We arrived just before the breakfast rush, about 10:00. The dining room was clean & appeared to be in the last stages of being remodeled, moving toward a more modern theme. Our server, Esther, was wonderful. We had the Simply Complete Breakfast & the Quesadilla, which was not on the menu. Both our meals were delicious, especially the salsa that was served with the quesadilla! We got some to go, since I was taking home half of the quesadilla, which was huge. Good coffee, too.

Pretty basic small place in Sedona. We didn’t see a lot of breakfast/brunch places around so we defaulted to here since we were starving and needing a bloody mary. The servers are all older ladies who are very laid back and cute. They make a pretty decent bloody and their breakfasts are good and basic –big portions too. I had the standard eggs and sausage and it came with hash browns, toast and some fruit. I would come back here again but I had to deduct a start because the bill for breakfast was over $ 50 and I guess thats just Sedona, but it still kinda stinks that it was that much.

Was looking for a good burger and beer, and thought this might be the place. Negatory. Overpriced truck stop food. My mom had the biscuits and gravy, and the gravy was … Um… Odd. Not in a good way. The«hand formed» patties obviously were not, and were overdone and tasted a little odd as well. Bill was over $ 60 for food that was clearly frozen and prepared poorly. Waitress was nice, but it wasnt enough.

The food and our particular waitress were pretty good, overall. This place just did not compare to many of the delicious eateries in the area we tried. If you’re in Sedona, I would recommend you try someplace else instead, perhaps Cowboy Club or Java Love Café. Food highlight: sweet potato fries

I found this restaurant to be a 1 star establishment. My husband and I took a spontaneous trip to Sedona, so we were simply walking through town to find a place to eat. We glanced at the menu outside the door, and decided to give the Hitching Post a try. The décor was average, but it looked fairly clean. We arrived around lunch, and were given the lunch menu which was fairly limited. There were about 4 different burgers, 3 different sandwiches, and a few breakfast items. They have a large drink menu, but the prices were ridiculous at $ 3 a pop, and $ 4 a juice. There is no way I would pay $ 3 for a coke. The average price for the burgers/sandwiches was about $ 12. I found that price to be fairly high for what they were serving. Service was a bit slow, which there was no excuse for as there were only two other occupied tables, and at least 3 waitresses. When the waitress came to take our order, I ordered a chicken sandwich. I requested that it did not have the arugula on it. She then asked if I did not want cheese. I stated yes I wanted cheese, just no arugula. Then she tried to tell me that arugula is in fact cheese. I have two problems with this. One, she was incredibly rude about it and her tone suggested that I was an idiot. And two, a waitress should know the menu. There is a huge difference between a leafy green and cheese. If she had been a little more polite about it, it would have been fine. When my sandwich arrived, it did in fact have arugula on it. The food was very bland. The marinated chicken ended up being dry deli slices. The cheese was all but nonexistent. There was no spread on the sandwich, and there was essentially no flavor. The best part was the herb forcaccia it was served on. The sweet potato fries were under cooked. Overall, I felt this place was a major rip off. I would not return to this restaurant.

Made my way here for breakfast with my friend before our Red Rock Jeep Tour and full day of activities. I shared a meal with her and it was the perfect portion of food. The service was pleasant and the food was a great start to the day. A great stop for family and friends to enjoy a bite and take in the beautiful day!

My first meal in Sedona was at the Hitching Post. In order to prepare for the busy day ahead, my friend and I decided that it was not in our best interest to hike on a bursting belly. So, we decided to share an item, which turned out to be a great idea. Their portions are generous and it would be difficult for anyone to finish a meal alone. The food was well prepared, came out in reasonable time and our server did a nice job of checking in on us without hovering. It was clearly a popular choice for many because the restaurant was full the entire time we were there. The cozy atmosphere, stick to your ribs food and fair prices make the Hitching Post a great stop for friends, couples and families alike.

Not your average breakfast place despite the diner look. We were sat immediately. And it’s got a creative menu. I had the fritatta. My friend had the hash. Both were delicious. And all of it was reasonably priced.

Meh, I am not a breakfast person, and even my son and boyfriends omelettes didn’t look good. My chile burger was ok, would put it on par with I hop or dennys, Go to the coffee pot restaurant if you want a good breakfast.

Nothing fancy here at Hitching Post Restaurant. Cozy diner on the small side with decent food. It’s good place to stop by if you’re hungry but nothing worth make a special trip for. I had the blueberry pancakes. No better than Denny’s or IHOP but a little more expensive as it’s located in Sedona.

Not wild about this place. This was our first stop for breakfast on our first full day in Sedona, and although the location couldn’t have been better(just around the corner from our hotel) the food and food prices didn’t sit well. Although the place was mostly empty when we arrived, the hostess insisted on clearing the one table that wasn’t prepped. It was the booth nearest to the kitchen, which was not only noisy and full of activity from the waitresses rushing back and forth, but the booth on my husband’s side was broken, poking him uncomfortably in the backside. The menu is somewhat limited, only offering the basic eggs-bacon-pancakes-potatoes type of fare. That wasn’t a big deal, we are pretty simple eaters. However, for $ 9.00 I would prefer a little more than undercooked hashbrowns, under toasted English muffin, greasy eggs and thin bacon. My coffee was very watery as well. The service staff was nice but seemed very frazzled considering the limited number of customers they had at that time. The next morning we opted for Wildflower Bread Company just a little further down main street and found a much better breakfast for half the price.

