Easily the best yakitori in Seattle. I’ve had food from Umami Kushi ~8 times or so, and I’ve always been incredibly impressed. Chef Harold is passionate about his food, and it shows. This is the real deal, from the carefully selected and prepared produce to the binchotan used in the grill. Umami Kushi nails the classics while always adding something interesting to the mix. Wow in a so called city with no night life what a hidden nugget. If you have ever had traditional yakitori in Japan you should try this place. My wife is from Japan and she says this place is the real deal.

Umami Kushi is a Yakitori catering company that often caters to events at Sake Nomi in Pioneer Square. The food is top-notch. Anytime Chef Harold starts grilling you know people are going to smell the deliciousness from the street and walk over. His chicken skewers and grilled mushrooms are divine and his grilled steak skewers will make you wonder if Harold sold his soul to Satan to make steak taste that good… and if he did, it was a worthwhile trade. Yakitori and sake… what a great combination.
