Went to Sebastopol Fast Gas for $ 30 worth of gas. I handed the woman a $ 10 and a $ 20 that I had gotten from a teller at the bank this morning. She shoved my money back at me and said, «We don’t take old bills!» Dumbfounded, I said, «What?» She replied, «Old bills! We don’t take old bills! Read the sign! Sure enough a handwritten sign said no old bills. Granted, they were not the offset head, and rainbow colors, but both bills were in great shape!
Legal tender means nothing to this place. I’ll never stop there again!
