play area. You’re already spending more money than you should on the mediocre food and drink. The quiche my husband and I ordered was too salty to eat, and my son’s mystery turkey melt was unpalatable. I think our kids were just a tad too old(6&9) for us to fully appreciate this child-friendly haven in the middle of trendy Queen Anne. Screaming toddlers and parents who look like they’ve given up on maintaining any trace of sanity and appearance prompted us to hit the road in a hurry and thank the Gods we are out of toddler-dom hell.

What a fun little find in Queen Anne. I had heard about this place and after several similar places closed in the last year, I was worried about getting my hopes up. The location and layout is pretty nice. Parking can be a little hard to find depending on the time of day. But, as long as you know where to look, you can find a spot, pretty easily. My daughter took to the little play area very quickly and she was able find toys to play with. There is a big tree structure in the middle, but aside from stairs going up and down, there’s not much else to do up there. So, my daughter got bored with that right away. What’s nice is that there are table around the perimeter of the play area, where you can eat and have coffee while you supervise your children. There is another level up from the main café area with more of a play gym/tumble area. Twirl Café is a good place to meet up.
