This firm is a front for a boiler-​room operation. I mistakenly judged them to be a legitimate enterprise and sent my hard disk in for so-​called diagnosis. The base charge is $ 299 for that. They reported back to me that there had been a head crash, which I knew already, at which point they wanted to bill me $ 299 just for repairing the drive to a readable state, plus up to $ 1800 more to return MY data to me. They also signed me up for some phantom $ 48 service which I did not authorize.
Now that I am doing the research I should have done, I find that there is a Better Business Bureau F rating for this business at this address under the name Data Recovery Corp in Shaker Heights OH. There are also 6 other names at least under which it operates, and though it claims to be GSA approved my bet is that they are using that certification illegally.
STAY AWAY.
