Althought Kurrent was a bit on the blah side it was nice to chat with some fellow Unilocalers and give my sister taste of what Unilocalers do when they aren’t writing reviews.

Yet another fab event! The food was yummy — especially the tofu. The bartenders were awesome and so friendly. The space was great(though a bit loud at times). The Wii provided entertainment, especially when I got smacked during bowling. I ended up staying way later than expected due to all the amazing company. Yay for Event #3!

Thanks for making this happen Don! It was worth the walk in the rain. I woulda stayed longer if I didn’t have to get up at 5:30 today. Nice to be back on the Hill, it’s been awhile. Good times, good food, good(OK great) fellow Unilocalers!

A really good time. Cool people, great atmosphere, yummy munchies and close to my home! Great to see some of my new friends again and wonderful to meet some even newer ones. I also learned to keep a fair distance between myself and anyone playing wii.

Happy un-anniversary, Don and Riss! It was great to see you both looking so happy to not be together, and wonderful to be surrounded by such a great crowd of Unilocalers. Good choice of locale, conducive to Unilocaler interactions! Awesome event — thanks for pulling it together, Don!

I see drunk people! Everywhere I look — drunk people: flinging wii remotes next to my overflowing antioxidant rich pomegranate lime-tini; inappropriately grabbing each other’s booties and making me photograph the grope; and oh. my. gawd. dropping trou(nice stripes, Dfens!). Very fun party Don.

I got to meet Carrie L.B. That right there was a major highlight of the night. THE highlight maybe. But I also got to run amok in the rain and take pics of Don’s decorated car, with help outside from Aaron and Will and a few others playing wing-men inside keeping Don occupied.(magic tricks Will? really? you do rock!) Maybe you’d think of a better way to use 6 cans of whipped cream… but some people don’t need accessories elsewhere have a sweet, sticky good time. ;-) When I first found out about this particular event in Don’s(ever growing) YOE’s… I’m going to admit, I was pissed. JUSTKIDDING! Of course I was thrilled. I’d played the part of happy brainstormer/Jiminy Cricket/supportive friend in knowing this year was coming, and he managed to keep me in the dark this one was in the hopper for some time. Him and I shared a lot of gut busting laughs at all of our friends and other Unilocalers expense throughout that hot ass mess last year. From original post, drawing it out, even wearing a ring and playing the part at EYL events, and to the ever changing HH date that finally came and brought us to Kurrent for the first time. Last year, it was me, and the old owner Vinh, working out the details and getting things going. Working out how to buy everyone’s drinks, find a space, and not pay any minimums can be hard in this city, but after losing our original space(Going to the Chapel, cause we’re not getting married) due to scheduling conflicts, The Kurrent was more than happy to step up and make it happen. This year… it was all the *groom’s* turn with the help of the new owner WIll. They did a fabulous job. Same space, appetizers, etc. Will has got to be one of the most receptive business owners I’ve ever met. Genuinely friendly and eager for honest feedback and to provide great service. Our main bartender Patrick was once again, absolutely fabulous as well. Remembering names and drinks at the drop of a hat and keeping things flowing fast all night for us. And what a fabulous turnout. Mixing up co-workers, friends, Unilocalers new and old, made for a fabulous evening of mingling, chatting and laughing it up, this time a bit at Don and I’s expense. Between taking a few calls, giving directions to a few folks, and plotting the punking of his car, I feel like I missed out on some of you all there, and that I spent far too much time soaking wet from the rain, lol. But it was SOO good to see so many of you out in support! New faces(I’ll include you here Todd, great to meet you!), some very missed faces(Sarah, i’m looking at you), and everyone else too! *and a little edit to add here: And to Shekinah for coming out, and responding SOWELL to my «I wanna rip off her shirt and see that tattoo and letting me do it!* I couldn’t have been happier to be again celebrating NOT being married to Don with all of you and the fabulous staff of Kurrent. ;)

I had a great time at the party! + The company was fabulous. + The appetizers were delicious. + The bartenders were great AND gave us the«HH ends in 5 minutes!» warning(that resulted in a mad rush to the bar) + The drinks were tasty.(Mmmmm. Raspberry Lemon Drop.) The only thing was… while I love full glasses, I don’t like spilling my mixed drink all the time cause it’s TOO full(wasn’t just me– I saw the bartender delivering a drink and it was dripping all over the floor as he was walking)… and I had to wipe down my beer glass before picking it up(cause licking all the beer off would have probably looked… weird). + The location was great and the space was good… but is it just me or were everybody’s voices bouncing off the walls in the VIP room(and making it extra loud)? Overall, though, I had a great time and they did a great job handling our crazy group :)

Great party, Don… and a nice turn out! Lovely seeing everyone and though I didn’t try the food, I was told that the tofu in particular was quite delicious. Lots of new faces at this one. Great meeting you new folks! :)
