When it comes to selling your used books to them, I’d say don’t waste your time. They limit you to two boxes, and take their time about serving you. They made me wait 40 minutes then told me they«weren’t interested.» Some of the staff seemed a little arrogant, as though serving their customers was an inconvenience. They are a local business – but there are other local booksellers(and buyers). Those others will get my business in the future.

The rare and used section of Copperfield’s Sebastopol store is now closed and moved to the Petaluma branch on Kentucky Street. There it is now called«Copperfield’s Underground.» The selection is decent, most«rare» books are just a bit older than the standard used ones. You can sell your books there from Wednesday through Fridays 1 pm to 4 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm. The Underground pays you 15% of the original cover price; but don’t get too excited, they won’t take many of your books, and definitely no novels. Consider donating them instead to local libraries.