Last day in Sedona, and we get breakfast here before we take off. I Unilocaled it before we went, but I figured if people were wrong about all the other places we went the past few days, then they’d probably be wrong about this place. The dining room was packed and we had to stand in line for, luckily, 5 minutes until we were sat down. Not bad. The waitress was very attentive and remembered everything. Water and coffee was filled promptly every time! My daughter had the French Toast Medallions(daily special) and they were freakin’ awesome! the bread they used was cut from a loaf and as soft, airy, and fluffy as… something really soft, airy and fluffy. Good thing she can’t eat a whole lot, I got to finish it! I opted for the hamburger patty with two eggs, hash browns and toast, and a side of biscuits and gravy. The hamburger patty was a little dense and led me to believe that it was probably a frozen patty that was left on the griddle a little too long. Eggs were perfect over medium, and hash browns were a perfect well done. Biscuits were a tad dense and gravy was bland, but still edible. Overall, it was one of the better meals I ate in Sedona. I will eat here again when I come back.

Came here during a quick drive through Sedona, and let’s just say I don’t think it was the best first impression. Breakfast was terribly expensive and much too average. It was obvious one of the waitresses was new, and the older, more experienced waitress was publicly reaming on her about all the mistakes she was making. As a waitress myself, I think it’s incredibly important to treat your coworkers with respect, especially in front of diners. To see that type of judgement or hazing made me want to up and leave the restaurant. I hope things got resolved after we had left, or that the poor girl got a better job. Incredible location, in the heart of Sedona. Just a few minor changes could make this place fantastic. Let me know when it does, and I’ll be back for a second chance.

Cool diner in the heart of downtown Sedona. If it wasn’t local recommended I may have mistaken it for a tourist trap. But its one of the older restaurants in town and they are serving up tasty breaky with a smile. The biscuits and gravy are good, cheap, and big enough to share. Combined with my wife’s 2 eggs over easy with hash and bacon it was perfect for 2. Reasonable prices as we got out for about 20 bones. Great views of the stone faces such as snoopy. If u dont know what that means ask ur waitress. The history lesson was on the house !!!

Came here for a late dinner @7pm. no other diners except us. The server was an elderly lady in her 60’s bless her heart. Food was fast to arrive and was hot. had the house special of fried chicken and spaghetti. nothing to rave about its ordinary diner food. They serve bfast also but haven’t tried it yet. The décor is old like a flashback into the 70s.

Let’s just get right into this: Restaurant: The overall look of this restaurant isn’t anything fancy, but it totally reminds me of the good ‘ol mom & pop places that are roomy, and just good to eat at. The dining area is divided with seating both inside and outside. Outside is really nice, with a little waterfall and plenty of shade. Food(and price): This is where it begins to get questionable. When I saw the large menu, it was full of good All-American food, like burgers, pork BBQ, steak and even breakfast. When I ordered their«Famous King Burger»(for $ 10.95) I was expecting this beautiful ½lb burger with cheese and all the fixin’s. When the burger came out, I was extremely disappointed. First off, the size of the burger just wasn’t that amazing, but it could have been because I actually had to dress the burger myself. Yup, I had to assemble everything except the cheese. The only good part about this, is the heaping container of mayo that came with the assembly(I LOVE mayo). Then a closer look(as I was assembling) revealed that this could quite possibly be a frozen burger patty. When I bit into it, I was(and still am) about 99% sure that was a frozen, pre-made burger patty like the ones you can buy at Costco. The flavor wasn’t there, but it was cooked pretty good(for being frozen). As I finish the burger there were the fries(which I was just assuming were frozen as well), but they still tasted okay. In fact, nothing was«terrible», but for a final bill of $ 15(not including tip), I felt like I should have gotten something a little better. All I got was the burger, fries and a tea! To me; EXTREMELYOVERPRICED. Service: This is what saved this restaurant from getting 1 star. From the hostess to the wait staff, the service was top notch. Although there weren’t that many people there when I first arrived, I still felt like I was the only one in the restaurant. Everyone was friendly, and loved to spark mini-conversations(which I love). My only suggestion for the waitress, is to not tell customers that they can pay for their meal at the counter. Being my first time here, I didn’t know there was a second counter to pay at(a.k.a. their coffee counter). That being said, I went to where the hostess was, knowing their was a register there, and paid for my meal. Kind of made me look like a complete jerk(like I couldn’t wait for the waitress), but I was told to pay at «the counter»! Overall, I wouldn’t come back to this place until they have a fresher menu, and/or lower prices. I feel like I went to amazingly beautiful Sedona, and wasted $ 15+ on a meal that could have been a lot better. There’s other restaurants, so go explore them and spend your $ 15 on better food.

We had lunch here on our trip through Sedona. This is located in the heart of the tourist district. The place is clean and serviceable. It has the feel of a diner from about 30 years ago. The staff was a friendly. I had the Reuben and it was very good. I am picky about my Reuben and this one left nothing to complain about. The potato salad and fries were surprisingly tasty as well. My friend had the club and her only complaint was that it could of used a b it more mayo. This is the kind of place your grand mother would take you to as a kid. It is not new and hip or trendy, but rather a slice of Americana.
